Holy fuck that was a lame joke! What was even the joke, that Gamergate was a thing? I haven't seen Prison School, but it's supposed to be funny by itself. There was no reason to try make it Ghost Stories or American Shin Chan. As for the Vic situation I haven't paid attention to Rial's comments. It's quite likely she overstepped and accused Vic of stuff she can't prove. In which case he is perfectly in the right to sue her for libel.

I haven't watched many modern Funimation dubs. Who're the actors responsible for modern Funi being so awful in your opinion?

The whole Vic controversy is rather sad. He's tremendously talented and did some great work over his career. At the same time, I can understand Funi's reasons. I like to go to anime conventions and there have been these odd "Vic stories" since at least 2006. It's not just reports of him getting a little too handsy with cosplay girls, but stories of him being a dick to convention staff, showing up late for panels, and a whole laundry list of complaints. The weird thing is that this seems almost exclusive to Vic. If you ask about virtually anyone else, people will say "Oh yeah, he's a really sweet guy!".

There are some people of course who say Vic is being targeted for being a conservative Christian and the only people that dislike him are rainbow haired SJWs and people like Kaiserneko. However, I don't believe that's the case. Look at Jason Douglas, who is a 45 year old country boy from Arkansas and also very openly a conservative Christian. That guy won't do conventions with Vic because he thinks Vic's an asshole. I'm not saying Vic did anything illegal, because I have no evidence of that, but he seems to be the kind of employee most companies wouldn't want.

Also, what kind of a dead serious, artsy drama ends with the hero literally punching the bad guy's head off. When I watched it, all I was thinking was: 0:43

It's true Tex is heavy handed as fuck! "Transhumanism is bad M'kay. Human flaws can't be fixed with robot parts and technology M'kay".

BTW, I finished a review for Texhnolyze the other day, which I finally finished last week. It had been on my watch list for about 2 years!

T series subs = 69 million Indians who just want to hear old songs. 1 million non-Indians who want to troll the Pewds. Pewdiepie subs = 10 million easily entertained children who are at the phase where screaming bad words is automatically funny. 10 million people who subbed to him 10 years ago and simply forgot to remove him from their subs. 10 million who don't watch his videos, but subbed on principle. 40 million alternate accounts and sub bots all within the last 365 days. When I was 11 years old there wasn't a YouTube. We spent 4 hours downloading audio clips on Napster and played them over and over because bad words are funny. Here is basically what my generation had instead of Pewds.

I'm also with team T-Series. Fegelein FTW!
literaturenerd Mar 2, 11:40 PM
The battle between T-Series and Pewdiepie continues!

I love that after 13 years of this damn meme, there is now an established continuity and every minor character in the film has become a beloved figure with their own personality. The only downside is that now an entire generation will hear the name Fegelein and think of the jovial trickster character from these videos. The actual Hermann Fegelein was far less loveable.

Your review scores are quite a bit more brutal than mine, and I really don't mind. Saw your Madoka Magica review, honestly agree with an overwhelming majority of your points, but I did enjoy the anime more than you did, me having given it an 8/10. Docked points for the retarded entropy and "emotional energy" plot points, and now that I look back, maybe it does deserve a lower score from me, but it's been years since I watched the series.

Stay honest, man. Sometimes, good shows need a lower than average review that brings up good points that people don't notice or realize.
