I'm only writing this because, for some odd reason, this has no reviews at all. I'm not one for writing reviews, so please bear with me. Idk what I'm doing lol.
This is a short and concise manga, which I think is a huge plus both in general but especially when discussing larger philosophical motifs. Keeping the storyline short allows for the mangaka to focus more centrally on the emotions and ideas they wish to convey, without distraction. Typically, this works very well. In this manga, though, it unfortunately does not. I will get into that below.
Art: 10/10 Incredibly beautiful yet soft and without intricate detail.

Okay, I can't believe this doesn't have a review yet so I am going to attempt a spoiler-free one (SPOILER AT THE VERY BOTTOM WITH A WARNING BEFORE IT).
Firstly, this manga is very different from other shoujo/josei manga in the way it portrays its main characters and the way the story is played out. In order to explain I will break it down. Plot: 8/10 Our main character is a 25 year old woman who has been in an abusive relationship for 6 years and slowly realizes just how isolated she has become through her interest in makeup. What makes this plot interesting is that makeup ... Oct 23, 2023
This is not your typical shoujo manga. There's none of the overly dramatic cliches--no girl rival trying to steal the male lead away, no second male lead that's just annoying and pushy...Truly, one of the most easy-going, well-flowing manga I've ever read. It makes you think and question your surroundings, and develop an appreciation for the small things.
Art: 7/10 (not the most beautiful or impressive, but consistent in quality) Characters: 8.5/10 (no annoying characters, good dialogue--though I do wish we got to know them a little more in depth) Story: 10/10 (wholesome, interesting, and somehow refreshingly unique for a shoujo manga. Beautiful in its simplicity) Overall: 9/10 I think ... Aug 31, 2023

While I will say that the art style is really good, that is about the best part of this manga. The funny scenes are not that funny, the sad scenes are not that sad, and the writing can be a little confusing at times. The story is unoriginal, which is generally fine, but there is nothing special or unique about this manga. It didn't move me emotionally whatsoever, and that is my biggest disappointment in regards to this manga.
If you want to read it anyways, go ahead. It's short enough to complete in a binge. I'm not sure what else to write, but the site ... Sep 20, 2022

This review may not be entirely helpful, but it is what it is.
As other reviews state, this movie is visually stunning. The animation is incredible and the attention to detail really got me. The premise is not the most original, yet it isn't entirely copy-paste of any other anime/manga I've seen. The entire idea revolves around having the two main characters own up to their fears and pride. It essentially is a "I didn't go to therapy so now I'm stuck in a different dimension" kind of deal. Only through working things out do we see how the kids get to go home. The characters are ... Aug 14, 2022
This manga's selling point is most definitely the art. It is stunning throughout every page, and fits in so well with the theme. It is very easy to digest because it is so short, and the plot is a strange mix of shallow and deep, which is why I think this manga does not suit everyone. It is worth checking out for its stylistic artwork and its humor. But below I will post a breakdown.
Art - 10/10 super detailed, not overly done, very clean cut. Really breathtaking at times. Story - 7/10 this manga could have easily fallen into the deeper, super complex side of manga ... Jun 14, 2022

This is the first review I've ever written, and the first manga I've actually CARED to write one for. (That says something--I never go out of my way to write reviews on anything)
This manga is a work of art, truly from beginning to end and from every aspect. The storyline is fantastic, the characters manage to strike into your heart, and the art is unique and gorgeous. I can genuinely say that despite the manga being only 53 chapters, it left an impact and had me questioning. There are religious elements, philosophical elements, and morality which is consistently shifting. Please read it. 10/10 |
