Episodes 2-4 aren't great, but you dropped that shit lickity split
Let me give you a quick warning: going into Diebuster expecting more in the style of Gunbuster will give you whiplash, like what happened to me at first. It's much more like Gurren Lagann, although the thematic connection to Gunbuster becomes more apparent later on.

it's not like.. explicitly insulting but it has no weight to it. there's little about it that feels captivating or interesting, and the new artstyle is legitimately jarring and ugly. any FMA mainstay aside from ed + al is shoved aside in favor of fanfic shlock, and when roy and riza come in the climax they do *absolutely nothing*
it's just a dumb movie. it outright betrays established lore in the universe (what's with ms. mary sue eating a philosopher's stone and suddenly being able to go super saiyan), it just doesn't feel or like like FMA. there's not much about it that makes me angry but it's very clear it was only made as a cashcow.
