Hi! I like watching anime and it might be obvious which types of shows I like the most! I'm all for every single genre, and I would love to get more into SOL, Romance, and Music shows.

HATES:
When a show kills the source material. What a disappointment!
Glorification of touchy themes such as: rape, discrimination, or grotesque/unusual violence. If you can't handle these themes tastefully, don't explore them.
Baiting feelings by killing characters without real development. Who cares?
WAY TOO EDGY ANIME: Skeletons? BIG NO NO. Those things are like in all of us man.
Pineapples on pizza. It just doesn't taste good. Sorry.
Plot armor that doesn't make sense! You got tossed into outer space, you should be dead lmfao.
50th Anime:Owari no Seraph Nagoya Kessen-hen - 6/10
100th Anime:Inuyashiki: - 7/10
Shows:
Kuroko no Basuke: Personal favorite just because I LOVE watching basketball and I just take it for what it is, a hype-filled shounen that is over the top, but that's why it's great.
Boku no Hero Academia: Season 2 tipped me over and I couldn't get enough of it! Just straight up hype and really fun characters!
Sora yori mo Tooi Basho: This show is so bubbly and lovable! The cast of girls just bounce off each other and are all so amazing in their own ways with the depth they are given! I smiled through every episode, I love it so much!
Monogatari Series: Lots of monologue and dialogue BUT accompanied with great character development and art style. Has an amazing cast of female characters and has a nice sense of humor with characters that are so dynamic.
Characters:
Shouko Nishimiya: Must always be protected, is the sweetest character ever, and always tries her best!
Phosphophyllite: The growth Phos experiences throughout the show is amazing! One of the best character arcs where the character is strong from beginning to end!
Kazuma Satou: The definition of satisfying MC. Hilarious in his own right and is what brings the show together.
Cast of Sora yori mo Tooi Basho: I'll cheat on this one. I love all four of them so much, but they are at their best when they are all together. Amazing chemistry with each other and they all bring out the best in each other!
I made this arbitrary scoring system that just ended up working for me as I kept using it. It felt like I was continually being consistent with my scoring between shows and trying my best to take recency bias out of scores. I assigned one point to things I think every 10/10 anime should have.
Scoring ranking:
• 1 point: Strong Characters
• 1 point: Strong Character Development
• 1 point: Strong plot
• 1 point: Good Pacing/Flow of Events
• 1 point: good animation/style
• 1 point: No major plot holes (4 strikes)
- If comedy/Pure SOL:
Episodes that don’t make me laugh
• 1 Point: Not many bad clichés (4 strikes)
- If comedy/Pure SOL:
Parts make me groan/genre clichés
• 1 point: Beginning
• 1 point: World Building
• 1 point: Conclusion
And here are some bonus points that get special rules basically because of my favorite things.
Positive bonus:
• +0.25: sucks me in a fandom (monogatari)
• +2: gets me to cry.
• +0.25: the very very good character exception. (shinoa)(shouko) (can get multiple points)
• +0.25: 4+ GOOD INDIVIDUAL OST (tokyo ghoul)
• +0.25: AMAZING VISUALS (monogatari)
• +0.50: COMPLETE MINDFUCK MOMENT (STEINS GATE)
• +0.25: VERY Different Premise! (Houseki no Kuni)
Negative bonus:
• -0.50: ruins amazing potential (tokyo ghoul rule)
• -0.50: trying to get impact from killing an undeveloped character (Akame ga Kill rule)
• -0.50: fails an attempted edgy appeal (black bullet rule)
• -1.00: uses racism, gender discrimination, rape (in a very offensive way), or anything that offends me (ousama game rule... ugh)
• -0.50: way too much obvious plot armor (SAO)
•-0.50: the "fuck you, we wont actually make a real ending" ending (gangsta. rule)
•-0.50: A Certain Aspect is SO BAD (berserk 2016 Rule)
I know it isn't perfect and seems tedious, pointless, stupid, etc. But whatever it's how I'll score things and it's fine this way. Now, yes this scoring system does cater towards the more serious plot heavy shows. I do like those shows more, but I've been trying to find things that can replace some point based on the genre of the show. I.E. some SOL would get destroyed by this system, despite me kind of liking it (even though I don't generally watch those shows). Also, if I really really do like a show, I tend to be more lenient towards scoring it, just like everyone else does with their own personal favorite shows.
