Spice and Wolf isn't your regular anime. It's not weird but the setting is unique: you've got a medieval setting in Europe. Characters are adults. It's really good. But you also have to have the right attitude: it's based on interactions with 2 main characters: Holo and Lawrence. So there will be a lot of talking. Also, there's quite a bit of medieval trading mechanics and stuff. And most importantly: Holo is a fox deity, so from time to time she appears naked. Just don't brush it off as a furry fanservice anime in the early episodes because it's soo much more than that. Plus Holo is one of the best female characters out there.

Yeah, this show had a couple of things that I disliked as well. Now I simply can't force myself to watch Kai because my break between S1 and S2 is growing too large. To be honest I found this show mediocre/fine and it's hard for me to find proper arguments to support that simply because I forgot a lot of about it since I've finished watching it.

I'm glad you liked it. Yeah, both soundtracks are from the same composer and she specialises in these darker shows. Not a problem, feel free to ask about recs, I'll try to find next one that you will enjoy as much as this one. Oh and also - there's a set of films that continue the story. You can feel free to skip the first two as they are simply recaps of the story featured in the TV show. Just simply jump into Rebbelion (3rd movie) if you want. Just keep in mind that - at least in my opinion - it's not as good.

Cool. I whish I had a friend that I could watch animu with in real life.
So what do you think about SAO and Plastic Memories? I haven't seen the rest. Oh, 5 Centimeters per Second was a pretty good one. I liked that different approach to storytelling, artstyle and soundtrack. And in managed to make me feel genuinely sad over the course of just 60 minutes.

Yeah, it does everything that a good anime should do. Manages to tell a complete story in 22 episodes, has a good plot, mature characters and no fanservice. I wish there were more anime like this.

Whatever, after all it looks decent and that's all that matter nowadays. Eh.

Oh, and you've changed your animelist style, nice. It's Yato if I'm not mistaken?

Sad face :(

Yeah, I was actually thinking about doing that. But I didn't think about short series, since a lot of short anime that I've watched have a long and most of the time on-going manga. Like Yamada-kun for example. The one that I was seriously considering was Spice and Wolf since Holo alone should be able to make up for most difficulties entering the manga as a medium. But I had to postpone that idea since volume 2 isn't avalible at the moment and buying a single one - as I said - isn't a good idea. Is something wrong? I think that was a good advise. Ignore that question if that's too personal and awkward to respond to it to a stranger.

I see that you didn't enjoy it that much. I really hope that you will like it. Just keep in mind that first 2 episodes may seem like the most generic high school/cute girls anime but it changes.

Well, you should enjoy it. Sinon is a decent character, so you should be able to like GGO at least because of her. The middle arc is a filler and the last one is good.
Idk, I'm just allergic that they have to squeeze high school setting into every anime, even if it would be better off without it. It's just annoying for me. Yeah, he isn't bad for sure but he is like the only reedeming quality that this anime has to offer. At least to me.

Yeah, it could be a really good one if they just kept the spirit of initial episodes.

You see, the current bar just represents percentage share of each category: completed, ptw etc in your total anime. So if I want to know how much actually you watched I have to pay attention to the numbers. What I mean is, our bars may look exactly the same, even though I've completed 100+ anime and you have completed 41. It used to be different: each category had it's own bar, that was becoming more darker in coulour and, obviously, longer, the more anime that person has watched. So just one glimpse could tell you that he/she drops a lot of shows but also watches a lot. Now the bar can be mostly red but actual proportions can be 1 completed and 3 dropped. So it might look good but is way less functional than it used to be. And functionality is what makes a good chart, isn't it?
Well yeah. I've lost my interest in writing reviews and writing on the forums because of the changes.
They have complained. And some keep doing that. With 0 response. We already know that they don't really care that a lot of people wanted an option to choose between old/new layout. Some wanted to revert it. But for ... sake they can at least listen to the changes that actually make sense and won't harm their precious layout. Like bringing back Comment count or animelist views. Or giving the ability to edit entry in "recently updated" section (yes there was option to do that).

But can't we all live a peaceful life? They will belive that we learned it, we pass, they don't have to read our bullshit. Everyone's happy.

They aren't very expensive (at least I expected that they would cost more) - around 5 euro per volume. The only problem is that ordering one isn't very efficient so I would have to order a couple, which is already a commitement. Oh problems, my problems are so hard. lol
Well good for you. I wish I had the ability to do that; learning from my laptop would get a lot of easier. Anyway I don't think that anything can beat the smell of a new book.
Okay, this sentence might be weirdly constructed but I hope you will get the meaning out of it: what actually makes you look forward to me entering the manga world?

Glad that you enjoyed. I can only assure you that the rest of the OST is the same quality or almost as good. Honestly, now that I listened to almost every OST of this series yet again, I've noticed that almost every top comment was a huge spoiler. Yeah, obviously. Some themes actually get A LOT of meaning once you know the story.

Not a problem. Feel free to ask me about any show that I've watched: I'll be more than glad to tell you what I thought about it (as objectively as possible).
Depends on what you want to watch. SAO for pure entertainment with your brain switched off (seriously, don't think too much while watching it). Psycho-Pass is more mystery oriented and relies on slowly realising flaws of the system. It's similar to Shinsekai Yori in many ways but it's also much easier to get into and doesn't have issues with pacing. Madoka is really marathonable (is that a word?) and once you get to a certain point it becomes really gripping. 3rd episode should get you interested in the show and it keeps getting better after that. My biggest complaint about Code Geass is that they, for whatever reasons, just HAD TO squeeze some high school in there. Overall it's not that bad for a mecha but I can't really force myself to get back to watching it.

That's the point. If I recall correctly, I had difficulties in understanding why some of them were acting the way they did. I wasn't expecting that each would have a separate episode but at least any proper explaination. No, you are right you shouldn't take a show like that too seriously. Also, the main character was somewhat refreshing, he was actually doing things and it looked like that he knew what he wanted. A nice change after countless clueless, dense and clumsy MCs. Well, not a whole lot shows about it. At least I'm not aware of. Charlotte contained this but after 6th episode it became a big pile of crap that just kept getting worse and with a climax so stupid that it actually made me upset. So it's not worth it.

Yeah, that notification thing is the only thing that they managed to do without fucking things up. They basically butchered review system (I mean the old one was bad and needed improvements but they still managed to make it worse o.0). Whole profile layout was changed (about me section was at the bottom, favorites were to the left, they changed how statistics look) and it's pretty much malfunctional in comparisson to the previous one. Stats are hard to use, putting favorites in the place where they are was just dumb (it leaves me with awkward huge white spaces), putting about me section in the top is also bad (the first thing that I want to notice are the updates and the stats...), also a lot of minor things like taking away Animelistviews from your profile. Sorry about being salty but it's very hard not to be when talking about. All this happend in November and majority did not like the changes. It was around 75% (there was a thread with a pool). A lot of people listed things that they want to change back (and gaining a lot of +1) yet the staff completely ignored that. There are more things but enough of this salt already. I'm not Reynad.

You don't need to apologise. Life can take a turn when it's least expected so I totally understand you. Thanks but I'm super sceptical about them this year. I'm pretty much sure that they will compensate easier semester with hard exams.

Yeah, I did. I mean it's been over a decade since I had one in my hands but Donald Duck comics were a big part of my childhood. The biggest problem (I'm almost 95% sure) is that I have to read them on screen. And I hate reading stuff on screen. I've read a huge ammounts of books in my life but all of them were paper. That's why reading on screen is extremely fatiguing for me. At least to some extent, reading stuff like articles or longer posts isn't a problem. That's why I was considering to order a couple of volumes of something that I did enjoy, like Spice and Wolf and see how it goes. But I need to think this through.

The soundtrack is just amazing. The artstyle is very good too but it was to be expected from Shaft. But OSTs are just... A couple of them easily made it to my favorite soundtracks of all time. Like this one (just be wary of spoilers in the comment section ;))
It was created by the same person that did soundtrack for Fate/Zero for example, which should speak for itself.
That's surely a lot. That's the thing with anime. No matter how many you watch there always is another good one waiting for you, isn't it? Opinions about SAO II are split, personally I think it's way better than S1. It finally switches focus away from Kirito and properly introduces 2 characters, which is a lot of more in comparisson to 0 in SAO S1. Log Horizon is similar to SAO but focuses more on community and actual game mechanics rather than flashy action. Steins;Gate might be tricky for you because during like 8-10 first episodes basically nothing happens. But the show makes up for it in the second half, which is a-ma-zing. Psycho-Pass is just excellent and Code Geass was rather a letdown for me. Just my brief opinions, hope it will help you decide what to watch first.

Hah, it's just me then. Sometimes I quickly scan through what I've written previously and I'm like "did I really write this that way" and feel like a retard. Honestly, it's the same case there. I haven't noticed any mistakes.

Oh, I remember this one. It was a pretty good watch, body swapping abilities always make me hyped. This plus likeable characters made it an enjoyable anime for me. The only problem with it was the pacing: it felt rushed and didn't give as much screentime to some of the cast as I would like them to get. That's what I remember, I watched it arond September - October so it's been some time.

Aaand as always I wanted to ask about something and during writing I forgot what it was. Dammit.
Edit: now I remember :D You haven't been on this site for quite some time, how do you like the changes?

Hello, it's been some time. To be honest, seeing that you're back was one of the last things I would expect in 2016. I was sure that you're not going ever to be back around October. But I'm glad that you are back, welcome ;) Quite frankly, nothing especially new or special. My semester was rather easy so far but with exams around the corner I'm expecting the worse from January. But at the moment I'm enjoying these remaining free days of Christmas break as much as I can. Also, I've got to know some people that like discussing anime here, on MAL which is also nice. Oh, I missed you too. ~Welcome back one more time.

Hah, Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you too. I hope that you will manage to keep promises made for this year and that it will be fortunate for you. Oh, that's good. Personally, I don't pay that much attention to my grades anymore (obviously as long as I pass) but I know that a good grades can be fulfilling, so good for you. I've tried to get into manga again but failed as always, so my manga list is as empty as it's been since the beginning.

Hmm, as of lately I haven't watched anything really good for quite some time. I mean there were a couple of decent shows but for a couple of months nothing has really made my hyped like Shinsekai Yori did, back in the day. Obviously, I've stumbled upon a couple of gems during your absence, like for example Madoka Magica (which I strongly recommend - during 12 episodes it manages to tell an excellent story and has great characters. Just don't get fooled by seemingly light-hearted cover and the fact that it's a loli/magical girl anime. It gets darker with every episode and is really good.). Also, there were a couple of shows that I could genuinely hate and I felt like I've just wasted my time on them.

Also, I've completely moved to talking through comments: it's just much more functional for me. So if you don't mind, we can switch to talking there. I'll post it on your wall too, you can choose which way do you prefer. And I apologise for my grammar and spelling mistakes, my brain isn't working very well for me today.
