I think most people stay in relationships for the wrong reasons. For example, if all women found financial independence today, you'd see an increase in breakups and divorces beginning from tomorrow.
Japan and Korea are incentivizing getting married/having children, but their incentives are short sighted. If both parents have to do a gruelling 9-5 job just to stay afloat in order to manage rent and foods, no amount of gifts/bonuses is going to change the fact that they're too exhausted to even look after a child. Governments need to focus on rising inflation and the constantly increasing property prices, work timings and holidays off work, if they really want people to have children.
Koreans really don't have much of a culture they can call their own. At least in China, even if they're hyper capitalistic by nature, they hold onto their ancient Chinese roots. But Koreans? Nope.
Yes, but it law school, so not exactly easy. They can be challenging, especially because they test not only your understanding of the law but also your ability to apply it to complex fact patterns.
I have exams coming up, so I have been busy with my studies. In one of my class we have a section with 30 multiple choice and another section that is essay and take about 2 hours. All my other exams are essays.
Not really. It's also bc most people view divorce as a taboo/failure of their relationship. Many women are also not independent enough to divorce their husbands bc they're financially dependent on them. Thankfully, this scenario is changing.
Ah, I listened to all your songs but they aren't really the type I enjoy. Maybe you could share newer releases with me?
You're right about the cultural aspect. Apart from India and China, I haven't come across a major movie/music industry that celebrates its culture. I mean, look at Korean songs, for example. 100% Western clothes.
IDK about tiresome, but it's definitely boring to go alone, unless you're the lone-wolf type.
Wow. I can't imagine a family vacation to so many places. Do fights happen between family members? :p
Wow.
So you know something's up and you won't warn me about it. And you call yourself my friend???
Nah, never been abroad and the only time I travelled out of my state was when I was a child and my parents took me bc they had to lol.
I'm too lazy to travel. If good places were nearby, sure, but all I have near my city are other regular cities. My mother is more interested in travelling to religious places but they're far away and it's tough to coordinate holiday dates with my brother and his wife, so things are mostly on the backburner.
Did you travel for work or pleasure?
> Nah, I'm just checking in on you. Glad you're fine.
You speak as if you've stumbled upon an assassination attempt on me.
That was a weird question. Yes, I'm okay. Did someone tell you that I'm not? :p
Also, sadly, it's getting warmer here. The mornings used to be cold but now they're just pleasant. That's sad bc I know what follows is torturously hot weather. Have you ever travelled outside of your country?
It's unlike most movies you've watched bc it takes inspiration from Indian folklore. It's available on Amazon Prime. If you have VPN, adjust the location to India. It'll be available to you with subtitles.
Oh, my. Life is too short to waste your time on something you don't like. I used to be like that too but one fine day I realized nothing is worth torturing myself like this, especially since I'm not being paid to do this. I'd rather watch a movie/series/video or a read a manga that makes me laugh or excites me bc of its content, you know? But that's okay. It's a sentiment often lost on younger people. You'll eventually become like me when you grow older ;p
Ah. I've read The Monkey's Paw. It's a short horror story and I read it back when I was in school. I still remember it bc of how it made me feel. Of course, back then my exposure to content was very little, so this one stuck with me. So then do you watch horror Hollywood movies too?
It snowed here yesterday as well - in a hilly region. Very surprising. Have never heard of snowfall in Feb bc this is the month when winters wane and it becomes warmer.
Well, I'm not afraid of picking up shows and movies, and then dropping them if I dislike them. I've watched and rewatched several films in between the time that we last spoke. So what kind of movies do you watch for work? Are they specific to a certain genre?

Hope we can be good MAL buddies 😄 Looking forward to chatting!
AHA. So you do know something about what's going to happen to me. I knew it.
And yes, you want to finally discuss actual culture. What kind of songs do you like? I'm gonna share a bit of everything with you.
