Haha yeah, everything you heard on my Soundcloud was made with Logic. It's a great program, suuuuuuuper easy to use xD

I LOVE CHON!! Bro, you're picking stuff straight from my favorites on YouTube hahah. I don't listen to them all the time or anything, but they shred. For real. I'm definitely into this kind of music. Btw, on a more chill, but still technical note, have you heard of TTNG? Their guitarist is the true G.O.A.T. Yeah, I'm sending an entire album; I can't think of a single song to send. Listen to it when you get the chance. :P

Haha I hear ya. I've never been big on sports, but I definitely respect it. Speaking of which, I just recently watched Ping Pong the Animation and WOW bro. Easily one of the best I've ever seen, you gotta put it on your PTW. Don't let the art style fool you, it's one of the best coming of age stories ever told, and they use the art to the show's advantage. The symbolism is overwhelming at times.

I know you didn't like it as much, but Yuru Camp is my #2 for 2018. I just adore that show with all my heart xD Violet Evergarden is a close, close 3rd though. Best art, animation and soundtrack by far. Even if the story feels lacking at times, all of those things make up for it tenfold.

Tbh man I'm having a hard time getting into Tamako. To each their own, though! Nothing really gripped me about it, but I didn't drop it or anything. I'll get around to it eventually, haha. Marry him? Fair enough! I don't have much interest in dudes but I can see how he's endearing... xD

CGDCT is awesome. Non Non Biyori is awesome. Renge-chon is awesome. I would adopt her. I'm not even kidding. She's honestly one of the funniest characters I've ever seen. I can't help but laugh aloud at almost everything that comes out of that kid's mouth lmao. Her time on screen just makes the entire show worthwhile.. it's kinda weird to say that about a 7 year old kid. No, I'm not a lolicon! Renge is just sooooooooo hilarious :D

I'm doing well though man! Sorry for taking a while to respond. Tbh it's these long messages that I tend to put off for a while. Not that I don't wanna get back to ya, just that it takes time to collect my thoughts on certain things, and the fact that we have like 20 different conversations going xD

Also I just had my first practice with a new band I'm gonna be singing for! I'm not in this video (I took it), but this is a short clip of the guys rocking out. They're pretty drunk and just jamming here, but I'm so pumped to be involved with something like this!! The band is called The World Around You (The WAY for short). Do you know da way?

In terms of production software, my only real experience is in using Logic Pro X. It's a fantastic program, but the only downside is that it's Mac-exclusive. It's however exactly what I need for the kind of music I aspire to work on, though, being various forms of hip-hop and orchestral soundtracks. Plus it's really easy to use, which is quite the added bonus xD

Bro Polyphia is the shit. I listen to a lot of repetitive music, so it doesn't really bother me at all, haha. You're damn straight, they can shred. Hard.

Haha I can't really get into sports movies. See I was kind of forced into sports a bit by my gramps when I was younger, which ultimately turned me off to it altogether. The only sport I can even watch nowadays is baseball, which may be an odd choice to some, but it's the only game I enjoy the layout of. Like watching the Astros win the World Series... that was awesome :P

I'm really glad you enjoyed that blog post! I put a bit of time into it. I pretty much disregarded most of the writing tools I normally use (thesaurus, etc.) and opted to write straight from the heart until I was done. I felt like over-analyzing it would've been a disservice to my own feelings at the time. You're right though. I'm a big fan of art in general, so anime has easily become my favorite medium of entertainment. Seeing beautiful art in motion, telling beautiful stories, with a beautiful soundtrack.. nothing beats that for me. :)

God dude, APFTTU is incredible. Hands down the best anime of 2018, and I watched almost all of the critically acclaimed series of last year. It's such a wonderfully hopeful anime. That 2nd to last episode definitely brought the tears out.. over 1000 messages? Jeez. Freakin' feels man. Other than that, the ED is also one of my top 5 of all time. It's sooooo good :D

I'll definitely work my way through Tamako Market eventually, but if anything it'll probably be for the sake of character development for the movie. Nothing from the first few episodes has really gripped me, especially when comparing it to other CGDGT slice of life series like Non Non Biyori and Yuru Camp. To each their own, though. Our individual opinions make the world go round! :)

Yeah Ishizuka is a fantastic director, and also did a great job with directing NGNL. I just wasn't fond of the ecchi.. it's just not my thing in general. She however did also direct The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, which is hands down one of my favorite anime of all time. Tbh I feel like that's her best work of all xD

Did you get that PM I sent you? It was pertaining to how to change you anime list format. Hope it helps a bit- if you have any more questions about it, feel free to message me directly and I'll get you sorted out!

Lol! I've never seen Portlandia but I might have to check it out with the way you've made it sound. That's really cool, though.. it's always super interesting to find out how different things you love are tied together like that xD

Yeah tbh I want to just redefine my sound altogether. I had only done solely acoustic stuff in the past, but I've always wanted to go in a more ambient/electronic direction. Maybe combine some of those acoustic elements in, too, or even throw a lofi-ish beat underneath it all. Lol, who knows.. I just wanna get creative again.

Ehhhhh yeah the Strand definitely is a cool place, but Galveston as an island isn't even remotely close to a paradise. Brown water? No thanks, lmao. The Strand is really historic though, and has a lot of cool, old-fashioned architecture, as well as tons of novelty shops and whatnot. Really neat place, for sure! :) Also I haven't seen Friday Night Lights, but I knew about it using Explosions in the Sky in their soundtrack. Isn't that a football film? Not my cup of tea, lol :P

Yeaaah Toradora is one of my all-time favorites. It's just so memorable. I love the entire cast.. they're all like real humans :)

Yup, not exaggerating. Perfect. If you want, I wrote this blog post about how Aria the Origination changed my life. There's no spoilers about the show, but you'll learn a lot more about me as a person, lol. I basically just talk about the highs and lows of my life recently and how Aria completely rid me of some of the most negative thoughts I've ever experienced.

That's funny! I actually watched two episodes of Tamako Market last night before you even sent this xD It seems promising so far, but the only downside is that the music hasn't gripped me yet. Part of what I enjoy about iyashikei anime is the soundtrack. Aria, by leaps and bounds, has the greatest soundtrack I've ever heard, which is part of what made it such an incredible experience. I'll definitely watch Tamako, though, as I've heard the sequel film is excellent. :)

NGNL was a fun show for sure, definitely worth the watch. The thing is in Japan, they often sexualize younger girls because the age of consent over there is 13. The fact they pushed it down to an 11 year old in NGNL though.. that didn't fly with me. I'm already someone who hates ecchi/fanservice to begin with, so that entire element took so much away from the show imo. If it didn't have any of that, it would've been a solid 8 or 9 in my book, because the narrative itself is wildly entertaining. :P

Tbh I don't really know any other bands that are like Le Tigre, I'm sort of ignorant when it comes to feminism in music. :p
As for Sleater-Kinney I haven't really heard any of their stuff but I'll get around to listening to them one day. c:
Also you said you've been listening to a lot of 2000's emo/pop-punk/hardcore stuff, I hope you've heard of Senses Fail as they are my favorite band of all time.
I tried watching Kimi no na Wa, but I stopped 30 minutes in because some stuff came up but I might get back to it, as of right now I'm really taking a long needed break from anime, when I come back I'll probably check it out.
Greyleaf Mar 6, 1:42 PM
Dude wtf I totally thought I replied to you. I was wondering why I hadn't heard from you, now I feel like a jackass lmao

Haha nah I didn't mean you specifically had to be a creative force.. it's just in being part of that environment altogether. It's a really good feeling. Even if you're not "in the band" so to speak, just being able to go on tour, play shows, and feel that energy.. it's great isn't it? I really miss playing shows. It's been a good minute, but at the same time I think I'm at a point in my life where I'd want to completely rework my entire style before getting back on stage. I wanna do something.. new. xD

Busking is the shit! Haha, we used to rake in a good wad of cash at the end of the day. My friend and I would often go down to an old, rustic part of Galveston, Texas called The Strand. It's known for its art, culture, music, etc., so no one ever has a problem with street performers. It's honestly the only place I truly love that's close to where I live. I have so many fond memories of playing there. We even made friends with a lot of the shop owners, and one time the owner of a smoke shop paid us to play all day outside their shop for the 4/20 festival. We got tipped in cash and joints (though that was under the table).. hahaha

Toradora is soooo good. Easily one of my all-time favorites, so I'm glad you liked it! :D

Btw, if you don't mind a recommendation, I just happened to finish what I consider to be the only "perfect" anime I've ever seen: Aria. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but you seem like you're down for the slow, slice of life kind of shows. Aria is truly life changing. It made me want to be a better person. No joke. The only downside (I can hardly even call it that) is that you need to see the 40 episodes of the Animation and the Natural first, which is literally like 40 episodes of world-building, but with that much effort into setting the stage, it makes the Origination easily the most glorious finale to any piece of entertainment I've ever seen. I actually cried my eyes out when I finished it, and I'm not a very emotional person at all haha xD
Sictransitgloria Mar 5, 2:52 PM
That's pretty awesome, I have a wolf on one thigh and a lamb on the other with Brand New lyrics so I can appreciate a good band tattoo. A Paramore tattoo would be so awesome - they were a huge part of my teen years. I wanted nothing more to be Hayley Williams hahaha. (Didn't every girl back then though)

The images you posted don't work ):

I am going to be getting an anime tattoo for sure, I'm getting it from Chris Mesi (if you are on instagram I highly suggest looking at his work because wow). I already have an overwatch tattoo from him but I just really need to decide what anime character to get.
I have one of my cats tattooed on my arm, it's one of my favorites. I plan on getting my other cat on the other arm in the same placement.
Sictransitgloria Mar 4, 1:04 PM
I think I saw them in 2009/2010 as well, but similar to them I'd kill to see This Will Destory You, I'd sob the whole time for sure.

I do have tattoos actually, almost a whole sleeve on my right arm, three on my left, a few on my legs and whatnot. I'm not sure on the exact number but I have a ton more I want. What do you have so far?
Sictransitgloria Mar 4, 8:06 AM
I like some singles from The Black Keys but I can't say I've really sat down and gave them a listen, I know they exist on one of my playlists hahah. I reallllly enjoy EITS, I saw them live once and it was probably one of the best live performances I've seen.

I used to be really into FOB back then as well, I don't dislike their new stuff per say but I'm not all about it either, I saw them live in September (it's one of my close friend's favorite bands) and they are good live as well.

I looooove Pale Waves, I listen to them quite a lot actually.
malikbugatti Mar 1, 1:21 PM
Hey that's awesome, I love anything really that's emo, especially emo rap and rock. But yeah Seaway is really good, pop punk is probably the best sounding genre of rock imo. But when we talk about emo music, my favorite band of all time I'm about to say may be post-hardcore but the lyrics and topics they put into their songs deserve recognition as emo but if you have never heard of Hawthorne Heights those guys are amazing they just put out an album last year called "Bad Frequencies" and it's amazing because it's almost a call back to their first album in terms of sound. Also I'd love to talk to you more often as it seems your music taste is almost the same as mine so I'm very interested in what else we have in common! So don't be afraid to hit me up also if you have any music recommendations for me I'd love to hear some! c:
Sictransitgloria Mar 1, 9:51 AM
I'm honestly into anything and everything music wise, I am that person that makes a million spotify playlists for all of my different moods and whatnot haha. I haven't heard that song yet but i'm going to have to give it a listen ASAP.
My favorite bands are Brand New & The 1975, and I spend a lot of time listening mostly to music that I listened to in my teen years, I'm stuck there haha.
malikbugatti Mar 1, 3:52 AM
To say mainstream rock is lame these days is actually a heavy understatement lmao, I'd say it's just as good as it used to be it's just that rap has overshadowed every genre in a way. Rappers that I like rn (not of all time that's a different story ofc x3) is JuiceWRLD; Blueface, YBN Nahmir, Comethazine. Plus I got others that I'm too lazy to list lol. But you say rock is lame rn when in fact it's the complete opposite. There's been a thriving amount of new artists coming out of the works inspired by days of old and want to recapture that sound so we've seen a revival of a few genres like emo rock. I'd recommend checking out Greta Van Fleet, Tiny Moving Parts, Seaway, and Foxing. Also don't be afraid to lmk for more recommendations I can always hit you up with some! :3

I want to find a job in pharmacy. Not in school. How about you? :)
I haven't been much around in other states. Not an adventurous person in general. I haven't been to Asheville, but it gets a lot of buzz and apparently it's beautiful. What was your favourite part about it? How long did you stay for?
Sictransitgloria Feb 28, 2:42 PM
You have American Football on your page and that's amazing.
Greyleaf Feb 28, 12:46 AM
That sounds awesome man; I hope your tour went well! But yeah, actually playing music and surrounding yourself with that kind of creative energy. Nothing comes close to that feeling! :D

Imagine Dragons.. gross. Panic! at the Disco.. gross. Lol, to each their own my dude. Idk I don't think I can vibe with anything in the current top 40 or whatever :P

But that Hammock record....

Raising Your Voice... Trying to Stop an Echo... is their magnum opus, in my eyes at least. Departure Songs, Kenotic, and Everything & Nothing are also up there for me, but man you got a good record. That whole album takes me back to the summer of 2012, playing music in my band of that time. It reminds me of smoking herb on those hot ass days, driving around with my friends, busking on the streets. The golden days for me haha xD

Bro Toradora is a masterpiece. Idc what anyone says. I will have to say that while I like both OPs, the first one is still my favorite. I didn't like the original OP at all the first time I heard it, but after it grew on me over time, I came to love it. It's so catchy lmao
WhiteOakNico Feb 27, 9:35 AM
North Carolina for me.
