Don't worry about it. If you hadn't noticed, I myself, disappeared for like 2-3 months. We all have our real lives to take care of. Glad to see you back. As far as manwhas go, I've read a couple good ones, but I really recommend the series called The breaker. One of the best manwhas I've read. Though I've never tried learning korean so I'm not sure how good that one is as learning material.

I took a look at your goodreads list. I must say, that is indeed quite the comprehensive list. Were I an insecure man, I would be shaking in my proverbial boots in raw astonishment of your literary superiority.

I have heard many things of gokusen. Things like it is a female version of GTO. I myself, have yet to watch it. I guess I will have to watch it, seeing as you rated it highly. Also we seem to have similar taste when it comes to these things.

Therumae Romae sounds interesting. I believe there's an anime about it airing this season. Ah you read volume 1 of Nuarhiyon no mago? You really are into youkai. I myself, read the first 100 or so chapters some time ago. Not bad I must say. I don't even bother trying to update my list anymore. I have so many blank entries and empty ratings that it would take a lifetime to get myself completely up to date.

Well, we both better get a ufo, because by that definition, I am also an alien. I'm not really a fan of facebook; privacy invasion and all that. That's a tale for another time though.

Ah I see good to hear. I myself did a lot of reading during the christmas/holiday period. I just realized I never sent you a friend request. Though to be honest, this whole friend request/thing is pretty much a foreign concept to me. I mean most people don't walk around in real life with a tag that says "friend of". Next thing you know, you have people competing to see who has the most friends. But I digress and really should stop rambling. Here's my friend request. Should you decide to accept it, we will advance from mere acquaintances to casual online associates.

Whew I feel like I haven't spoken to you in ages. I didn't want to speak to you until I got around to reading Satsuma Gishiden. Which sadly, I did not get around to reading. Quite pathetic I know, but well there really was no helping it with all I had to do. Don't fret we'll soon have something to discuss the next time I get on. Speaking of GTO, have you read his current GTO series, Shonan 14 days?

I'm a seinen guy. LOVED Canaan and Mnemosyne. TYPE-MOON and SHAFT are my favourite producers.

Then I guess you may not like Bakemonogatari either. Also has a slight touch of fan service, a lot of it subtle but others not so much. My favourite anime though.

And about writing books, I never have the motivation to finish one I start so I don't bother anymore lol. I just can't focus my ideas.

I noticed you write a fair amount which I am reading in my free time, it interests me. I write too but not fanfiction, usually just short stories to kill my boredom and interests in language.

Honestly, I can see where you're coming from about it being somewhat racist. It does have that faux pas feeling to it. Especially, as I read it was created during a time period where such discussions regarding exiled Japanese caste people were being held. I suppose, it would be no more different than a book negatively portraying black stereotypes and violent behavior during the civil rights movement or a book negatively depicting jews and spreading Nazi propaganda during WW2. Though I think we have to take everything into context. I myself while reading this did not see the author as a racist person. If anything it felt like he was trying to highlight the social injustices and bigotry that was going on during that era of Japan's history and comparing it to what was happening then during his time. Perhaps the story ended poorly and in poor taste with the severed limbs but a lot of the media during that time period was chanbara (Samurai Executioner, Lone Wolf and cub, etc.). So I think it was just added for flare and flamboyance if not anything else. His newer version corrects a lot of the issues of the older one. Anyway, I was about to read Satsuma Gishiden. According to you it sounds like it will be much better than Chidaruma kenpou onorera ni tsugu. Regarding your comment on not having enough friends who discuss mature seinen and shonen titles, well all I can say it's hard to find people who have good taste like us.
