And here's another late reply to that pile as well. x)

Seriously though, sorry about that. I've been extremely busy with finals and work all at once the past couple weeks. I'm on summer "break" right now, but will be resuming work again next Monday. I will get to enjoy this weekend atleast - I'm going to an anime convention called ACEN. I'll have pictures for you, I promise!

As for being a barista at Starbucks, the one I work at is in the middle of campus so it gets really crazy. But I like it and it's more fun for me that way. It's funny, because I don't even like expresso and when I tell that to customers, they look at me like I'm crazy and ask why I'm working at Starbucks then. xD I do like tea and juices. That's more of my specialty I'd say. You'd be surprise how good a mix of iced green tea, lemonade, and strawberry with a little bit of sweetener would taste.

Enjoy this 3 month break before university then. :) I'd say college life is pretty fun though - a lot more flexible and enjoyable for me at least. Please do let me know when you finish writing one of your works, I enjoy reading them and you have the talent for it. Plus, I still would love to see an original short story from you one of these days.

Ah yes, I do indeed. My Skype username is the same as here and BL so feel free to add me. I've only started using it more and more recently and I guess I'll have another reason to now. ;)

Ah! Good to hear you're doing well. :)

I haven't had much time for gaming either. I've been juggling school, my job (I'm working as a Barista at Starbucks now), and social life altogether. It's crazy and I hardly have any time for the usual gaming, anime etc I used to do a lot of, but I'm having lots of fun!

How about you? How's school and writing going for you? I'm very interested to know what you're writing about. Have a great (spring?) break too. :)

Lauraaaa! It's been a while and I know it's extremely embarrassing replying after over 4 months. I make no excuses.. ok.. other than being busy and being overwhelmed each time in replying due to our extended conversations ;)

So if you're salty, that's fine. But I wanted to reply at least rather than never replying and fading into... oblivion (dun dun dun).

Hopefully, we'll catch up with the rest of our convo in time. Anyway, I've missed you, how have you been doing?

Sorry about the tardiness of this reply. I swear I got halfway through typing one, but lost it all when my comp suddenly had to update. I mean, it's already quite intimidating replying to something gigantic like that, and I was just so bummed about that happening that I put it off forever.

It's like playing through a game halfway and your save file gets corrupted. You don't really feel like starting over again (atleast I don't lol).

Look at me ramble, I'm still here to reply! So yeah! The whole deal with game availability being a bigger issue there sounds bleh. You know there's a problem when it's cheaper to import games haha. That sucks that there is little support for last gen as I'm still very much interested in them. I do hear PAL constantly gets shafted compared to NA when it comes to which games come to their shores and what not.

As long as you're enjoying the games you're playing though, it's all good. Personally, there's quite a bit of Japanese games I'd love to import, but I'd probably have to learn Japanese to understand and I already have my hands full as is - so I'm not too bothered.

I suppose I could be like everyone else and tell you "Just do what you love and go on that career path" but I won't, because I feel that sometimes ignores the reality of things. Sure, I believe you should atleast have some interest in the job you're doing. But picking something technical, good paying, and in demand right now will pay off more where you'll in turn, have more time and money to devote to activities you REALLY love (whether in the future or while you're working your job). That's one way of looking at it atleast.

Yeah, Sandy didn't even reach Chicago so I'm good. East coast got hit pretty bad though. I remember seeing a picture of a trampoline stuck on electric/telephone lines.

"Hometown" constitutes where you grow up in my book. Basically up until the age where you felt old - which in my case was some time during Highschool LOL. China is definitely a place I'd like to visit atleast once. And yes! I have celebrated Chinese New Year's; it's really fun, one of my best buddies is Chinese too so I always come over during New Year's. Plus, there is a Chinatown pretty much every place I visit.

Man, I already got fond of H-Man. You can call me Al, and yes I am Filipino. I do have a bit of Chinese in me since both of my grandmothers were half Chinese. I always joke with my friends that us asians are all related in some way anyway haha.

YOU STARTED LOTGH OH YESH YOU DIDDDD. Just savor it then is all I can say. That and the real story doesn't start until the end of the first season. But that's not a big deal since the first 25 episodes are excellent anyway. Aria is definitely an anime and manga that I think you'd love and enjoy. Oh, and whatever happened to "I only rate 10 or 1"? Noticed you've been scoring here as well. xD I gotta go through and update my scores one of these days too, though that probably means I'll have to rewatch just to be fair.

As for Backloggery, I noticed you started on FF8! Get ready for some serious teen angst. Loved that game though. I also got a Vita recently and Virtue's Last Reward. JIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I'll give them a read then and let you know what I think. 30K sounds quite a bit so nice job! Ghibili is always welcome in my book in whatever shape or form. Have you written or considered writing original (non-fanfic) works? I think that's really cool.

Nah, I just did some professional reviewing as a summer thing to past time. Nothing really worth mentioning. If you need someone to do some editing work for your stories though, I'm your man. ;)

Oh, it will. *chin stroke*

I'll also consolidate all our topics and thoughts from BL here. It's convenient and my way of saying "Fuck you" to BL's character limit. ;)

No, I actually don't use my time that wisely (not as much as I want to anyway). I do get my stuff done, but there's a lot of procrastination and a lot of pacing around.. thinking lol. I plan on getting a job soon though so maybe that will change for the better.

Honestly, the more we talk, the more similar our countries seem to be. I've heard about the (supposedly) bad censorship in the game industry there though and an Aussie buddy of mine joked that the wild life is pretty much out to kill you. But other than that, it's a place I'd like to visit. Especially since I heard the female to male ratio is geared heavily to my favor, haha.

I'm not travelling atm, just took a vacation at Washington state couple years ago. Right now, I'm majoring in IT (Networking side) basically shit that connects everyone to the internets. There are more creative callings/jobs I wanted to get into, ofcourse. But I'll be realistic and go with what makes more money for now lol. Besides I actually find it interesting at times. How about you? Have you decided on what to major in college yet?

I'd honestly love subtly changing Australian weathers, but would probably miss the extremes at one point (even winter lol). Literally right now, there's a "Superstorm Sandy" hitting the east coast here.

The Philippines? There's not much to say.. it's a 3rd world country: hot as fuck, government is corrupt as fuck, cities are polluted as hell.

But it's home. It's a beautiful collection of tropical islands and the people are incredibly hospitable and friendly. I don't think I could have a more enjoyable childhood anywhere else either. I love it. Now it's your turn to tell me about your hometown. :D

YES I WILL FINISH 20TH CENTURY BOYS. Well, I'm gonna make it my goal for November. Will rely on you for further, constant reminding though. :) Walking Man as a single volume would probably be a high priority since I can finish it quicker as well as Hotel (God, I keep forgetting about it). Otoyome actually sounds really interesting to me and I'll try to check out the rest. Yokohama is also downloading as we speak haha.

I'm still of the opinion you should save LotGH for later, haha xD. One of the reviews here on MAL gets it right though - it's a thoroughly brilliant work that doesn't rely on shocking plot twists or gimmicks. Instead, it creates an incredibly believable universe, plot, and (outstanding) characters. The political intrigue is top notch and one its best accomplishments (that few anime even manage to approach) is how it creates this sense of balance of power that is constantly shifting.. within the viewer.

Before I forget: WATCH OR READ AQUA AND ARIA!

So I'm done writing this mammoth reply. Btw, you mentioned that you do some writing (fanfics iirc?). Mind linking me to them?
Acquiesc3 Oct 26, 2012 4:21 PM
Yo, I'm here to further de-lonely your wall.

Well.. I did say I was gonna chat you up here lol.

So I've pretty much finished previewing the anime this season and basically dropped the ones that I thought were shit. A lot of the solid ones are returnees (Gintama, Bakuman, Jormungand). As far as new anime, Sukinayo is great even though it's pretty cliched. Chuunibyou looked interesting too and I'll probably keep up with Psycho Pass and Magi as well.

And I'm still betting on Robotics Notes since I think it will be a slow burner like Steins Gate lol.

I noticed you've been on a manga streak recently? Any good ones you can recommend? I've actually had my eye on that Yokohama manga lately. How is it?
