I agree with tsudecimo. To call it the "single most disturbing piece of fiction [you] have ever witnessed" exposes a fair amount of ignorance when it comes to any fictional work that has ever created with the intent of making you feel uneasy or disturbed.
Not only in anime, but including every single fictitious effort in any medium.
Also, I understand that the statement was based on all you've seen, but that sentence is still very misleading. Especially to those unbeknownst of the anime, and might cause them believe it to be intensely and extremely horrific or nerve-wracking.
Although the series can conjure feelings of being uncomfortable, saying that is still an overstatement.
I'm not trying to be rude, just telling you something I (and someone else) think you should take in consideration.
Your review for Aku no Hana made sense until the part where you called it a masterpiece. All it has is shock value, and that alone does not a masterpiece make.
''This is not an anime for the fainthearted. It is the single most disturbing piece of fiction I have ever been witness to, and rightly deserves to be named a psychological horror. ''
^ You can't be serious.. it's not a horror nor did the author intended to be like that, it's just psychological. If you think this anime is dark then you should watch/read more anime/manga, this barely touch the surface when it comes to dark and disturbing in this medium.
