Shokugeki was interesting to me though because it has a pretty unique setting. Never watched a cooking anime before and I really liked it :3
What can I say, I like odd girls? xD
I still need to watch season 1 first, that will probably take a while since I have so much other stuff do watch >_< The visuals are amazing again of course, based KyoAni ^^ I think I only watched one KyoAni anime so far, which was Nichijou. Maybe I'll watch Phantom World soon, that one looks gorgeous as well. Looks like you could write an 100-pages-essay about that anime :D
Awesome to know that, Flying Witch is definitely a must-watch then.
More about Erased:
The situation was very difficult if you look from Satoru's point of view. To start with, the knife didn't have any fingerprints imprinted on it since the murderer used black gloves. Wearing gloves is a common tactic used by criminals in order to cover their fingerprints. Let's say that Satoru defended himself against the police and said that the knife didn't have any fingerprints. It is possible for police to assume that Satoru also used gloves when he killed his mother and already disposed the gloves that were used. Okay, so what if the police didn't find any recently used gloves around Satoru's house?
Even if the police cannot find an evidence on how Satoru covered his fingerprints, Satoru must explain these things in the court:
How can any other person besides his mother and himself got into his house? Satoru's mother had a very bad habit of leaving doors unlocked because his mother gotten used to the environment back in Hokkaido. Of course, Satoru definitely can't say that his mother has this peculiar habit. That is a definite no no. The court would definitely question him on how he is the only one that knows the habit and the chance of him being guilty would skyrocket.
In the time of the murder, what is his whereabouts? The judge would mention that Satoru does not have any alibi to defend himself since the murder happened after Satoru's work shift ended. It's difficult for Satoru to convince the judge that he was not at home. The police can determine the time of murder by doing an autopsy but it would not be very accurate and it is still possible to accuse Satoru as the murderer.
Can Satoru explain there are other suspects that can kill his mother? If you're in Satoru's shoes, would you accuse someone innocent as the murderer of your mother when you clearly saw that it was not them?
How
Yashiro (his former elementary school teacher)
can be involved in such murder? As you can see..the murderer knows that if he can just drag the police's investigation closer to other suspects, he can save himself from getting into jail.
When you think back, Erased was a great anime that pictures how meticulous serial killers can be in real life. The anime executed it well and the staffs actually made the huge effort in some minor details which made the show gained even more reception from the viewers.
Tbh, I agree that Erased had some flaws (very tiny ones that I can't remember) as mentioned from other anime fans but I just ignore the technical stuff and enjoy the show. That's what I did for all the other shows I watched. Flaws are easily noticeable when you've watched a lot of anime episodes (I totally can't believe that I've passed the 3000 mark) but you can just ignore them to get the best out of shows.
Tbh I wasn't interested in Re:Zero at all, maybe because I get turned off if a show is too hyped in some cases :3
Shokugeki is one of my favourites, so naturally I rank it pretty high since I love the characters. KonoSuba was simply the surprise anime of the year which kinda redeemed Deen from only making shit lately.
Well I'm a gamer so I already have a certain affection for anime with that theme. Also who doesn't want a gamer girl who's head over heels for you? :>
Kinda surprising to see Hibiki on your number one spot, didn't think there are people who enjoyed it that much. Always seemed more like a solid, but not amazing show to me. There are people who wanted me to watch Mob Psycho 100, but I kinda don't want to. Maybe once again because it's too popular and I don't like the artstyle that much xD
Thank you! Early happy new year to you too buddy, hope you have a good one.
My top 10 is as follow in no particular order, also decided to write some short thoughts about why I liked the shows:
1. Yuri!!! on Ice, I really enjoyed the relationship building in this show and even though it touched the "LGBT" theme it was done in a wonderful way.
2. Hibike Euphonium S2, after really enjoying season 1 the second season ended pretty much how I wanted it to end, just no Kumiko x Reina ship :'(
3. Haikyuu S3, Hmm after the first 2 seasons of Haikyuu this is definitely on my list. 10 episodes futuring one game was epic.
4. Natsume Yuujinchou Go, just a heartwarming anime
5. Re:Zero, this was some suffering and enjoyment at the same time. To me it was a really interesting concept and well executed.
6. JoJo Diamond is Unbreakable, well it's JoJo, cant not love me some JoJo.
7. Fune wo Amu, this show doesn't seem to be well known but it's a good one. Never thought a story about creating a dictionary could be as interesting as this anime made it.
8. Mob Psycho 100, ONE writes some interesting stories I guess
9. KonoSuba, what a hilarious anime this was. Megumin is love, Megumin is life.
10. Shelter, it might be a music video, but in the 6 minutes or so it told a story which touched me deeply, probably more than any of the other "feels" anime I've watched this year.
Thanks! Keep your dreams and hopes high while you can as they tend to get diminished every time you age.
"Want to watch Flying Witch, it's really high on my priority list." It's a brilliant anime that brings an idea of creating a chill story about witchcraft. Don't want to tell too much about it but in short, it gives a fresh and different view on the story of a witch's daily life.
About Erased
I'll try to answer some of your questions.
"why not cooperate with the cops? Would you enlighten me about this?"
I'll try to recall the details. :P. Take note that I'm not defending Erased, it's just that this is what I think.
We can try to look at Satoru's situation at the time.
I suggest you to rewatch the episode 1 to understand my explanation, you can skip to the part where Satoru's mother was murdered.
Satoru came back home from work and saw his mother lying on the floor with blood all over. This clearly left a very huge shock to him, knowing that his mother being killed by someone just one day after she came to his house all the way from Hokkaido. (Satoru's mother lives in Hokkaido, which is far from where Satoru lives. (i.e, Chiba))
At this instant, any sane person such as Satoru would lose all of their cool and sanity of course. Then, your neighbor coincidentally came over to your house and immediately gave you a scared look on her face before running away from you. Now that Satoru knows his mother has been stabbed, he has to calm his neighbor down as well? Things are not going well for our MC right there since pressure starts to build up inside him. And things don't end here for Satoru, the cops arrived at his house in a very short time. (How come they arrived so early? I'll explain later on (*)). After seeing your neighbor running away from you, the last thing you want to see is a group of policemen searching for you. So, the chain of bad incidents eventually causes our MC to suffer huge damage mentally and ofc, he doesn't have a chance to think straight at all. Even if Satoru didn't run away and were to deny his crime, how can he get out from the situation? :( The murderer's execution of the kill and timing was so perfect. (explained on (*))
(*) In Episode 6, it is revealed that the murderer is crafty in his work and he got away from being a murder suspect by doing the same thing over and over again for years. The murderer's trick is simple, to buy time by framing someone else as the murderer. This is a known fact for those who have watched the show. Here are some examples of the murderer using his dirty trick:
i- He used Jun's boots to kill Kayo so that the police would focus more on Jun.
ii- He used Satoru's work schedule so that he can find a suitable time to kill Satoru's mother. For example, if Satoru work shift ends at 6:00 p.m, then killing Satoru's mother after 6:30 p.m would be the ideal time to execute the murder because Satoru wouldn't have an alibi to defend himself. Of course, the killer had to take some precautions to ensure that the plan goes well so he called the police before he does the murder. (he maybe said that he saw a young man commited a murder) He didn't have to worry about being questioned by the police since all the evidence and circumstances brings the investigation closer to Satoru being the murderer.
Opinion about the ending:
I was disappointed at the time when the story told us that Satoru suddenly survived drowning in a car. I was relieved that it actually explained in manga as to why he survived. There are some rants around saying that the final episodes sucked because the show was not being itself (being unpredictable) but I have no problems with it personally, I'd love a guy such as Satoru to have a good life and a good girlfriend after all of that trouble and suffering.
Oh I see, so you use one big picture with all of them. I use use only one picture of a character per img-tag and link that one to the character page. I also take them directly from MAL ^^
If I look at your picture though it seems that it looks exactly like you wanted it, the quality of your images seems to be lower because you made them smaller, no? Where did you use 225x350? Because that's exactly what I'm using xD

My top 10 series, (Level of enjoyment in descending order)
Alright, cool :3
By the way you are male, right? Your username says otherwise, but your favourite lists make me believe that you are ^^
Hmm it seems that image size decrease is the reason, guess it looks a bit blurry if you do that.
Like I said I wanted to use smaller images as well, but I was too lazy xD

That's odd, I actually tried to achieve what you did there and put more than three pictures in one line xD
How does your BBCode look if I may ask? :o
