_Itazura na Kiss_ is like a mountaineer who climbs up a slippery slope halfway and helplessly tumbles down to a crushingly disappointing death. Doesn't mean we don't get a few laughs when it hits some rocks and trees along the way, but in the end, it's still rather startling to see how low a series can sink from a promising starting point.
Imagine a love story between a noble prince, whose only fault is his perfection, and a female slave on a pirate ship, whose only redeeming quality is the constancy of her failures. Along the way, our hero and heroine face earthquakes and dividing

Watching _Kekkaishi_ is like enjoying a big box of chocolate; you know it's essentially just fat and sugar, but that doesn't stop you from eating it.
_Kekkaishi_ offers nothing new, nothing spectacular, essentially nothing. It's not one of those animes that tries to be high brow and thought provoking. In the limitation of its scope, however, the series has done extremely well. The story progresses with fast enough pace that one doesn't feel the urge to fast forward, often with suspense--in the form of unresolved secrets or crisis--sustained throughout several episodes.
