My score went down pretty fast. Had it as a 2 not long ago, but I strongly dislike it, and thoughts of finishing it fill me with dread. I wrote a review for it. In short: horrendously poor aesthetic and atmosphere. I thus far despise these series that have an expendable cast, and I think every anime and manga that has done this is bad. And while the character writing seems decent enough at times, all the other factors and cheesy parts like episode 5 18 mins in detract from it, and geo vs helio is kind of old hat and not that interesting to me. Otherwise, it's kind of pretty standard plucky rebels versus frowny-face empire series, just more heavily focused on ideals.

Yeah, I'm loving it so far. One of the greatest rom coms I've ever seen.

That's probably everything I want an anime to do, I very much love commentaries on such topics, and it sounds curious how they've done it, only makes me want to watch it more. I just hope it's easier for me to get than the '95 movie, I know its good but for some reason it just never struck me the way it strikes some people. Thanks brother.

I was kind of disappointed as I had high expectations.

I think it's just enough to go see the show without expecting too much of the workmanship. Well, some people like this movie, so if you actually see it, chances are you will like it.

I'm thinking about watching it again, because I'm not sure about the part where I fell asleep.

If you like anime, it's fun to imagine which company made which part of the movie, because other companies besides Studio Ghibli are listed in the staff roll as collaborating companies.

No, I'm glad I didn't have to use my luck to reserve a seat, not so much lucky as not so lucky, since the new Ghibli movie, the first one on the first day, was not as crowded as other anime movies.

As for me, I actually fell asleep for about 10 minutes in the second half of the new movie. Considering that, I guess I didn't find it that interesting.

The movie is based on a novel. I read the comicalized version many years ago. The content of it was not so much to my personal liking. I think it is better to see the movie and the novel as two different things.

My friend who went to see the movie with me also said that she fell asleep and was unconscious for a few seconds in the second half, and there were people in the same row in the theater who were even breathing in their sleep and sleeping in the first half, so I think it is different for different people whether it is interesting or not.
