Cipher (Manga) add (All reviews)
TL;DR: Cipher is one of the absolute strangest manga I've ever read, but underneath the layers of whack you can find a basic, typical shojo.

I'm not sure if I'm even qualified to talk about Cypher because I only mustered up the strength to read about 40 chapters? Can't say for certain, it was a bit ago.

Alright, where to even start with Cipher?

I got introduced to Cipher from a Kenny Lauderdale video touching on the wild OVA that was released, and this is what initially peaked my interest in the series. I was already interested in that era of anime and manga, so it was read more

TL;DR: Final Act is the absolute best way to top the original Inuyasha series. It ends the story perfectly (albeit with a few tears) and I'd easily say that these 26 episodes are some of the best of the entire Inuyasha franchise.

It took me a long time to get around to watching Final Act because I really didn't want the show to end! But I've just finished today, and after a half hour tears session I'm finally ready to explain my thoughts.
(This will just be a review on Final Act! Not on Inuyasha as a show!)

I found that the story here, though it's read more

TL;DR: Inuyasha is a nostalgia blast with many good points and an engrossing story. I would recommend this show to pretty much everyone.

Watching Inuyasha makes me feel nostalgic. That’s something a lot of people who love Inuyasha will say; many people grew up watching this show on Adult Swim into the wee hours of the morning, and in this way Inuyasha is special to many people.
I am not one of those people.
But, Inuyasha has this special quality that makes it feel nostalgic. The first time I watched this show was semi-recently but I instantly felt a connection. It wasn’t necessarily because the show was outstanding, read more

TL;DR: Maison Ikkoku is the romance comedy that will make your heart go doki-doki and feel a little less lonely inside. Definite recommendation for any fans of the genre or Rumiko Takahashi in general.

Basically It's 1:51 am and I have just completed Maison Ikkoku, so better to write this while it's still fresh in my mind. As an avid Rumic World fan, I of course spared time to pick up one of her classics, and to be honest I really wasn't into it at first. It was a classic setup, but the first few chapters didn't sell me on the story.

Then, of course, I read more

TL;DR: Powerpuff Girls Z is a blast of nostalgia from my personal childhood and a fun show to watch when you have nothing else.

First and foremost, I've given this show the rating I did out of pure nostalgia. I never watched the original Powerpuff girls as a kid the way that my friends did, and instead I grew up on... this. It's what probably introduced me to anime and what bonded my older sister and I- hours in front of the phone watching this show. I also remember watching it dubbed, and from my vague childhood memory it wasn't that bad.

TL;DR: Fire Tripper is an interesting way to spend fifty minutes, but I would still recommend.

L;DR: Where do I begin? In my quest to consume as much Rumiko Takahashi media as possible, I stumbled onto Fire Tripper. The synopsis peaked my interest, and after finding a low resolution, muddled audio version of it on YouTube I thought, heck, why not.

STORY: 8/10
What makes Fire Tripper good is the story, not necessarily the other elements.
It's not that similar to Inuyasha, by the way. I'd say it reminds me more of Mao, actually. Focusing on the actual anime, I'd say that the story read more

Maid-Sama is absolutely terrible. It's so bad it's funny, and the awful dub really doesn't help. But should you watch it? Absolutely! I can guarantee a fun time.

I debated about what rating to give this show for quite a while. Let me make myself clear- This show is not good. It's bad. It's really bad. Which is strange, because generally I'm a sucker for these kinds of trashy shojo shows. But something about Maid-Sama...

The good things first. Maid-Sama has pretty alright animation and the art isn't bad. Each frame is pretty and the layouts and storyboarding is decent. The music read more

Kyoukai no Rinne is a terrific manga with well-written characters and a fun and engrossing story. I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of any of Takahashi’s previous works. I had a great time reading and was laughing and smiling throughout.

*This review will make comparisons to other Takahashi works including Ranma ½, Inuyasha, and Urusei Yatsura. Prior knowledge of mentioned manga might help the review make more sense but is not required to understand what I’m saying.

The plot has been compared many times to Inuyasha, but I find that’s not a fair comparison. Inuyasha was much more serious, and had the whole read more
