If you want shows that twist the genres and are parodies and comedy - then these are both great! They are both creative and funny shows with male casts of shoujo manga with twists. In LOVE! the guys are sort of like a male version of Sailor Moon - while in Sekkou Boys - the idols are literally idols (statues). The parodies and humor don't stop there, so if you are in the mood for something different than a regular shoujo romance check these out and be prepared to laugh!

The mc's of these seinens are known for their talent with a gun, as well as a certain uh physical trait they have in common that they are infamous for, one of them has the street name Dual Pistols if that tells you. Both mc's are both also on the perverted side. The personalities of the mc's and the guy being teamed for work with a female partner are also similar. These are a good for readers who enjoy mature seinen manga with plenty of action, crime and eechi.

Nanoka no Kare
add

If you like traditional shoujo romances like Crazy for You, I think you will like Nanoka no Kare. The male lead in Crazy for You is a playboy, while neither of the guys is that in Nanoka no Kare are that but one has a bad boy vibe. The female lead mets the guy and falls for him although the set ups of how she meets the guys are very different. Also the patterns of the relationships are different, but each has similar shoujo elements. Each girl also goes out with another guy for a while. There are triangles and breakups and drama in both of these shoujos and these are series. Crazy for You is a complete shoujo from several years back while Nanoka no Kare is an ongoing one and already longer than the first. Nanoka no Kare is one of the better ones with this type of story for fans to enjoy.

If you liked Strobe Edge you should check out Nanoka no Kare and I think you will find it even better. The girls in each go after the guy she likes, but the female lead in Nanoka is a strong straightforward sort of girl and I liked her better as a heroine in many ways, while the female lead in Stobe Edge also really wants to win the guy. They each feature drama, and romance and triangles, with breakups. The male leads are more competitive in Nanoka no Kare. If you liked the story in Stobe Edge you will probably like Nanoka no Kare and I think you will like the female lead more. The guys in Nanoka no Kare are well drawn and appealing to shoujo fans.

Koudai-ke no Hitobito
add

If you like the comedy in Kuragehime (Princess Jellyfish) - I would recommend Koudai-ke no Hitobito. -First off - they both have top rate humor. Their art is great, distinct and along a similar vein. The characters, their antics, and oddball traits really make these manga shine - they don't focus just on the mc's - these mangakas really develop a full cast of unique funny side characters, families and backstories for your entertainment. They each feature romance between a socially awkward odd young woman and a handsome guy - however, If you are tired of standard settings and school romance and want something different try these. The guys are attracted to the girls for things very different from looks, they like their imaginations, minds and creativity. In Kuragehime the heroine draws jellyfish while in Koudai-ke the heroine has an imagination where she pictures things out of fairy tales. A difference between them would be Kuragehime features gender-bending while Koudai does not. These pro mangakas give us character development, plot, depth and heart within comedy that is more than surface giggles. Oh and they are really funny! I would recommend these to all audiences - they are true gems.

Luck Stealer
add

Somehow the characters of Until Death Do Us Part and Luck Stealer seem similar, each features both fighting, action, and killing as well as psychic powers. The mc's of these act heroically yet stoically, they do what they do for the sake of another, and each has certain flaws that hang over them, even though their abilities are well above others. They both defend and protect someone who is hunted by opponents who want to use and exploit them. Also each features a mature male lead and a young girl although the circumstances are quite different. They each have sort of a hero that is like the heroes of western comics like Batman or Spiderman in some ways. If you like heroic male leads and action I would suggest both of these.

City of Darkness
add

If you are a fan of Until Death Do Us Part, I would suggest City of Darkness, if you like action and fighting seinens they both feature that, with mc's that are loyal and work with a group. In Until Death Do Us Part, that is more combat, war, swordfighting, high tech and psychic powers while in City of Darkness it's gangs, mafia, and street fights. They come from different places of origin - City of Darkness is set in Hong Kong in a specific time period and deals with gangs and the triads while Until Death Do Us Part is more modern. Each has a excellent and distinctive art style. The mc's sometimes become friends with their rivals, yet each also has enemies that do inhuman acts as well. The characters and cast of both are very entertaining and I find they have a good mixture of enjoyment and tension.

Hannune Banhada! Season 2
add

If you like Pink Lady I would recommend Love At First Sight (Hannune Banhada!) both season 1 and season 2. Season 2 is longer, however, you really need the background setup in season 1 the prequel first. Basically Season1 and Season 2 are the same manhwa but split into two titles. Pink Lady and Pink Lady Classic and Love at First Sight have fated lovers who meet as childhood friends and for some strange reason both partners try to fight acknowledging that they love each other and so hurt feelings ensue and some drama. These manhwa are good love stories and the interactions of the pairs at times are similar. Each is a complex love story that evolves overs years with some flashbacks. Pink Lady has colorful art, while Love At First Sight focuses on the supernatural powers of psychic abilities and fortune telling and the red thread of fate.

The mc's of Song of the Long March and Saver are similar in that these strong heroines hide their gender and act and dress as men. Song of the Long March has a historic setting, while Saver is a fantasy, and Change is weaker physically than the sword fighter Ley, but they both are cool headed thinkers who possess similar leadership abilities. If you like strong heroines and good stories with politics and fighting I would recommend both of these.

Love in the Mask
add

If you like very strong female characters you might like Saver and Love in the Mask. In each of these, the girl is a physically and mentally tough fighter who poses as and lives as a male although the circumstances are different, they both have to conceal their gender and fight men. These heroines take on that role and even have to hide this from the guy that they love and both are reverse harems but gender benders. The stories of both of these are quite good and I loved both of them - they are different settings. In Saver, she travels to another world and time and is drawn in to the politics and battles, while in Love in the Mask, she is a bodyguard and has to work and fight with gangsters. These heroines in these manhwa seem tough and cold but it is because of what they have to do in life and these stories have plenty of action and fighting.

Hope
add

If you liked Bakuman and you read shoujo, I would suggest the manga Hope as a recommendation. These mangas are both about main characters striving to become professional mangakas. However the obstacles they run into are different, as the character in Hope endures a lot of bullying from other girls along the way. Although the main characters of these two manga are opposite sexes, they have similar personalities because they are hard working and keep pushing towards their goals. Hope is a mature shoujo, not a fluff one, and the mangaka who wrote it has bullyiing as the theme in a lot of her manga, so the tone of them can be different. But if you love manga and art and like to read stories about the pursuit of that goal they are both good examples. They are both complete but Hope is still being translated in English.

When I started reading Sekisei Inko, I was reminded right away of Oyasumi Punpun. Each main character has a voice which speaks to them and some similar twisted circumstances around them. Aruitou
add

Aruitou is more complex than it seems from the start, in a similar vein, the author of Hana Yori Dango and Cat Street gives us a plucky heroine in Tora to Ookami. Although the heroine in Tora to Ookami is hardworking and the heroine in Aruitou is free-spirited, they both have an resilency to them and optimism that I think will resonate with shoujo lovers. Unrequited love for an artist is a theme in both manga.

Nemurenu ou ni Sasagu Yogatari is a manga based on a fairy tale of One Thousand and One Arabian Nights and Hanatsukihime is also a fairy tale type manga set in the desert. Both partners are connected by a strange fate and a curse yet find love.

This was originally a recommendation for the one shot that began Nisekoi, the one shot has been merged into a series of one shots anyway if you liked Yankee Kun I think you will like the one shot that started the other series. It is a comedy about yakuza and gangsters so if you like comedy or delinquent stories I think you will enjoy. It is a new one shot and series in Jump. Both the main guy and girl are top students but they fight a lot - she is much tougher than him. Their families want them to date to stop gang warfare but they don't get along at all. So romantic comedy and situation comedy. It is new but hopefullyl it will be good. Make sure you read the Nisekoi one-shot before you read the series!!

My Beautiful World
add

If you like Cheese in the Trap, I would suggest My Shiny World as a new manhwa you might enjoy. They each have settings of a female mc in a university setting. The girls have very different charcters from each other, yet both look at the world differently and more seriously than their peers. Each also has a stalker so the girls outlook on things is sometimes darkened by that. The stories are sort of slice of life yet also psychological. My Shiny World is newish and ongoing while Cheese in the Trap is over 180 chapters. If you like stories that involve a psychological theme and mysterious elements in a regular setting I think you will enjoy these.

These full color manhwas are josei set in a university setting with female lead characters that seem rather disconnected from those around them, their reasons for that are different and the themes are different but I think that if you liked the one you would like the other. Both have a psychological element of how the girls look at the world, only My Shiny World is darker and more psychological and Pink Lady is more colorful and based on art.

If you like Black Butler - you might like Vartrag Tale. These historical supernatural gothic stories feature a contract between a demon and a young boy. Vartrag Tale is a shoujo and shouen ai and complete. They both have shouen ai / bl type elements to them and they have a European type setting, although the demons are different. In Kuroshitsuji the demon is a butler but in Vartrag Tale he is a long haired winged demon lord but both feature the demon being a good looking mature male and the boy being an adolescent. Black Butler has much more real world settings and horror while Vartrag features angels and supernatural elements.

In Kaichou wa Maid-sama we have a strong girl who works for a living. If you liked that about her being a strong female lead that helps support her family working after school and the other interactions of the story - I think you will like ReRe Hello. The female lead is also a hard working girl. In this one she works for a rich boy who lives alone, so some things about that dynamic are also similar. They are very enjoyable, high quality shoujos for readers that appreciate that. The male leads in both of them are also great guys. ReRe Hello is more realistic than Maid Sama and the characters are solid and down to earth.

If you like HanzaSky you might want to go on to reading Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru. First of all these are both martial arts, sports manga featuring karate and training to be stronger. However, Karate is a more mature manga that is a seinen and it's much longer at 500 chapters. But if you enjoy sports manga and martial arts manga try both of these. We see a lot more development of Minoru in 500 chapters of course and it's art, detailing muscles and fights is very strong and well drawn. Sometimes the seinen contains eechi and mature themes. They are both completed in Japan but both still being translated to English.

Martial arts manga centering on karate - both HanzaSky and Full Contact are shounen mangas of young guys training hard to become stronger and better martial artists. They differ in the art types. Full Contact has cleaner art, while Hanza Sky's art is rough but energetic. Hanza Sky has a delinquent turning to martial arts while Full Contact is more about a guy's growth from starting in the martial arts more traditionally. They are complete but all the translations are done on Full Contact a while ago while Hanza Sky has had lags in translations but started up again.

The relationships of the characters in these josies are similar in the way they treat each other and ideas about marriage are a major theme. The couple in Hapi Mari have an arranged marriage, while the female lead in Totsuzen has her goal to get married before she meets the guy. They feature a career girl paired with a successful guy. The female leads are both in their twenties but have somewhat different personalities, with the girl in Totsuzen being more outspoken. I think that readers who like one will like the other.

These seinens are set in the time in France leading up to and including the French Revolution and both deal with the subject of law, crime, and punishment being out of order due to the differences in the different classes of society with that society and those problems as the backdrop that these men are up against. Both are true seinens showing the injustice of the society. Innocent is more graphic as it deals with an executioner having to deal with his conscience for the things he has to do for his job, while Jean ValJean in Les Miserables is a man convicted of a crime serving a punishment that far outways what he did. Innocent is not an easy read and is for mature readers as it has a lot of gore. They have high quality art and these artists often use symbolism to portray the thoughts of their characters.

These fantasy stories have mythical dragons coming to aide a fighter, swordsmen and battles. In each there is a vow from the past of a dragon coming to the aide of the nobles. The art in each story is good and sets the tone of the mythical fantasies well. They both have handsome heroes. A difference is that Yasashii Ryuu is a shounen-ai - while Akatsuki no Yona is a shoujo but I think that both are a treat to fans of fantasy art.
