You can't turn away from the truth of anime, maaaan. Actually, I'm tending to think that anime is going more and more for the shock value than ever? Of course, that is great for bringing in new fans; I just hope it doesn't become the evening news. "Witnesses say that the suspect was wearing a necklace was made of vaginas. Tune in at 9 to hear the gruesome details."
Oh that's really interesting; I hear good things about both Taiwan and Canada (except the cold)? I probably didn't, haha, but I suppose that's where the whole "chinese cartoons" meme might come from.
Yeah they have anime around here. I'm not sure how well it does rating-wise since, indeed, everyone in a subculture went to the internet and quit watching TV awhile ago. It's mostly stuff like Attack on Titan and Naruto, though. You know, the bait "come get more" series. I haven't had TV in forever, either; for all I know the programming still consists of voting people off of islands and having singing contests.
Sorry, I could've sworn I got back to you and been super busy lately. Oh, I'm always harsh, I tend to hammer in things too much, haha. Well, on the contrary, weird toothbrushing scenes are the reason I watch anime! No, you know what I mean. I pretty much prefer to watch all the extreme scenes of an anime even if I don't like the show/movie itself.
Mandarin dub of Detective Conan? Really, do you live in a place predominantly chinesel!? You're really fluent, considering. Everything I've seen China adapt in regards to Japan has been super bastardized, haha, kind of like how Hollywood takes things from Japan and ruins them, and vicey versa (Japanese Ninja turtles). Oh yeah, I love Conan; it's such a clever show. I used to watch it on Cartoon Network here in the states, but it's so long I'll never keep track of what I've seen or how many.
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks alot, I wish i had the time to make more reviews but i dont think i have the time. ;). Haha, nice to see a bakemonogatari fan too, and that is a nice compatability we have there. It just means we like similar anime :D.
Haha, I don't think it was ever on top, but I'm thankful the sentiment; people probably assume it's trolling but I really did feel it let me down. You beat me, I couldn't make it through many episodes of Bakemono, although I was promised fanservice and monsters (and later suggestive toothbrushing, which I can respect as it teaches children good hygiene...among other things).
Thanks for reading it, and no, you're far from the only person who didn't enjoy it. You're lucky you dropped it when you did, because the first 10 episodes is essentially what you can expect, it seems. That's almost half of a normal show!
Greetings to Canada! I salute your resistance-to-cold-damage stat!
I guess it depends on what you're looking for. A moe sort of deal with some drama mixed in? Little Busters. Horror? Saya no Uta. Thriller? Steins;Gate. War drama? MuvLuv Alternative. Mystery? YU-NO.
Baldr Sky and Subarashiki Hibi are my two personal favourites, but unfortunately they're untranslated.
