I'm sooooo sorry I took an entire month and a half to finally share my excitement with you.

Kyouko just keeps digging herself further and further into her own grave. Can't believe she thinks Ren is involved with anybody else - especially someone as annoying as this chick! Her performance was brilliant, but I felt like screaming "Keep it together, my child. Do you want to lose your head to Sir Scowl Face?" at the pages. At least Yashiro's realization of the latest romantic developments made it all better haha. Definitely worth the wait :D

Honestly, I'm so proud of you for never venturing into the dark side of the internet. Most fanfic is trash and an insult to the world of literature. I only can stomach the well thought-out ones that have some grasp on the basics of grammar and storytelling lol. I am snobbishly selective.

Aww, your little brother is such a sweetie for being so considerate. I watched Mushishi Zoku Sho with my younger brother this summer when I was visiting le parents, and whenever I hear "Shiver" by Lucy Rose I feel like crying. I miss him so much. It sounds like you've been through quite an emotional storm... Hope you find healing and happiness in whatever form that may take for you :')

Goodness, it seems like One Piece will last for eternity! I was shocked when Naruto finally ended, but then they decided to continue writing Bolt's story so it doesn't seem as bad anymore. I think the idea of losing Studio Ghibli was more traumatic for me. I finally got around to watching Ponyo (with my mom, again during the summer) and can't wait to rewatch it in Japanese alone. Unfortunately I don't find much time for movies but I was able to make some room for "Lilo & Stitch" and "Anastasia" recently.

I'm doing pretty well, thanks! My birthday passed by recently and I think my kinsfolk deemed me old enough to start matchmaking on my behalf. Nuclear family's letting me take these things at my own pace on the other hand and I appreciate the space. So that's been "fun" lmao. Workload is killer as always but I got to spend some quality time with relatives and housemates. Finished Illustration Project #1 and thankfully made a lot more money than I honestly expected to receive (as in, my original asking price prior to negotiations). Then I wrote a story poem last week that I want to turn into a children's book. Planning to finish the drafts for Illustration Project #2 by the end of this year before I send it off to some publishers I know. And Illustration Project #3 is something I started a couple years back and just picked up again at the request of my friends. I haven't quite figured out the coding to make it look the way I want it to on my website. Hoping to tackle that problem whenever I get a chance to breathe XD

Please keep me in your prayers! I'm in desperate need of both sanity and success.

Uwaaah! I didn't realize that Nakamura-sensei was taking a short break (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ But don't worry - we'll survive this, and I have just the medicine for our ailment...

Forbearance Starter Pack:
Real Clothes (myanimelist.net/manga/14700/Real_Clothes) - Surprisingly refreshing characters and realistic workplace/romance drama. I think you'll be hooked like I was. Best of all there's only seven chapters left to be translated.
Arslan Senki (myanimelist.net/manga/51233/Arslan_Senki?) - Drawn by the same artist responsible for Full Metal Alchemist, but the plot and setting are very different. So far, I'm really digging this historical action manga.

Hey, don't worry. I can't fault you for the long absence. Been busy with work and book illustrations on my end so I feel ya. I'm glad you're enjoying Yakusoku no Neverland, btw. I needed someone to be hyped up with me cause I can't handle these weekly cliffhangers all by meself (ヾ; ̄▽ ̄)ヾ

Oh my gooooood, Kazykoki~! You have to read Chapter 247 ASAP - it's a total riot!

Also, I highly, highly recommend a manga called The Promised Neverland. You love it. Each chapter is perfect insanity.
PaladinAlchemist Apr 3, 2017 3:59 AM
Thanks! :) I'm glad to meet another Finder fan. It's one of the best yaoi ever. And I'm so glad it's finally getting new chapters again. Can't wait to share more of the love together!!!

Hey~ :D Sorry that we probably don't talk that much even though we're friends, but I made a Discord server some time ago and thought, "Why not add my friends on MyAnimeList?" We're all *cough* nice *cough* people who are active and meme a lot, so feel free to join if you want to waste time with us! ;3c https://discord.gg/9GQ5g4K

Hey

How you doing these days?
Aeowina Dec 17, 2016 10:54 AM
A writer, huh? Fufu... Maybe I'll finally finish that book I've been meaning to get around to for the past year lol. In all honesty, I feel like my writing prowess has been simultaneously getting better and worse over time. Weird, huh?

Oh my god and AMEN, sister! I could not imagine writing a thesis in a different language - I don't think I could acquire a foreign one fast enough. Even if I had achieved a reasonable/coherent level of fluency, it still wouldn't be up to par with academic standards. Best of luck in your studies <3

(Dramatic whisper: I hope I'm not killing the class.) But yay for the holidays! We have a month off from work - which means it's time to get as many back-burner projects done as possible. What do you like doing in your free time, besides cooking?

Oops... I just realized that asking that is probably rubbing salt in open wounds seeing as you have that exam coming up. (Ugh, the pain is real.) But don't sweat it too hard, my friend. Crack 'em like eggs and eat 'em for breakfast ;)

I'm currently feeling that empty feeling you can only get from finishing a good story. It's Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria's fault this time. Had Jon Bellion's "All Time Low" on loop as I marathoned the last three volumes after discovering the clean version of the song earlier tonight. It was a strangely fitting soundtrack... Helped the "wow, this crazy year is finally winding down to an end" sink in.

And on that note, let me wish you a happy new year and many more to follow. For whatever reasons, 2016 will be unforgettable. Thanks for being part of it.

Sincerely,
Aeowina

P.S. I hope you enjoyed the verbal quips I accidentally sprinkled throughout this message. Hopefully it makes up for my characteristically late reply XD
313_Archer Dec 9, 2016 6:37 PM
Hahahaha - you skipped school to read it!?! That's hilarious. XD I've stayed up late before reading more manga than I should, but never skipped out on class to read it. I can totally understand how that could happen, though!

I've started the Finder series, actually. My sister is 10000% obsessed with it (she told me she wrote on your wall to talk about it lolol). For the series is, uh, a little graphic. It's a bit of a shock for me. I might adjust, but I'm always like "gah! What is THAT doing in my face again!!!" But I'll admit Asami is as sexy as he is bad XD

I'm more of a sucker for the sweeter stories I guess. I really liked Only the Flower Knows and a Cruel God Reigns (which isn't sweet at all, but it freaking amazing emotional rollercoaster. I swear I love that one).

I know the feeling of catching up to a great manga series. I just caught up to Kingdom, which is not only the best manga I've ever read, it's one of the best stories I've ever come across in any medium. I LOVE that series. It's not yaoi, but it's damn amazing.

I get what you mean, though. I love yaoi and am lucky enough to have a sister who does too, because we can talk about it all the time, but I feel so embarrassed admitting it to anyone else. It's like "should I like this???" and when I read it and get all fuzzy or teary over one and I'm like "ug, shit, why do I care so much?" but it makes me happy, so in the end I think it's okay :D

No, no, rant away about yaoi!! I'm all for it.

Yeah, no SNK really pissed me off. I don't understand why you'd string fans like that on purpose. So I'll probably read the rest of it at some point, but yeah, I don't really care anymore. Easier to disconnect that deal with that shit.

Studying by myself is pretty hard, to be honest. Sometimes I feel like I've learned lot and other times I'm like "I'll never learn this shit" and want to give up (though I won't, duh). But yeah, it's hard for my poor brain to grasp some of these concepts, but I'm glad the Chinese is helping you out!!

Let's hope! I'll send you a PM once I know the dates.

No! How dare you have a life!?!? That's not allowed ;) I look forward to your replies, my yaoi spirit buddy.

Oh, are you watching Yuri On Ice!!! *shrieks in a high pitched voice* It's so good. I'm dying over it. The ship is real and canon and killing me.
PaladinAlchemist Dec 7, 2016 4:27 AM
Hello, not to be a creeper, but I saw you gushing about Finder on my sister's profile (she's 3-13 Alchemist, I stalk her profile to see how she's rating shows we're currently watching). I agree 100% with every word you said about it. I could go on forever about how much I'm addicted to it. Akihito is the greatest uke ever, and Asami is just so freaking hot. I ship them so hard, which is saying a lot considering how they meant lol. It's my favorite yaoi so far (and I seriously doubt anything will de-throne it anytime soon).
Aeowina Nov 13, 2016 11:20 PM
Haha, yes - it really is me. Your reaction to my saying "hello" is such a delight! And of course I haven't forgotten about you. I'm the kind of person who often thinks about her childhood friends and former classmates, wondering where they are in life... But I'm terrible at keeping in touch with them. Too busy, busy, busy with my own soap opera ;)

Still studying abroad, I see! I'm glad to hear you're having fun. (Lol - all in good time, my friend. I too have yet to find the Gilbert Blythe to my Anne Shirley. Let us simply enjoy the perks of singlehood to the max.)

As for me, I'm still wrestling with Arabic. Sometimes I wonder why I slave over it before having a small opening that makes the hard work completely worth it. I live for those little miracles because it proves that I'm making progress. I also started teaching an extracurricular class for kids and my students are total cuties. They can drive us crazy sometimes, but I love them anyway. And with the help of my supportive roommate, I am getting marginally better at cooking.

Since we both like Akatsuki no Yona, how about giving Akagami na Shirayuki a go? Both female protagonists are strong-willed redheads, and the characters and settings are nicely fleshed out. If you're looking for a modern school romance, I'd recommend Akuma to Love Song. Another one that I'm really enjoying is "Real Clothes" which has a very different style (harhar, it's all about a salesgirl entering the fashion industry). They all have a good number of chapters out, but I'm currently caught up and waiting for the rest to come out/be scantalated.

Welp, I better get back to my writing now. I'm trying not to wait until the eve of the deadline, but obviously this excursion onto MAL indicates my inability to not be a Professional Crastinator. Ciao for now ^u^
Aeowina Nov 3, 2016 10:30 PM
Hey, kazykoki! How have you been? I felt like we haven't chatted in awhile and realized that I never happened to reply to your last comment. I must have been super busy at the time or something. (I've really been relishing in manga because I simply don't have the opportunity to watch much anime. When I do, it's usually on the holidays with my little brother lol)

Excuses aside, what's going on in your world? Learn anything new recently? Meet someone interesting? Relived a nostalgic childhood experience?

I hope that you're enjoying life as much as I am. Ttyl, old friend =)
313_Archer Aug 29, 2016 12:44 PM
What are you talking about? I’m never sarcastic.

;p

Yeah, hanging in there-ish. I sort of given up on teaching English in Japan at the moment. I plan on vacationing there next year and will decide if it’s something I really want to pursue once I’ve been there. Plus, I’m looking for a new job here right now so . . .

Oh, have you? How is learning Japanese going? Why do you think the opportunity may be coming?? You got me all curious now. :D

Haikyuu!! Stresses me too. So much stress. When I almost cried at the end of the first season, I was so embarrassed. Crying over a scripted, boys volleyball game . . . but gaaaah , it’s so good!! I almost did cry. Lololol I’m glad you like it too (but I’m not surprised (: )

Third season is coming up and I’m excited!!

Yeah, Shouwa is great. I’m glad you’re watching it! That’s supposed to get a season two, and I'm def. going to watch. I loved the subtly and maturity of the whole show. I wish my Japanese was a little better so I could understand those stories in their native language, but it was still a really great show. Best new franchise of the season for me.

Eh, there WAS yaoi-ness, but ½ of the pairing died and it sort of made the couple as canon as you can get without being officially canon, but the way they killed the character really, really pissed me off. In the vaguest terms possible, what happened was one character (in the ship) and another character (not in the ship) were in a situation where only one could live. The plot came about after MONTHS of the character in the ship’s life being in mortal danger. Then that person just dies. It was exhausting, pointless, and played on your emotions deliberately. I don’t care if you kill a character, but what the hell is the point of keeping your hopes alive for, I kid you not, EIGHT months. I was strung along for EIGHT months hoping this character would live (and kept getting teased that they could still be alive)—and then we get this “only one can live” situation (which is stupid and had the fandom at each other’s throats, it got SUPER nasty). In the end, my character seemed like the survive and sudden, no, that character died. It was ridiculous money grab, in my opinion. I didn’t appreciate it and have put the series on a couple of month hold, because the character who died almost happened to be one of my two favorites . . .

Wowowow. Sorry for the rant. REALLY sore about the whole thing though. Hope I was vague enough not to spoil anything :p

It would all be in season 3 anyways, and I’m not sure if season 2 will ever come out (or if I care, at the moment )

Finder??? I’m just starting to read some Yaoi (reading Totally Captivated right now, it’s pretty good. Also reading Complex, which I like). Yes, I’ve finally started take that plunge. So, what is this Finder series???

(I think someone is translating Shouwa now too)
