In regards to the reviews ive read about netsuzou trap I felt I should do my part and write a review. First of all, the manga and anime are really interesting and well written when it concerns the manga. I believe a good anime/manga like a good movie or tv show when it's well written makes us hate and love and empathize with the characters and Netsuzou TRap did just that.
The main issue facing this anime is that it's easily misunderstood from what I've seen personally.
The story revolves around two girls in love and realising their feelings. The cheating is secondary, if even.
However, most people are focusing on the cheating aspect and how the boys are being taken advantage of. Which is completely false, Takeda is helping Yuma on his own choice and Fujiwara knows what he got himself into. The real issue here is the drama that revolves around the two female characters. How they deal with their feelings, hide their feelings and even, in Hotaru's case, sacrifice herself for the person she loves. I will get to this more in depths next.
For a quick explanation on the characters themselves,
Hotaru is the type to not be forthcoming with how she feels but instead work in the shadows to ensure the safety of the person shes trying to protect. This was evident when she was beaten and being blackmailed by Fujiwara, using the picture he took of Yuma and Hotaru. Most of what she did was also to get Yuma's attention which is understood later in the anime. This doesn't excuse all of her choices but we can empathize to the fact she was scared of this situation but also of her own feelings.
Yuma is the complete opposite she is oblivious to most things in life and struggles with her feelings towards Hotaru and what they mean. But her protective and stubborn personality is exactly what hotaru needs and balance their relationship perfectly.
Takeda is a literal angel, he doesn't hold any grudges against Yuma even after being rejected. He is an admirable person and a good friend to Yuma. "He deserves better" like everyone says, and it's true.
Fujiwara is a piece of shit.
The storytelling and the point of view we get from the characters is great even if its lacks of details like there is in the manga.
To conclude Netsuzou TRap isn't for everyone if youre looking for an anime where the boys are the focus and get their happy ending this isnt the anime for you. However if you want a deep and interesting story about the growth of two girls in love and the process of them accepting it, you should give it a try.
