외모지상주의 (lookism) is a pretty good korean webtoon. i enjoy it a lot. my experience with korean webtoons so far have been far superior to manga and also rewarding to read. i've only read a few (lookism, stalker, and cherry boy, that girl) but i enjoyed them thoroughly. i don't know how common korean webtoons are (i stumbled upon all three by chance) but if you have any recommendations i'd really appreciate any.

so the reason i included 'lookism' in my bio is because it isn't in the MAL database, and also because i think it's pretty good. so i guess now i'll start posting stuff in my bio that isn't on MAL so i can keep track of it.
so here's another:
"Chibiham" (

it's not really manga but it's close enough and you can derive the same enjoyment from it. if you like molester man you might like chibiham. although it's textpost-based, there are little illustrations on each page. and reddit is where the series originated, from the fatpeoplestories subreddit (reddit.com/r/fatpeoplestories if you want to kill some time. sort from top/all time) where a lot of the terms chibiham uses is native to. i am a reddit user though, so it's format of storytelling appeals to me. others (you) might not be as fond of it.
so yeah, chibiham is about a fat person. but it's also pretty great for the reason it doesn't exist to poke fun at fat people. in fact, aside from dedicating herself to an entire project telling the tale of her cousin, chibiham, the author isn't as malicious as you'd think, given the nature and origin place of the story. in fact, she's quite innocuous.
at the time i'm writing this i haven't finished chibiham yet (40 pages in) but i did scroll down on the link to see how many pages there were, and it appears chibiham loses weight later on. since the story is about chibiham, it's natural for there to be some character development and having seen the later pages where chibiham has lost weight confirms that. afterall, losing weight at chibiham's weight requires a lot of discipline, especially if you've been overweight your whole life like chibiham. right from the beginning, you can tell for yourself how spoiled and self-serving chibiham (who is supposedly a real person by the way) is. and so i think that's pretty interesting; the knowledge of a later transformation is promising.
and as i was researching more into the background of chibiham (the story, not the person!), i found the official chibiham facebook page and one of the last few posts was an update on chibiham (post weight loss) which i'll link here. better yet, read it after you've read the first 40 pages of chibiham like i have, because it contains unintroduced characters (and chibiham herself, you'll get more of a feel out of the update if you knew what she was like beforehand) and minor references to the story up to page 40 that make it all the more a great read.

also, this wasn't on purpose, but both of these "manga" (lookism is a webtoon, dunno what chibiham would be classified as) have weight as a heavy theme.

I'm also going to post the manga I've read that I really liked for my own sake, so here's a list:
Densetsu Angel
Liar Game
Noragami
Onani Master Kurosawa
Molester Man
Lookism
Koe no Katachi
Life
Assassination Classroom
