You might be my doppelganger, who knows?
Well, nice to know that. Thanks :D

I started anime in 2011 with OP (one piece) but that was the only thing that I watched.
Came back in 2017 and binged the shit out of my life. That's where I am at right now ^

BNA: Brand New Animal is ambitious. It attempts to craft a fully-realized setting to explore nuanced political themes such as racism, fascism, eugenics, and activism.

Simultaneously, it tells the story of estranged friends, super-powered crime fighters, a government conspiracy, and cults. In twelve episodes. Trigger bit off more they could chew.

Instead of crafting an ambitious original anime, they played it safe and made a cash grab. There are few anime with so much budget and talent that waste it all on lazy writing.

By the end, it crashes and burns in a clusterfuck of disorganized ideas and unintelligible motives so awful it will leave people howling with frustration for how good Brand New Animal could have been.

That's the gist. If you want to know why it made me mad enough to write a 2,400-word review and rate it a 4, read it.

There are times where your score can drop from 8 to 2 in a matter of 1 - 4 episodes. And even if you don't believe it, I've highly enjoyed anime that I've scored with 5 or less. Also watching trash is good so you learn more about what makes something good and what makes something bad. You don't always have to drop something
