Remmeber watching the first Ikkitousen run through and gettin all pissed cause it strayed so far from the Battle Vixens manga, well guess what: THIS ONE DOES TOO!! ....but not so much. Dragon Destiny takes on after the finale of Ikkitousen and actually starts to dwell into the realm of those characters that actually make this story so fun to read in BV. I cant stop thinking about how after Ikkitousen I kept saying watch bout Kakuka and Ryuubi and Myousai Kakouen and Sousou's Dragon and...... you get the point. And for all the Kanu fans...like me, she's has a much better role in this ... one..WOOT!

The theme songs are also great and I hope they keep them around for the US release. 'Garasu no Hana' by IORI is great.

The only fallback is that you either have to read the BV mangas(HORRAY!) or watch Ikkitousen(Boooo..) to understand the roles of these characters cause it just jumps right into it from the original series, but it seems like its gonna be worth it.

In all fairness this show looks better than it is. It starts great and gives an idea of how this story is gonna go in the first 2 dvds, but somewhere around the 3 dvd (12eps) it starts to die out and frankly you just dont care anymore. The characters and environment are setup to be top notch, but without an engaging story they have nowhere to go, which sux cause there's only so much you can do with a character driven show.

I honestly can never remember what happened in the last dvd when I see a new one and have to always go back ... and try to figure things out. Its just not memorable. I have the last dvd but I just don't want to watch it. The dvds come with great stuff, but don't let that sway you into thinking its a great show. It ain't

If you skip this series you won't be missing out on anything.

Last Year when I first heard of this AirGear show I was a little standoff-ish. Come on, here is a show about kids on friggin rollerblades. Then a few months ago I got this first edition from ADV and I gotta tell this show ROCKS! It's about KID'S ON FRIGGIN ROLLERBLADES!!! :P

Ikki is a student with a grudge; on what I dont really know but it works for a story jumpoff. One day he gets his ass kicked and now wants to ride skates to cope with the pain. He lives with three girls who each own a pair of skates: Rika, Ringo, ... Mikan, and Shiraume "Ume" Noyamano who are apart of a cult group of people who skate around on Air Techs (AT's they call them). They call them Storm Riders. The show goes through little by little giving the details of the Storm Riders and the ranking system, but its pretty much that RollBounce movie + Tenjho Tenge with a dash of the Jet Grind Radio game from the SEGA Dreamcast days.

Ikki is pretty much has a hidden talent for skating. Once he really gets into it he turns into Goku and no one can stop him...yet to be seen. He and his friends form their own band of Storm Riders and seeing as they both can't skate is gonna be a good fun time.

Air Gear also has a manga edition to its name thats also pretty cool. It's not too close to the anime that its like going through the same darn thing over and over, but not to astray that you don't relate to anything. I'd say go ahead and read the mangas and watch it at the same time. Its not like Tenjho where the stories were way off from each other.

I know Im pretty much having fun with this review but its either watch it or don't. It's REALLY worth a watch. Its got Girls, Action, Blood stuff, Adult language for the kids, all types of stuff so just do it. And I will find you and extract vengeance if you don't. Good ahead and enjoy.
