Pop team epic is the anime equivalent of shitposting memes, it is based on the manga with the same name which is the manga equivalent of shitposting memes.
The story or more lack thereof is mostly about Pipimi and Popuko or some random one-off character doing whatever the shenanigans of the week are, like bobsledding or competing in Shogi, sometimes with unnecessarily high stakes.
The comedy relies on the viewer not knowing what's coming next, which I would imagine limiting the reachability of the show.
I recommend this anime if you enjoyed the manga or what to try something new.

Nyanko Days is a slice of life comedy series about a first-year high school student and her three adorable little catgirls. The story isn't much to write about, it's you can probably predict how it goes early on, and while there technically is a story here it's rather insubstantial, which is further exemplified by the much shorter than usual episode length with its 2-minute episodes means that the entire series is about the same length as an episode in most animes.
