Important aspects I consider when scoring a show*:
*in no particular order
Animation
Music (such as OP, ED, background music, etc.)
Voice Acting
Story arcs and Plot (this includes the pacing of the show and plotholes)
Character Development
General Entertainment factor
Scoring:
10 - Crispy!
-Captivating animation and music, a Crispy! show not only is entertaining with a fascinating plot, but also provides an interesting outlook/perspective on some topic (such as life, war, love, etc.) Crispy! shows also excel at hooking the audience in, wanting more. No particular part of a Cripsy! show particularly stands out as something that bothers me.
9 - Near Perfect
-A Near Perfect show which has very little errors, or errors which are barely noticeable. High quality animation, music, and plot throughout the whole series. Near Perfect shows tend to be easy binge-watches as a result of the excitement as well as how much I care about the characters and their development throughout the show.
8 - Impressive
-All around solid scores on most aspects, Impressive shows tend to deliver, particularly in respect to their theme and genre. I tend to have a few issues with Impressive shows, though usually they tend to be rather small details.
7 - Good
-Good shows don't succeed in every aspect, yet they are endearing. Well round for the most part except for certain moments/scenes, Good shows are exciting rides, full of ups and downs. The great parts of the show tend to trump the negatives, yet they don't completely negate them.
6 - Decent
-Decent shows achieve being entertaining, yet tend to sacrifice other aspects. Noticeable chunks of Decent shows tend to lack good substance (and are often replaced with filler), particularly in respect to the development of characters or plot, yet maintain great animation and music.
5 - Average
-Average shows don't particularly stand out. Average shows have high variance across all aspects, usually having at least one notable aspect and one disappointing aspect which cancel each other out. Usually somewhat entertaining, some moments or episodes can feel a bit grueling to go through (usually filler episodes with no value.) *Note: Other than a few exceptions, shows which I have dropped for a decent amount of time can get an Average score at best.
4 - Lacking
-Shows which are Lacking usually are based off good ideas, yet partially fail in their execution. Though Lacking shows can sometimes excel in certain fields, they often make crucial mistakes which results in disappointing the viewer, as well as some lighter mistakes throughout (such as poorly-used cliches)
3 - Poor
-For the most part, Poor shows are captivating at first, yet they beginning to lose quality as the show goes on. In some cases, certain moments or decisions of Poor shows ruins a majority of the show's purpose.
2 - Failure
-At first glance, Failure shows appear to be entertaining, yet they are a disappointment once completed. Failure shows have little to no redeeming qualities across all fields.
1 - Why?
-Plain and simple, I regret watching any Why? shows. I reserve this score when nothing in particular about the show is redeeming, yet I still finished the show.
