First of all, if you are a fan of the VNs, you probably will think this anime adaption is extremely lacking. However I never played any of them so I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Its kind of like Full Metal Panic because of the super over-powered, ex military m.c. who transfers into a school and then its also similar to Bakemonogatari where all of the female characters have little mini arcs and they're each weirdly connected to the m.c. in a kind of haremy way but its not really like a true harem if that makes sense. Also, it has lots of different waifus to ... argue about which is always fun.

This series is definitely enjoyable but it had the potential to be a masterpiece if they fleshed it out properly and made it longer... Each season could have been atleast 24 episodes. If you like end up liking the show, the second season is really cool because it goes back and develops the characters more.

First of all, I think this show is mildly overrated. Secondly, im going to review this anime in comparison to Slam Dunk and I'm doing it this way for two reasons. 1: because this is my review, so I'll put it together however I want And 2: because if you don't like Kuroko no Basket, I'm pretty sure you will like Slam Dunk vice-versa.

Kuroko no Basket is an uninspired and bland anime that hides its flaws in its beautiful art and seemless animations. It's a classic "battle shounen" disguised as a sports anime where all the characters are unstoppable superheroes fighting in a gigantic 3 ... season tournament arc. Rather than having a logical story that flowed well, the writer seemed to always rely on crazy plot devices to drive the story forward. To be honest, I dont mind when the characters are a little unrealistic with the unique abilites like Ippo's extremely over exaggerated dempsey roll or the Tezuka Zone from The Prince of Tennis but KnB takes it to the level of where it's hard to suspend my disbelief.
There were way too many times when I watched a scene and then said something like, “Oh, that could never actually happen in basketball.” But the problem isn't that its unrealistic, it's that its not believable. For example: take a show like Psycho Pass or Ergo Proxy. These anime are both crazy and unrealistic sci-fi shows but when I sit down and watch either of them, the writing makes it feel real and believable rather than thinking about how unrealistic it obviously is.
Even though Slam Dunk is a little goofy and older, the story is immersive and makes you feel connected. The characters are well developed and relatable even though it's filled with cliched tropes. Its a little generic in some ways but it still feels very genuine and heartfelt.
For what it's worth, I feel like there's always a different show to watch depending on your mindset and KnB could do it for you. However, if you love sports anime and want to watch a timeless show that will stay in your soul forever- Slam Dunk will sate your craving especially if you don't mind some older animations.

It's a decently mediocre anime. It's funny in a somewhat ironic way. The show took itself way too seriously considering all the cliched tropes used. The older brother complex that Sylvia has will probably irk you to the core. If I were to describe it one or two sentences I would say: It's filled with nonsensical sci-fi story mechanics that rarely get explained. Also, it's cheesy and generic but provides some enjoyment If you go in with few expectations. I would say that its overall rating is a little to high. Its not great, nor is it terrible. Words to describe it: Average, mediocre, pedestrian, ... uninspiring, unremarkable, unoriginal, run-of-mill, etc.

I don't really write reviews for manga but quite frankly, it is pretty upsetting to see how many 10/10's this series recieves. Apparently the bar is set pretty low. Pandora Hearts is an explicit adaptation on Alice in Wonderland. It is a pretty standard isekai theme, with nothing that original, with a lot of shota/fujo bait. If that was the only wrong, it wouldn't be that bad.
This series is extremely confusing. Not that it's to intricate to understand, but more in the direction itself. I found myself having a very hard time understanding how the text was supposed to connect with the illustrations. Many times, ... I was re-reading pages to understand what was happening. It was the first time I actually tried watching the anime as I was reading so I could make sense of what was going on. I feel like the artist tried way to hard to incorporate cinematic styles in the art direction. I honestly don't understand how this series is so highly praised. This is the type of series that heavily relies on its artwork and unique character design to cover for its flaws overall. I would consider myself easy to please as well, and I can enjoy something for what its worth, but Pandora Hearts is a nightmare to try and navigate through.
