I think variety is important in all things, so I'm pretty open to trying new shows from genres I wouldn't normally watch as much. A few things that will greatly improve my odds of liking a show are well-developed or interesting characters, an impressive or at least unique art style, and a story that isn't completely boring.

Some genres that I appreciate more often than not are comedies, dramas, mysteries, and shows with a psychological aspect. That doesn't mean I'm never up for a slice of life or battle harem show, though, because the mood can definitely strike. I'm also a sucker for a good romance, but those are generally pretty hard to come by, so I'd appreciate any recommendations.

I don't tend to keep up with many seasonal anime as they are coming out, generally just one or two that catch my eye. I prefer to watch things at my own pace and rarely watch more than a couple series at a time.

My other hobbies include music, art, and tea, and I'd be happy to talk about any of those too.
