When I started to read Stranger Than Friends (STF) it was just a surface level and generic BL. It was the classic trope of childhood friends to lovers. As I continued to read, however, things took an insane twist. To avoid spoilers, I won't put much detail, but what I will say is this: Not only was there a genuinely shocking twist, but there was also real-life commentary about closeted queers and marriage culture in Korea. I was so shocked I think I actually screamed. Shitty sex aside, the plot is actually crazy when you get to that point. The side story is also pretty ... good, but definitely holds nothing to the commentary that's just hidden in the middle of a random yaoi. It's pretty great, though if you're not a fan of this sort of genre in the first place I wouldn't recommend it (Coming from someone who mostly just skips the smut).

I want to start this off by saying that I adore Doraemon, but not from a nostalgic perspective like most people. I watched Doraemon XD on Disney XD when I was younger and I played some of the older SNES games for it when I was younger. I think back very fondly, but I don't believe it prejudices my review.

I very much enjoyed this movie, it was very solid and I had a blast watching it! For entertainment purposes, this was a phenomenal 10/10 for me. The visuals were cool, I like the 3D, it took a bit to adjust to at first but ... I did like it a lot. A couple of notes though: Sometimes Nobita's teeth would just like disappear for no reason. It's small, but I noticed it all the same. Also, I can't tell if Suneao and Gian are his friends or bullies; It makes me a bit confused why he would have a bachelors party with them when Gian literally beat him up and Suneao and he both play the most fucked up pranks on Nobita.

There were a couple of times in the movie where I thought it was going to be the end, but then it shoots off into something wild and unexpected again. Also, the begging half of the movie when Shizuka thought Nobita was going to end his life (from what I understand at least), felt way too heavy for a kids' film about a fourth-grade boy.

Overall, I really enjoyed it though! Good movie, the plot was fun, and the characters all had charm to them. The 2D to 3D translation of the characters was very well done and nothing felt too goofy or out of place as opposed to scenarios using a more traditional animation style. If you're just looking for something goofy to take your brain off of some stuff or have something on in the background: It's perfect!

I have been a huge fan of Eve's music for about a year and a half now. The music videos are always amazing and while reading the manga I was just estatic! I accidentally discovered it and went to find the quickest way possibly I could read it.

In short: If you like the music you will like the manga! I was so excited when I recognized the characters from the music videos, it made me feel like I was in on a bigger story before it even started!

The art was absolutely stunning, I expect nothing less of NEWO. The characters are all very ... likeable and have a certain mystery about them that is enjoyable and anticipating. I love concepts like "another world in our own" which is essentially what this story is so far. Can't wait to see more!

With the recent hype around Popee the Performer, I just felt attracted to viewing Masuda's other works. It's just as enjoyable, if you liked Popee, like weird or bizzare shows, or generally dark themes, you'll love Mr. Stain on Junk Alley!

As far as story goes, there isn't much of a linear plot, but past events are referenced in later episodes. What started off as a silly weird childrens' show became a throw at humanity. Honestly, the more you get invested, the more you realize what Junk Alley is and who it reflects in life.

Everything is CG Animation, as Masuda is known for, but the ... visuals are very good considering (1) budget and (2) time era of production and release. There are no speaking lines, just noises from Mr. Stain, but sound effects and music are really well put. The outro is a bop to be honest.

Each character has a special role on Junk Alley, and it always seems like Mr. Stain is looking for his if he's unsatisfied with his heartbreak and art career.

It's bizzare,it's sad, it's enjoyable, there is no way to describe it other than it is the pinacle of Ryuji Masuda.

I very much enjoy this manga! It's just a general, cutesy, short manga. The manga doesn't dance around too much with uneeded filler, just cute and wholesome. The art is very beautiful, too. I don't have much to say except it's exactly what it looks like. I like that Rena had some nice dimension to her with how she felt about Tomaya (eek almost said a spoiler!). I am slightly upset there wasn't more to do with side characters or rivals (as short as this manga is) because they just kind of felt like "We're here so the world is less empty." I did enjoy ... it though a whole lot! If you have time to just sit down and read two volumes because you like soft romances, this should suit you fine. Obviously not for anyone who isn't a big fan.

Also, no aggressive or abusive/toxic elements like you tend to find in these sorts of manga!!!! I was way too happy about that.

Overall it was very good! A pleasurable experience with very pretty early 2000's art style. Would read again if I was bored or needed a wholesome pick-me-up with a short time slot.

Be prepared to meet some of the most UNLIKEABLE main characters ever. This takes all cliches and eliminates them, the boy is head over heels for the girl and she basically uses and abuses him. She is so unlikeable, but as you press on she actually develops more as a character, making her MUCH better than before. The drama and love triangles and such were all absurd but still remained amusing. I hate how they ruined some interesting plot points with random absurdities, however. It could never pick if it wanted to be funny or serious and it definitely broke a lot of scenes. But ... there isn't much to expect from a 24 chapter series like this, obviously development would have kinks here and there. Overall though, it was pretty okay.I enjoyed it enough, but I'd likely forget about it if I didn't own it.

Note: This series is extremely vulgar in nature of language, dialogue, visuals, and otherwise, but what should you expect from something called 'Panty & Stocking'.

Story: There isn't much of a storyline throughout the series besides the finale. In the first episode, we get introduced to the girls and we're told they need to collect Heaven Coins to get back into Heaven. I suppose they were collecting for most of the episodes, and they did mention whenever they weren't collecting coins, but it was pretty good, not great, but, pretty good. Overall the story is 8/10 Heaven Coins.

Art: I particularly love this art style. It reminds ... me of the Powerpuff Girls or other early 2000's kids shows that aired, making it even greater by the fact that this show is definitely not for children or people who don't understand/comprehend/or are mature sexual content. The art style occasionally changed like in episode 5, Raiders of the Nasal Dark / Vomiting Point (particularly Vomiting Point), and during their transformation scenes where it was more of a traditional anime style. In general, I think the art style was a great choice and fits the story well in certain natures. Overall the art style is 9/10 Backlaces, well done.

Sound: Nothing much to note about the audio. I find the ENG dub more enjoyable to watch this series in because it fits with the art style more than the JAP one does. There's nothing particularly good or bad about it. I think the sound effects were overdone in some scenes and made it loud and uncomfortable to listen to. The voices were well done and suited the characters extremely well. Overall the sound for the ENG dub is 8/10 Stripes.

Characters: I loved all the characters sincerely. Their designs were very well done, there was loads of variety with the ghosts, and most of the normal people walking about. I loved how certain characters developed and how the art style contributed to that. I'm a bit biased, but Brief and Stocking was extremely well done, and fit their images of what stereotypes they represent. Overall 10/10 geeky nerd boys, probably the best thing in this show.

Enjoyment: I enjoyed this series very much. It's hard for me to sit down and binge a show in a sitting, but this was definitely not the case. I found almost every aspect of this show enjoyable, charming, entertaining or likewise aside from a few stories and bits here and there. It is for sure going down in one of my favorites slots. It was a new experience and it was pretty amazing from begging to end. Overall 10/10 ghosts, outstanding!

When you average all the scores it ends up an even 9! I'm for sure going to be drawing some of these characters soon and will now have permanent crushes on Stocking and Brief. 💕

Note: Noone should watch this before having seen the main series first, as this is essentially a bonus episode made of shorts and references to other episodes.

Story: The story can not be rated because it is just a short collection of episodes. Rather I will rate the overall quality of the episodes. Compared to the main series I found these stories to be less entertaining or funny than the main series, however, I do like that it builds a bit on just random things about the main and side characters. Overall the story is a 7/10 Heaven Coins.

Art: I particularly like the art style of ... Panty & Stocking because it's more American, similar to that of the Powerpuff Girls or other early CN show styles. I go more into this in my review of the main series. Despite me loving the art style, it felt a bit less in this OVA so I'll knock a point. Overall the art style is 9/10 Backlaces.

Sound: Nothing much to note about the audio. I find the ENG dub more enjoyable to watch this series in because it fits with the art style more than the JAP one does. Characters: Here I won't be judging the characters based on the OVA, I'll be judging them based on the original series. It is to be noted, and has, that more character building has been done in the OVA through the power of the shorts, although it's mainly useless details. One of them being that Garterbelt is gay and often hangs around gay night clubs in town. Maybe I'm biased, but I love the characters. Overall the characters are 10/10 geeky nerd boys.

My personal enjoyment: I enjoyed it. I thought it was good, nothing particular compared to the original, but it was solid. I've already mentioned what I like and don't like, so not much more is required. Overall 8/10 ghosts, I'm a bit disappointed.

When you average the scores, you get 8.4/10 as the final verdict. It was good, that's it. The main series is much better in several regards, so it definitely boosted the score. It wasn't good, it wasn't terrible, it was just there.

This was something that is very distinctly Ken Akamatsu. In fact, in the end, the girl looks just like Saati! For a Christmas one-shot, it was fairly well written. A bit cliche for 90's (works pervert lucks out with hot chick) but it works for this. The storyline was pretty unique, but it was never really built upon on the history of her family and why she loves him. It felt a little empty, to be honest. That being said, the story moved pretty smoothly, the art was good and standard for late 90's work. There wasn't much to derive from the plot or a ... climax, it was just kind of meh. I enjoyed reading it all the way through, but there are plenty of issues with it.

I didn't like that Santa was constantly talking about breasts and that Mai was just like okay with it pretty much. I also hate that there aren't really antagonists in this story. There isn't much driving you to read aside from the hopes of finding out why he's unlucky or why she loves him, and it never comes. The only reason I kept reading was that I'm a diehard Akamatsu fan and I'm very familiar with his style and comparing it to other works I've read (Love Hina, A.I. Love You, etc).

Considering it was a debut and old as all hell, it was surprisingly well. It was a short one-shot and the kid was pretty cute. There wasn't a lot of comedy and it was really fast-paced. I will admit I'm a bit biased to Akamatsu's work, but I thought it was pretty wholesome and cute. It's nothing to compare to his later works, however, but it was a comprehensive start and it's nice to see how his art and stories have developed over the years and projects and series. All in all, it was decent, good enough for a beginner in that time period, ... but not good enough to sell on the market solo without hardcore fans these days.
