Going into this anime, I expected it to be good since it was praised by a lot and was actually a dark horse from the rest of the household animes returning for a new season. And truth to be told, I absolutely enjoyed watching each episode.
At the very first episode, I was already hooked.
The art, animation and concept was really god tier. Although it's not the first cyberpunk anime, but it brought a new flavour to the genre. And each episode was so colourful and vibrant, even though the storyline was dark.
There were 7 characters introduced in the first episode and instantly I fell

in love with them. The introduction of each criminal kept me wanting more. They had their own identification which was really cool.
From here on out is NOT SPOILER FREE because I will elaborate why the anime is NOT a total 10/10.
There are two points that held me from concluding it as a masterpiece which was a bummer because the animation really was so cool and the world Akudama Drive has shown to us was stunning. AND the concept of famous criminals working together was a deal breaker for me. I enjoy those types of thrills.
So for starters, I was actually disappointed what Kanto actually looked like and the purpose of the children being shipped to that place. For me by that point went a little messy. Or I wish there were more points to be explained or elaborated because the anime was kind of building up this mystery on what was on the other side of the city and then nothing. I wish it could've been different. But since it was set on a futuristic world, the impossible could become possible.
Second is this big urge of Swindler to protect the kids, even risking her life. Don't get me wrong, I praise her for it and I think it's heroic and a right thing to do but it was just kind of thrown into nowhere. It was like a duty placed onto her without any meaning. They just met and she immediately had this older sister mode activated already. Maybe it's a part of who she is? I don't know and I wish that could've been illustrated more. Or I just wish there were more moments of them together or a cause as to why she's so protective of the children. Because believe me, I ain't gonna risk my life going into too much danger for immortal children even for a billion yen cause I'm not immortal and they are.
But I won't change the ending no matter what. The ending was by far the best. I just wish the momentum leading up to the ending was done better. The start and ending was amazing but the middle didn't meet the hype.
As a whole character though, I love that in the end Swindler became who she was mistaken as. She really fooled everyone, even the best criminals and the whole city.
So that's why I give this anime a solid 8/10.

I actually don't have the words worthy enough to give to Haikyuu, while it has given me so much.
Just recently, the 8 long year journey has finally come to an end. I say long but it actually felt short now that it has ended. It is the first shounen and sports manga that I read and stuck with. I started this in college, and now I am also an adult like the characters.
Haikyuu made me laugh, cry and feel so many emotions. And until the end, the emotions were still there. It feels as if I was saying goodbye to a dear old friend.

Such a story foretold with so many life lessons and memories, I can't thank Furudate sensei enough. The success and praise for this story is very well-deserved.
No moment was dull. No character was left unappreciated. The character developments of each character is by far the best. Furudate really knows how to tug one's heartstrings.
Honestly, this is not a review. This is a farewell to my beloved manga. Truly a masterpiece that I hope will be remembered forever. Hinata and Kageyama's story will always have a place in my heart.
"Rather than despairing and giving up because you're not a genius, believe that your strength is not limited to this and continue on the path straight ahead of you." - This line from Oikawa's scene has always kept me going. So if Oikawa can do it, so CAN you (reference from the future chaps).
Again, this is not a review. But a farewell to my beloved manga. TO MY PARADISE. THANK YOU FURUDATE SENSEI. THANK YOU FOR CREATING HAIKYUU. FOR GIVING US THIS MASTERPIECE. FOR NOT GIVING UP ON IT. FOR THE MEMORIES. AND FOR INTRODUCING TO US THE WORLD YOU SAW.

I've watched this anime back when I was in elementary and now I've rewatched all 3 seasons having graduated from college. The experience watching this anime with different perspective of course is in itself different. Back then, all I knew was the comedy and romance genre of this anime. I was fascinated with the idea of music and Paris - that was the initial vibe I got from Nodame Cantabile.
But now, all I've realized is that it's more than that.
It deals with characters with so much depth. The scenarios that I didn't understood back then, I've finally understood.
Chiaki and Nodame's relationship is so beautiful.

It's a realistic love that I enjoyed so much. It's a love that grows, changes and matures as days pass.
Particularly, I love Nodame's character, and how real her realization and growth transitioned in each season. Her goal is a short term one: to be able to perform with the person she loves. And she knew that person was achieving more than she could, so she had to catch up on her own. The struggle, the feeling of lost and grief on relying on someone was just too real. Little by little, she learned that her goal was so fragile and she felt so lost in it.
I won't spoil any further. It really is an amazing 3 seasons anime.
A music, comedy, romance filled with realizations and emotions that really made me cry.
We saw Chiaki's journey more, but in the end it was Nodame's journey that really hit me hard.

Since I am a fan of sports anime, it was such a shame that it took me so long to finally start Prince of Tennis. I think the fact that it was an old anime and it has 178 episodes made me hesitate to start it. But I am so glad that I finally watched this anime.
My feelings for this anime came to a point where I was so happy that there are still more episodes to watch and then when I was nearing into the end, I got sad because the episodes were getting less.
STORY: 10/10
It's not your typical weak lead trying to

get better throughout the series. Finally, we have a strong one who aims to be number one. So we have a strong school, a strong team and a strong male lead. All is good, and I thought it was perfect for a striking continuous win throughout the episodes but NOOOOO, it's not an easy story. I like when I try to predict the outcome, then it turns out I'm wrong. And that's Prince of Tennis folks. I never got the outcome right. Just when you thought he's going to play: NO. He's going to win: NO. It's going to be okay: NO. He'll be chosen: NO. (and vice versa). That's why it wasn't boring at all.
At first it's your ordinary competing with other schools story but along the episodes, it gets better. Since Seigaku is a strong school, honestly I thought rather than competing outside to be a difficult feat for them, it's them competing with each other for their regular spot was much more difficult and interesting to watch. Because we never know who's going to play. There's no fixed team in this club.
What excited me the most was ep 130+ and onwards. Literally just got better and more exciting. I think these arcs ahead was where Ryoma struggled the most. And heck I was surprised. I won't go into detail any further, just watch it.
ART: 8/10
The art for season 1 is beautiful and amazing but for the rest of the seasons, you'll miss the old version. What disappointed me was the animation and transitions. I guess I'm going to describe the majority of their matches as a "metaphor" for their techniques and play style. Because at times the serves, volley, techniques, etc. are exaggerated that it looked like some sort of power from a fantasy comic book. But I'll to try to understand since it makes the anime exciting and dramatic in a way. The transitions are repetitive to the point that you'll know what technique their going to use if this is the transition that they're going to use. To make up for it at times, I tell myself it's an old and long anime so I'll let it go and just enjoy the matches.
SOUND: 8/10
The opening and ending songs are not that memorable or addicting to listen to but it's okay. Although the background sounds does make me hype especially when a match is happening, and makes me anxious when something goes wrong.
CHARACTER: 10/10
THE LEAD: When I read some reviews and comments before watching Prince of Tennis, there were a lot of complaints that Ryoma is unrelatable in a sense that he is too good to be true or otherwise a perfect lead. That's why I had this expectation finally watching the series that he is really good, and he is, but he's not perfect and you can relate to him. And for the record, he has a legend pro tennis father as his mentor or coach, he competed from different competitions in the States and won them 4 times, so I believe having that experience is worthy of him being praised as someone who is really good. So his character as being cocky and arrogant comes from a basis and foundation. And I find this type of main character refreshing unlike some sports anime. Although at first I was kind of irritated at him at times but you'll find yourself loving him along the journey. He is cocky but he admires those who passionately and seriously competes with him and is thankful to the people who has taught him along the way. And his motto "Mada mada dane" comes from a very humble and persevering meaning.
For the rest of the characters, I found myself liking the other Seigaku members first rather than liking Ryoma. And it's not bad. It just means there are so many variety of personalities that this show has to offer. The regular members' unique and likeable traits makes the show more interesting and appealing. While for the competitors, the majority would literally annoy or anger me but they have their own story. And I should thank them for spicing up the anime.
ENJOYMENT: 1000000/10 (lol I had to)
If only the score could exceed 10, I would give the enjoyment that I felt watching this anime more than 10. It was that good. Until the end, I enjoyed everyone's journey, especially Ryoma's. I thought I was never going to be immersed with his journey. I was curious but I was not that invested with Ryoma at first. But until at the end, his journey was what captured my heart with this series. Truly the prince of tennis.

I had no idea what I was getting into when I first made a choice to watch this anime. At first I thought it looked like a children's anime or cartoon, and has a childish story with it. And watching the first few episodes, I thought my deductions were right but BOY WAS I WRONG.
HxH really had every genre you wanted it to be. Every arc was so engaging and new that you couldn't help but be at the edge of your sit with every episode. What astounded me in this anime was that the story felt so free. Like HxH can take on

any story, any genre or any idea and make it into an engaging ride for the viewers. This anime has no boundaries. It's definitely a rollercoaster ride.
Now if you're looking for something exciting, fun and ever so heart wrenching all at the same time, please don't ignore this anime. As someone who's gotten into shounen recently, I am so glad I did not pass up this anime. And so should you.
Story: 10/10
It's my first time experiencing so many twists and turns in every arc that I was never bored with the ideas this anime threw at me. But of course the most memorable arc has to be the Chimera Ant arc. That arc teared my heart in so many ways. I did not expect that HxH had the capability to do so. And here I thought I wasn't going to like that arc but how wrong was I again. Definitely the strongest of all arcs. But my favorite has to be the Hunter Exam arc. It's what started everything and still remains iconic.
Art: 9/10
Well I have to be honest since my first impression on the anime was that it was childish, well it was because of the art style. And I'm ashamed that I judged HxH too soon. The animation gets better don't worry. And the art style is not at fault, it's mine.
Sound: 9/10
The background sound always cheers me up when the episode is going near the end. It's like it's urging me to watch the next episode. For the opening and ending song, at first I wasn't that hyped up about it, like it wasn't that good to be honest BUT since the opening song remained the same throughout the whole 148 episodes, it remained stuck in my head that when I finished the whole series, I began to miss it soooo much. It was like an anthem for HxH. "YOU CAN SMILE AGAAAAAIIIN" remained in my soul after this like YES THIS IS MY JAM.
Character: 10/10
Ugh the characters of this anime is such a masterpiece. You can't argue with me. This is the first time where I experienced in an anime where the main characters of the story are not always together throughout the 148 episodes. I'm not kidding. Although Gon and Killua were one of the main and was together throughout the journey, Kurapika and Leorio were not much shown for the rest of the arcs BUT that's why the four of them reuniting makes it more precious. It's so amazing that right from the beginning each one of them had different goals (well for Killua he's still finding it but accompanying Gon became his goal throughout the journey but not his final). So that's why their paths never match and they had to find their own journey throughout the series. I love that this anime gives us viewers the point of view of not only Gon but with the rest of the characters.
So I'm just going to lay out my realizations for these two characters: Gon and Killua.
For Gon who smiled and worked hard at everything, who would've thought that he'd have such a dark side to him?
For Killua who looked so cool and who we thought had everything under control, who would've thought that he'd show such vulnerability and affection throughout the series?
Enjoyment: 10/10
Uhhhh DUH of course a perfect 10. Never got bored. Even though I laughed at the first few episodes because I thought it was childish, hey I didn't stopped did I? Just goes to show how much I enjoyed and wanted to continue the anime.
Overall: 10/10
A MASTERPIECE. Beginning until the end. I wasn't disappointed. Although I wanted more, however, I thought the ending was befitting. The arcs did justice to contribute to the diversity and uniqueness of HxH. The characters learned, grew and had so much impact on every episode, I wanted to embrace them for a job well done. And for the creator Yoshihiro Togashi, I'm such a fan /cue tears/.
If my review still didn't convince you to watch the 148 episodes of HxH because you think it's too long, then you're definitely missing out on something worth more than 148 episodes.

I think the best part in any story is bringing the reader with you on a journey. And I think Honey and Clover delivered that really well.
I love how it's a slow yet sturdy journey. Like there's no need to rush the scenes, the progress of the characters growth -- especially the progress of forgetting someone you love or rushing into new love. I mean it's alright to be still hang up on some shitty guy you love -- that's life. It's okay to feel lost a lot of times because hey there's no manual in life -- cuz that's reality. But there's a beauty

in it all, and I love how the pace of the story connects every thing.
The author definitely brought each character into life. You could really relate to each one of them. You feel their struggle, their happiness and sadness -- the whole journey. You'll appreciate a lot of things when watching this anime, like for me -- art.
One of the best things or main point for me in the story was when the main character felt lost. Even I understood what he's going through, what he had to do. And I wished I had his courage.
You'll also learn a lot of quotes and life lessons in the story. And it's really a beautiful way to tell a reader that "Hey, I'm here for you" indirectly.
Overall, a 10/10 masterpiece.

With every arc, with every chapter, it just gets better.
What made me read the manga was of course the anime itself which at that time was still ongoing. The world this author created was truly tragic, terrifying, and yet hopeful.
With the escape arc, I thought I knew how the story will go but I was completely wrong. I felt the pain of the characters, their struggle, their hope and at the end I was always rooting for them.

love about it is the character's value for each other. That "family prevails all" type of lesson. You'll also love the characters so much, and see their struggle of how an apocalyptic world could change you for better or for worse.
No chapter was boring for me. It kept me guessing and it kept me questioning on what's going to happen next. There are a lot of plot twists -- and its the best kind, even though it'll excite or hurt you as a reader.
The hype that this manga is getting is really worth hyping for. Even if its already at chapter 137, not once did I got bored. The mystery and excitement is still there and its still getting bigger and bigger as the story progresses.
But what astounds me are the protagonists of the story. I'm looking forward on what's going to happen with their journey. Because as of now, its a bumpy road.

What drew me to this anime is definitely the story.
I'm not sure if there's an anime that's similar to this or not, nonetheless Death Parade showed me a new take on anime.
I love how this anime took on death/afterlife as a game on the spot or a trial even after their death. I really love the idea.
There's a mystery to every character, to every episode. It really keeps you wanting more. The only downside to this anime though is the limitation of having only 12 episodes. I wish they'd dove more on the stories of the minor characters. But I'm still going to

give this anime a 10/10. It made me cry, it made me wonder and question the mystery of the plot. And the opening really tricks you into thinking that it's going to be a fun anime. WRONG. It's tragic my friends.
