This manga is a prequel of Hana nomi zo Shiru, but it can be read as a standalone story and works very well on its own.
The story is simple yet powerful, it works around the conflict in a straightforward manner that feels refreshing.
The characters are well written and real. There's not much room for character development on such a short manga, but they still stand out as unique. As for the art, it's simply beautiful, as it's usually the case with this artist.
Fro those who are bothered by graphic sex scenes, there is one in this manga, but it fits into the plot

Dog Style is a perfect balance between comedy, fluff, drama and sex. The story is nothing special, but it's refreshing and well executed and very enjoyable to read. It avoids many of the typical yaoi cliches, especially the uke/seme dynamics.
Miki and Teru are both well written and developed and the manga gives insight for both of them. Their dynamics are interesting and believable, and they have great chemistry. There's also no typical seme/uke power dynamics, one tops and the other bottoms but they stand as equals and both have an active role during sex (because you know, being a bottom doesn't equal to being passive). ...

One of my favorite yaoi mangas ever. The story is full of cliches, but it's well done, it's adorable, and the characters and likeable and easy to symphatize with. In addition, the art is very pretty.
The way the characters deal with their sexualities is well handled and realistic, something I don't often see in yaoi. They both get character development and their relationships grows in a way that feels natural and makes you want to root for them. Overall, a really cute manga for all those that want an adorable love story with some sex. It leaves a nice aftertaste.

I started reading this manga because it's popular, the art is nice and the story seemed interesting, so I thought it was woth a shot. I was very dissappointed.
I guess whether you will enjoy this manga or not depends on what you're looking for in a yaoi comic. If you simply want well drawn porn and don't mind huge amounts of creepiness and borderline rape with stereotypical characters, fantastic, Ten Count is for you. If you want something more, though, run away from this as fast as you can. For the record, I do enjoy porn without plot. I also like more serious stories. ... |
