I saw that you also finished Hoozuki no Reitetsu! I gave it a 7/10 score as well, I expected to like it less so that's a neat surprise, let's see how it goes with it next season!

Rebuilds are definitely interesting, I wasn't really huge on them but they're still fun! Hopefully you enjoy them.

As for my other two favorites, I hope you enjoy them both as well!
I would suggest you to start with Tutu, a grim fairy tale with a dark atmosphere but never recurring to shock factors like Madoka does. The storytelling is unique, the characters have good development, but this hides in what seems a child show at first. Can't recommend it enough!
Lain is more surreal, cryptic and outright confusing. Is a social criticism with a bittersweet story. Demands a lot of attention so if you're not in the right mood you won't either like it nor understand it. So take that in mind before jumping to the Wired

And thanks!! Oooh, TTGL before NGE? I went the other way around, though if you're newer into the mecha scene. It felt like NGE was more of a response to the mecha anime that had come before it, while TTGL is a love letter to that era... but really, can't go wrong with either!! Definitely let me know what you think of them, since I really loved TTGL (even though it doesn't make my top 25 :( ).
