I am very much hyped for what this series has to offer. I am starting off with this prologue but I can see why ufotable is so highly regarded. The animation was crisp and clean, flashy but effective. I think that Rin, from what I have seen is a bearable tsundere. None of the characters struck me in a negative light so thats nice. The plot is clearly missing things however, I haven't seen fate/zero so this whole "holy grail" stuff does not really make a whole lot of sense for me. I think that Archer and Rin have shown a good character dynamic that
...
is one of respect for one another and was well-written. Which leads me to believe that the series will have similarly good writing as we go forward. Obviously I have yet to see, but world-building and plot introduction was very clear and well done, which I hold highly in regard, especially for a prologue to a series. I at least know the basics of what the situation is, what powers are available, and what the power-scaling looks like. I would definitely recommend you to watch, an enjoyable usage of 51 minutes. On to ubw season one now. 8/10

I really expected something great but I was ultimately dissappointed. II think the idea was good, and the plot was solid, but it lacked the emotional depth of Bakemonogatari. The melodrama between kiss-shot and Araragi was annoying and the pacing was terrible frankly. It moves way too slow. I think the film did it's job as a prequel but really didn't do much to develop Araragi, Hanekawa, or Oshino's character. Speaking of which, the second most recent review makes a very decent point. Hanekawa's character is thrown completely out of proportion in this movie compared to Bakemonogatari. She is mild-mannered, still somewhat outgoing and friendly
...
of course, but she is wildly different personality-wise so much so that it directly contradicts the ending arc of Bakemonogatari. She supposedly is in love with Araragi and Araragi is like extremely shocked but in this movie and the previous one, he's out here doing foreplay like they are about to have sex, didn't feel much like a prequel to me, hence why the recommended watch order places this after Bakemonogatari. As I said, I think there is a reasonable plot twist, and the story was interesting enough to be a fun watch, although nothing truly special, I could probably sum up the plot of all of the movies (a combined 3 and a half hours) in about two paragraphs. I believe that the animation was good along with the art, but oh boy, the soundtrack is just brilliant. Monogatari easily has one of, if not the best OST in anime, which is probably why the rating for this movie is so high on MAL. In any case, the lack of character depth, progression, and development leads to a considerably worse series than Bakemonogatari, but it's still worth a watch to see Shinobu's backstory and set yourself up for Nisemonogatari. 7/10. thanks for reading.

Large improvement from the first movie. I see a lot of 9's and 10's but I don't think it was anything groundbreaking in this film. It is certainly enjoyable however and I must say that the movies should not have been split up in the first place. This film does a decent job of portraying the nuance in araragi's character. In bakemonogatari, araragi seems like a kind saint who can do no wrong, an altruist who wants to save everyone out of kindness. The end of bakemonogatari showed us that he isn't entirely a pacifist but it's amplified in kizumonogatari nekketsu-hen as we see the
...
more irrational and volatile side of araragi. I think the plot started to pick up which is why it was a much more enjoyable watch than the first movie. Etoile et toi is an absolutely magnificient piece of music. The cinematography and witty humor is always on point, the way things are going, the next movie will be the best, I look forward to it. I also have a slight spoiler that I want to critique regarding monogatari's excessive fanservice. Hanekawa tells araragi that she "almost fell for him" then continues to blush hard while she takes her fucking panties off and hands it to him. I feel like that was a moment of shocking writing and/or araragi being extremely dense. In any case, it's hard to understand the motive for a lot of the fanservice in monogatari, I think that some of it is ok and it actually enhances the humor. However, I think the series could do without a lot of it as well. 8/10. thanks for reading!

As an anime only starting the monogatari path. I was amazed by bakemonogatari but the magic I saw in bakemonogatari wasn't really here. I think the main issue is pacing without a doubt. The story is intriguing without a doubt but it only starts to get told towards the last 15 minutes. I enjoy the storytelling method of using quick flashes of text as well as animation to tell the story as opposed to simply dialogue, but it was just too slow this time around. I enjoy the careful pacing but this wasn't it for me. Regardless, the movie does many things well, the sound
...
is brilliant, as well as the art and animation. The dialogue is witty and the characters with an air of mystery about them, even though we may have existing knowledge about them, the author makes it clear that there is more to the story. It's only the first movie, and i'm expecting more from the kizumonogatari trilogy. 7/10. Thanks for reading

This was a fun watch but unfortunately it isn't canon. As an OVA, it's nothing too crazy but gives decent closure to the series. I think Steins;Gate's strongest aspect is it's characters. You get a decent dose of them in this series. Make sure to watch steinsgate 0 before this and the movie. Steinsgate is more depressing than it seems but it truly is one of the best stories in anime.
The watch order is skewed so i'd recommend watch steinsgate all the way, watch divide by zero prequel to steinsgate 0. Then watch episodes 23 and 24 again, then watch the episode 25 OVA
...
then the movie. 7/10

If you want to turn your brain off and watch some childish drama with a hot guy this is it. This show sucks as a romance, comedy, and drama. Whether you would enjoy really depends on what you are looking for.
Plot: [3/10]- Holy shit this was boring, each episode could have been done in 5-10 minutes. The main character gets dumped and spends a bunch of time playing this video game. Here she meets the love interest and some other guy who poses as a girl online (wtf) who is good friends with the love interest. They meet up irl and the guy’s sister who’s
...
like 12 starts beefing with MC. They end up happily ever after. Then love triangle is introduced. Amidst all this, the MC starts getting all clingy and needy over the MC with about 10 minutes per episode of just sound effects and scenes of her getting aroused by him as they stare at each other due to some random ass misunderstanding or circumstance such as randomly passing out with the guy ready and waiting to save her. Apparently, this is good romantic writing. Somehow the love interest becomes attracted to her despite being called in to save her from being drunk, sick, and her pc getting broken. Extremely boring I found myself watching the series at 1.5 speed to stay awake.
Characters: [3/10]: Akane isn’t a terrible MC and she wasn’t done justice compared to how she was in the manga according to other reviews. In any case, within the anime, she is pretty badly written. But oh boy the love interest, he is far worse, a blatant fanservice character. A professional gamer who is “bad with women” *queue depressing backstory of why he is unable to talk with women*, the guy has no communication skills and looks completely annoyed by the MC but is somehow magically infatuated with her by the very end. Has little to no personality as he never initiates any conversations. It’s impossible to know anything about him because he legit never talks. He just stares at people like the MC sometimes otherwise he’s just looking at the floor. Like I said, the manga may be different but the anime failed miserably here. His only quirk is that he looks good, hey if you want to see hot guys I won’t hold it against you but that's all he's got going for him lmao. Side characters are trash. Their whole video game clan consists of MC, the love interest, a Guy posing as a girl who also has a sister complex, a chronically-online sister who sits on Discord all day talking to her online friends about how shit the real world is, then some old guy. There is also the girl who is brought in solely to create a love triangle who is somehow unironically better written than every other character. Oh I forgot one, the best friend of the MC who is a decent character.
Art/Animation: [7/10]: The drawing of the panels is pretty good. Some of the general effects used are also great. The animation was good enough. They did spend half of each episode having the MC and love interest stare at each other after all.
Soundtrack/Voice Acting: [5/10]: The opening and ending are average. I liked the soundtrack, it had these chill lofi beats and stuff. The voice acting wasn’t great. It didn’t seem passionate or genuine at all. The characters were lifeless enough already, and if I had to pick a word to describe the voice acting, it would be artificial. It lacked any genuineness and was either fake or lifeless.
This wasn’t a great adaptation of the manga, I’m sure the mangaka didn’t have this trash in mind within the adaptation. But if you are looking from a completely objective perspective, this anime is very weak compared to most romance anime, including one’s from this season like the dangers in my heart, skip and loafer, and insomniacs in the night. If you want an otaku gamer anime, there are far better options like romantic killer and wotakoi. I would be surprised to see a season two for this series, unfortunately. In a world of isekais and harems, it’s just too boring for studios to take a risk on, because even if the isekais and harems are absolute trash, there is still an larger audience for them in which they can make money. Final Score: 4/10

Tonikawa is a great watch for those times if you are feeling lonely. The show’s purpose is very clear and it doesn’t deviate from it. You know exactly what you are going to get and the question becomes a matter of whether you want it or not.
Plot [6/10]: Each episode has its own plot whether that be playing video games or going camping. Honestly speaking, it’s kind of impressive that tonikawa manages to maintain its popularity with literally 0 plot. It’s not even as if they are stringing episodes together to create arcs of any sort. The conflict/main event introduced at the beginning of
...
the episode is 100% of the time, resolved at the end of the episode. It’s really just focused on creating “cute” couple moments between Nasa and Tsukasa, the main attraction of the series. I want to add that the show’s comedy is decent. Sometimes it's cringe because Nasa and Tsukasa act so unrealistic which each other, i.e. whenever Tsukasa acts bashfully towards indulging Nasa’s requests to be intimate. She acts embarrassed but never says no to him lmao. However, they manage to stay creative enough in the comedy department that the show isn’t a bad watch, because if it weren’t for the comedy, the show would be unwatchable, even for romance lovers.
Characters: [7/10]: I mean really the same as last season, in the sense that there isn’t really any character development, but I’ll say that there is a large variety of characters this season, both new and old, that elevates the show and keeps them watchable. This includes his old teacher, Tsukasa’s caretaker, Kaname’s friend, and Nasa’s high school friend. Even if it’s the same old Nasa and Tsukasa, even if they annoy you by being repetitive/unrealistic, it’s hard to hate them. If you watched season one, it was probably for them after all, like I said, you know what you are getting with tonikawa: sugar-sweet romance.
Animation/Art [7/10]: The art is really well done in certain moments whenever they want to create cool scenery for Nasa and Tsukasa, like a bath scene or night sky. The art is easy on the eye in my opinion. It’s a more chibi style but it fits the “cute” theme of the series. The animation is good enough, maybe a little choppy but does the job for a romance/slice–of–life. The sound effects and comedic effects were good too.
Soundtrack/Voice Acting [6/10]: The comedic nature of the series really means the voice actors don’t have much to do, it’s pretty much the same throughout, with little variation unless you are Nasa or Tsukasa. Kaname has some decent moments here but it's pretty average. I wish tonikawa would do more in the soundtrack department, it’s kinda stale with the same lighthearted soundtrack. Overall, pretty average here, the opening is good for the first few seconds then turns into some EDM song that sounds terrible smh.
Conclusion: I think it’s a fun watch as a rom-com fan. Just because the show is nothing to write home about doesn’t mean it’s not good. I think that Tonikawa is an average rom-com, but without the drama, harems, and triangles. It really gives off slice-of-life vibes. The whole Nasa and Tsukasa are a new couple thing does wear off but you have to keep in mind that they got married as teenagers and are a new couple. Their lack of intimacy is unrealistic and becomes boring because they are already married, there really isn’t any room for further development. The side cast is decent enough and makes up for Nasa and Tsukasa’s faults for the most part, even though they get well over half of the screen time every episode. As mentioned previously, Tonikawa has one job: sugar-sweet romance, and if you want a cute and heartwarming watch, and enjoyed Season One, Tonikawa: Season Two gets the job done.

It’s not great. It’s trashy. But it is still enjoyable. Here we have a shameless quintessential quintuplets knockoff. But wait, it’s not entirely the same. Amidst the heavy fanservice and reused tropes lies a decent watch. It’s more wholesome than you may think. The comedy is pretty cringey but it isn’t horrible. The series progresses by progressively revealing the backgrounds of each character, and they are well-fleshed out. The romance is pretty weak and consists of the MC’s few moments with each girl, except for blue hair because she is an idiot. The drama is the same as the comedy, but I thought it was
...
better, sometimes it was cringe, as was everything with this show, but it also felt real sometimes and served as character development. I also want to add that the main character is good, nothing like your typical harem moron. He has a spine, doesn’t take bullshit, and isn’t abnormally horny. He is serious but also has a kind and compassionate side that makes the show work. While not as developed as the manga, as the series progresses, you can genuinely feel an intricate bond between the characters as the makeshift “family” that they speak of.
Plot [8/10]: I know what you are thinking, but hear me out. The premise of this guy getting his grandmother's cafe off the ground is pretty interesting. While each episode might have some side-plot(s), the overarching idea is that they get the cafe up and running and eventually successful and profitable. It’s also a romance but as a comedy/slice of life, the episodes were interesting and there is a general direction in which it is heading, which is far more than a LOT of romance anime these days. As for the side events, they were also interesting as well.
Characters [7/10]: The main character is definitely a refresher as I said earlier. We have too many total simps or gigachads. This guy is a mix of both, he isn’t like Kazuya from kanokari where he just lusts over the girls but he does not treat them like his slaves either. He is strict and stern for the sake of business but he is also willing to learn from the girls and is kind to them. While it does eventually fall into the tropes of all the girls becoming attracted to the MC towards the end of the season the girls aren’t bad either. I’ll go through each of them now. Akane (Short-hair): She starts off as very mysterious and stuck-up/arrogant, but later her character does a 180 after more is revealed about her in her backstory which makes for her cute, submissive side. Ouka (Red-hair): Nino Nakano ripoff, she's the classic tsundere, she hates the main character and is just kinda there with not a lot of screen time, will have to read the manga or wait for another season before she starts to develop. Ami (Blue-hair): Very annoying character but also funny, this girl isn’t a love interest at all, she's literally around as a living joke for the sake of comedy. Falls into the trope of hitting the MC in early episodes but eventually falls out of it. Riho (Orange-hair): Another tsundere type, but not as bad, who has issues with overworking and is kind of clingy to the MC because he is kind to her. Her backstory is great IMO. Shiragiku (Green-hair): Big-boob uwu voice girl. She’s the kind one of them and has a good relationship with the MC, her backstory is at the very end of the series. Her character juxtaposes nicely with the rest of them as her personality is a lot more laid-back. Very likable and the best girl for me although her character isn’t the most complex, used as shameless fanservice sometimes.
Art/Animation [9/10]: This color palette is SO good. It is just a feast for the eyes to watch the art. Seo Kouji, the mangaka has great art designs, and the color scheme they added is bright and lovely. Everything from character designs, comedy effects, and backgrounds, all have a bright and lovely color that is just nice to look at. The animation is also very fluid and lively to couple with it. The art alone is a pretty decent reason to watch the show in my eyes.
Sound/Voice Acting [7/10]: It’s nothing too special in this department. The voice actors did a good job, they were enthusiastic and passionate. Bashful in the romantic moments, energetic in the comedic ones, and angry/sad/crying in the sad ones. It’s a bunch of rookies around Seto Asami (Mai Sakurajima, Raphtalia, Nobara Kugisaki) and Sayumi Suzushiro (Kei Shirogane, Nijika Ijichi). They got the job done and more. The soundtrack is average honestly, the animation for the opening and ending is cool though. I like the music for the opening.
Give it a chance, it’s not a pure, one on one romance like tonikawa or horimiya, or a love triangle drama like Oregairu, but it’s not isekai harem trash full of lust, despite the fanservice. It is annoying how much it resembles the quintessential quintuplets but the story feels genuine, the plot is interesting, and the characters are good. On the characters, you just need to give them some time, they get better I promise. Their hostility at first makes sense, after all, they are about to get kicked out of their homes after “grandma” their caretaker, dies. The pacing is also good, as it reaches about 45 or so chapters after 12 episodes. As a manga reader, I didn’t expect such a good adaptation. Don’t let the rating fool you, this is a good series and surpasses expectations in many departments I promise.

As a standalone season, this one was pretty good. I think the first 4 episodes were very boring then it started to get good. The perversion is still there but the story stays interesting with some plot twists here and there. The show falls into some used tropes and the plot is convoluted at times but the main appeal to the show is the characters. I think the number one thing people like about this show, and why it is worth a watch, is the characters. Watching ruijerd and eris' character development was a lot of fun. Without spoiling, there are some unexpected character interactions
...
that happen but what makes them emotionally powerful is not the fact that said interactions happened, but rather the manner in which they happened. Watching Rudeus, Roxy, Ruijerd and Eris do things that contradicted with how they would act in the past and grow from it was very entertaining and heartwarming to watch. The character bonds felt real and inspiring, which went a long way in my rating. The season did character development very well. I must add that the plot is OVERLY convenient and while there aren't holes, there are many plot devices. If you notice carefully, there are always convenient things that happen to rudeus whenever he is in danger and it turns out that there was no danger at all. Basically, after a little bit, the suspense feels fake and becomes less effective and enthralling because it is predictable. Rudy will most definitely find a way out of this predicament like he did with the previous three. The ending of the season wasn't satisfying either. I was curious so I basically found summaries of the entire rest of the light novel and I can say that it was very disappointing. After the next season, the show will probably turn to trash. But I must applaud the studio and voice actors. They took the series and added BEAUTIFUL animation, art, voice acting, and overall passion, which is why I believe the series is so highly regarding. There is lots of attention to detail in the art and animation that stays consistent with, or even foreshadows the story. The voice acting was real and genuine and added emotion. Mushoku Tensei's worldbuilding may seem promising now after watching, but in reality it goes nowhere. Regardless, this season was still a very enjoyable watch on it's own, notwithstanding future developments. I don't like a lot of things about Mushoku Tensei, but the premise of Rudeus growing from the failure he once was and correcting those mistakes made for a powerful and emotional watch in it of itself on top of the stories of rekindling old bonds with family and friends as well as creating new ones. If you watched part one, I absolutely recommend you to watch part two. 8/10

Everyone knows this as the controversial anime. It's pretty messed up I cannot lie. Typically I try to leave out fanservice but it's so bad here that I have to knock it down. Every female character gets raped and/or sexually assaulted, it does gradually decrease as you go along however. It's SO unnecessary and wrong. The thing is the show tries to be serious about real issues like hikikomori syndrome and redemption from past mistakes and whatnot, then it does all this fucked up shit under the pretense of comedy. Plot is messy, there is a god involved in rudeus' reincarnation. But the world building
...
is setting up something really cool and the series got better and better as it went along and the fanservice decreased. I need more of that in season two. People dare say it's better than re:zero, personally I don't see it, storyline is too inconsistent and the characters are insufferable, however it has only been 11 episodes i'll give it some time to develop. The characters are flawed, but willing to change which is their appeal I suppose but some of them were just awfully written and fucked from the beginning, which makes it hard to like them. Animation is absolutely stellar i'll give them that. Voice acting is good. OP/ending are decent, you can't skip them either because the opening plays over actual content of the episode as opposed to a set video every time. I'll recommend the series if you can withstand the awful pedophilia, SA, and rape at the beginning, I promise it tones down a lot by the tail end. That was when the plot twisted and the worldbuilding started to ramp up and I began to enjoy myself and see a little of why Mushoku Tensei is regarded (by some) to be the best isekai which is why I give it a 7/10. thanks for reading, -nashy
