Dude from italy, i really like anime and manga and my taste changed a lot since i started in 2008,going from shonen to more mature shows to a more artistic view and this journey shaped my taste as it is today.
i think the "HOW" is more important than the "WHAT", so I watch everything as long as i think it's good , I don't have problems with genres, lenght or themes, the only thing that matters is my enjoyment, how the show impacts my life and how much I think about it after I finish it.
Likes : Anime, Manga, Movies, Football, Chess, Lasagna, Organizing everything in lists and tables in an unhealty way, analysis of art, Music (most forms of Rock, Rap, Metal, Techno,Vaporwave, and basically everything that i can fantasise being a shonen hero with)
dislikes : art that doesn't tell me anything and Zucchini
writers :
Gen Urobuchi(Fate/zero,Psycho Pass, Madoka Magica)
Nobumoto Keiko (Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy)
Ryogo Narita(Baccano!, Durarara)
Kazuki Nakashima(Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill)
director :
Masaaki Yuasa (Ping Pong, the Tatami Glaxy,Night ia Short, Devilman Crybaby)
Naoko Yamada (Koe no Katachi, K-on!)
Ei Aoki (Fate/Zero, Kara no Kyoukai 1, Wandering Son)
Hideaki Anno (Evangelion, Kare Kano)
Satoshi Kon

Hayao Miyazaki (you know the guy)
Shinichiro Watanabe(Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy)
Masayuki Kojima (Monster, Made in Abyss)
Hey, sorry for the late reply. Glad you enjoyed it!
I mean, that's fair. I do think that the positive stuff you see in Texhnolyze is moreso bittersweet, given that the show deals a lot with the idea of existential nihilism.
Yoshii is great, definitely one of my favorite antagonists in anime. Texhnolyze has an absolutely fantastic cast IMO, and it really helps enhance the show seeing these people struggle in the abandoned city they inhabit.
What did you not understand with Doc? I might be able to help you understand her character.
