--although I have to transfer my ratings from discogs. I've been lazy with my rym account.

I had a look at your rym list and saw the band Failure. What a flashback. Probably one of the most underrated alt/grunge bands of the 90s.

That's the commonly held premature assessment when it comes to Argento Soma. It's far from a "low cost" evangelion. If I could describe what it brings to the table in relation to Eva, I would say this:
-Eva relates to the struggle of teens, how they feel that the world is against them before they eventually arrive towards self-acceptance
-Soma relates to the struggles of young adults and the realization that taking ownership and responsibility for their actions is what it truly means to "grow up."

Where Eva deals with teens lashing out, Soma deals with adults learning to stop lashing out and to self-reflect. So in that sense, it's the spiritual successor in the way it chooses to deal with the characters. And personally, for me, it's the one I love more, given just how much it takes from the world of cinema and just how bloody earnest it all is; never once getting arrogant about what it accomplishes.

If you would like a full deep-dive on my thoughts regarding it, I reviewed it:

Thanks, I'm glad you gave the VE review a read. Whether we end up coming to a different conclusion regarding it will be determined when you sit down to view it. I also see you added Flag to your ptw, is that on account to it being in my favs?

Hey there! My Profile pic's actually from the anime Violet Evergarden haha. It was actually based off a light novel I believe so i'm not sure if they adapted it into a manga.

Hey, what happened to your Tumblr? You used to have one, right? Like 5~6 years ago. I could feel your loneliness and isolation just by looking at it. If I ever make a Tumblr is going to be inspired by yours.

inb4 you never even had a Tumblr account and I'm mistaking you for another person. lol

What did you think?

Not Simple left me pretty much rekt. I don't even know what to do with myself tonight.

Will do!

As for that melancholic feeling, it's quite addictive really.

Thanks for the rec. Instantly pulled in by those reviews - ordered it already on Amazon haha. Really looking to get into some new manga as the ongoing ones I'm reading at the moment are slowly drip-feeding me and it's driving me insane.

In all seriousness, I'd have either of them on my list but for some reason I think it seemingly indecisive to have them both there at the same time. In the past I've had Wenli in Reinhard's place.

Very nice to see Shōjo Tsubaki in your favourites. In fact I see you're in to all of the good stuff in that vein. Thanks for the friend request!

The manga is way better paced and continues after the anime ends

I finally watched gunbuster. What can i say, it was good but considering the hype surrounding it I was a bit disappointed,

Oh really? I'm so happy. ReLIFE is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy watching it. I also recommend its webtoon. I watched Mushishi last year and really love it. I'll also Mushishi Zoku Shou, but I don't know when to watch. Do you have any suggestion that you would definitely watch? My favorite genre is slice of life. Maybe it helps. ^^

Is it too obvious? :/ actually I've watched anime for a long time but new in here. I'd love to chat with anime lovers as well, so I added you. Is it okay?
