Let me start off by saying this is an anime like no other. The pace is entirely different from most other anime; we don't get to understand the party of heroes ourselves and experience their adventures. Rather, what we learn about them is through Frieren's memories. The subtle character development of a seemingly indifferent person is what is truly charming about this show. Frieren's signature phrase early on was "what's another 50 years?" But her adventures with the party of heroes, followed by the passage of her friends and raising Fern to be a proper mage, is what causes Frieren to truly value her time,
...
her experiences, and her memories.
Story - 9/10
I initially thought it was very slow paced. However, we're fighting Qual by episode 3, Fern's first battle experience we see. It feels rather long though, perhaps because of the dialogue and nature of the characters. Which I can understand why this feels draggy; however the "down time" conversations amount to substance, whether it's world building, learning more about the characters personalities, Frieren's past, or just from a bonding aspect where we see the relationships between characters strengthen (particularly fern and stark). In addition, the pace just makes the battle scenes all the more worthwhile. Seeing the mages in battle is just so oddly satisfying. Fern and Stark vs Linie and Lugner was stunning. And Frieren telling Aura to kill herself was actually badass. And let's not forget the first class mage exam; the extent of magic we see towards the end of this season is exciting and thrilling
I have one criticism of the whole plot. In episode 3, it is implied that magic continues to evolve. Qual's zoltraak is now considered ordinary offensive magic. However, Frieren continues to use old spells, which most modern day mages dont seem to have an answer for. Sure she has a lot of mana, but that hasn't seemed to be the cause of it. The only way this would work is if Frieren's spells were extremely unique and very obscure from the rest of the world. Perhaps she learned most of her knowledge from rare grimoires.
Animation - 10/10
SO good man!!! The use of magic was put on full display here, there was no lacking in graphics, the battles were super flashy. The cuts to a character's POV were executed perfectly and served a purpose of better understanding the situation for the viewer. My personal favorite scene was Stark fighting Linie. The cut scenes between that battle and Fern vs Lugner gave me chills. The body movement was so fluid and realistic, even down to the last hair. There were obviously no shortcuts taken when animating each scene to the last detail.
Sound - 10/10
The soundtrack is PERFECT! It's so good that I actually listen to the playlist of it on spotify. It gives perfect tones of tribal folk music based in the medieval-era. The tonality of every scene was nailed. The upbeat music when it came to battle scenes was so fitting. My favorite soundtrack was when Denken took on Frieren during the 1st stage of the first class mage exam.
Not to mention both OPs were great. They were upbeat and honestly kind of display a bit of the inner nature of both Frieren and Fern. Both are calm and level headed on the outside, but inside they are truly enjoying their adventures and learning about magic.
Characters - 8/10
I wouldve perhaps liked to see a little bit more of external personality from Fern. But it cant be helped i suppose if that is who she is. Nearly every other character was executed to perfection regarding their development, traits, and flaws. The spontaneous behavior of Stark and Frieren added a good humorous aspect.
Overall - 10/10 - I was debating between a 9 and a 10, but considering that this anime is like no other; regarding it's setting, inspiration, plot basis, and character development, it is like no other I have seen or heard of, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is truly a masterpiece.

I found this anime rather enjoyable. It may seem like your typical romance anime at first, where a bunch of girls crush on a dude whether they know it or not. However, what makes this one special is that they recognize these cliche tropes and joke about it within. For example:
Ruri always pointing out how scared Onodera is to make a move and mocking her for it.
Tomboy tsugumi is funnily scared to accept that she's a girl.
Ruri constantly pummeling the horny side character in Shuu.
Marie is the unusually aggressive character who has no chance in the end, but she actually does have a side to
...
her that's uncivilized when she's pissed off. I kinda like her "country" side.
Chitoge the tsundere, of course! The fact that not only she is in denial of her love, but the fact that both claude and tsugumi are making sure that the relationship is authentic (and quite frankly dont really want it to happen) brightens up chitoge's character. The general plot of chitoge and raku forcing to be in a relationship due to them being the heirs of rival gangs was a good, but not unrealistic, plot that was set up.
And the play in the final episode summed up everything that happened in a hilarious shakespearesque style (if you can call it that). This was probably my favorite episode in the anime.
Probably the only bad part of the anime was the continuous reference to Raku's locket he received 10 years ago when he was little from some random girl. It got really old and annoying.
The animation was the best and worst part. I loved the fact that whenever each character "threw up" from surprise when someone said something out of pocket, their barf was held up by sticks. Gives the anime some sort of puppet show aspect that I couldnt stop laughing from.
However, the animation of moving clothes was awful. The patterns on dresses remained static despite the wind blowing them, and that kind of made it annoying to watch at times.
Music selection was pretty typical for your average rom-com. Not terrible but not outstanding or memorable.
Overall, this isnt a masterpiece or a revolutionary anime by a long shot. But if you want to see something heart-warming or have an anime for a change of pace, this is a solid slice of life piece that offers a very good comedic effect.

Great introduction for mecha animes. I probably will dive further into the genre myself in the future. Cant wait to watch season2!
Pros:
Great topics covered and in an emotional fashion that I can feel, such as racism/oppression and being in the minority, what it means to not be heard like what happened with Milizé to everyone around her in her profession.
Shinei is so fucking cool and based
Action scenes were great, animation was very smooth and helped this case.
Characters were extremely likeable
Best ending themes out of any anime I've ever watched. Great music overall as well
Pacing was very good
Animation was very good!
...
Cons:
Milize was annoying sometimes. Always wanted to talk but some of these conversations felt useless.
Not enough time in the battle scenes. I was looking forward to see more of a military tactical perspective.

Overall, this anime wasnt a total wow factor, but as I kept watching the more I enjoyed it. The fight scenes were really what made this up, and the comedic effects were well-timed and not overdone. However, many interactions felt rushed or out of place, and there were a few episodes where I was struggling to want to watch this anime. It started off great with Itadori eating his first Sukuna finger, but quickly turned pretty boring.
Quick breakdown of each ranking category:
Story - I pretty much covered this in my overall review, the fight scenes, and Itadori's massive growth with Toudou as well as the
...
end part of the anime were the best and most enjoyable parts for me. I didnt like that much of the show was focused on the battle between schools, it didnt feel like it belonged and the only thing interesting to get out of that was the abilities of the Kyoto school members.
Art- Animation was amazing, particularly during the battle scenes and especially with Itadori's abilities and Nobara's most iconic moment at the end where she evolves her straw doll techniques. I also LOVED both openings to the anime.
Sound - Not very good. Although yes I did mention that I loved both openings to the anime, including the music choice, the second ending was so boring and I skipped it every time after the first. The musical selection during the show as well was very odd and unfitting, especially with the old man and his rock guitar was annoying (and felt irrelevant) and the interaction between Maki and Miwa.
Character - I loved the overall development between the 3 main characters, and it is very easy to like Gojo Satoru. None of the other characters had any real flaws, although I wouldve liked it to be clear on who is the rat between Jujutsu High and the special grades.
Enjoyment- Mentioned in overall, but it was hard to force myself to watch episodes really up until Toudou and Itadori fight that special grade together.

My god, Attack on Titan was not one of my first animes but i wish it was. The story is so fun, the plot is extremely intriguing and had me hooked like some of my favorites had me. I was on the edge on my seat on whether Eren could take down the titans. Even the side characters who had no form of introduction, I couldnt help but feel remorse for them because they gave their entire effort for the cause. I admire the way that Mikasa, Eren, Armin, etc. compose themselves in these types of situations and have the determination towards their goals. Sometimes
...
their mindset can get a bit reckless but that is where Levi frequently comes in to tell them to think with a clear mind before channeling their energy toward the objective of killing the titans.
The reason this does not earn a 10 is because the animation is very basic. It wasnt bad and serviceable for the anime, but it didnt wow me either. The rather bold outline around the characters was not appealing. Sound was also rather decent, but very repetitive. For example, I would like to hear more creative sounds for the titans than were present in the anime.
Overall very fun to watch though! Definitely recommend as a top anime for literally anyone that can tolerate bloodshed.
