And here we have, Boku dake ga Inai Machi.
Set in the year 2006, Satoru Fujinuma, a 29 years old manga artist, has a special ability known as "Revival", in which he would travel back in time several seconds, to grant him an opportunity to help on a crisis event which is usually life-threatening issue. On a fateful day, Sachiko (Satoru's mother) visited him for certain reasons. As the episode continues, she managed to deduce a man who was responsible for the incident that happened 18 years ago. This, in return, caused the said man to come to silence her which costed her her life. As things turned unfavorable, with his "revival", satoru was taken back to the year 1988, when he was still an 11 years old elementary school student.
And this isn't the beginning yet.
Boku dake ga Inai Machi, as many has also refer it commonly as 'Erased', is a mystery show filled with many interesting details and a smooth flow of mysterious stories. The stories were reveal in Satoru's perspective and each episode is able to catch the viewers' attention, resulting most of them to ask for more. As the refreshing stories were pleasant, both the opening and ending theme songs fit them perfectly. The opening theme song was adequate enough to bring the viewers back into the show. And the ending theme matches the finish scene to end with a strong desire of wanting the next episode.
There are many positive factors in Boku dake ga Inai Machi but not all anime are perfect. There are always bound to have flaws - which is either minor enough that most would accept and still satisfied with the show or major to the point that the viewers have to point out their frustrations and disappointment.
Now I'll move on to the flaws that concern this anime.
In Boku dake ga Inai Machi, the issue though is, some may have grasped the truth in the early episodes. As it's critical to hide the truth to the viewers in mystery shows, this could cause serious damage to some of the viewers in the aftermath.
Unfortunately, the flaw does not end here. As there are many things that are fresh and interesting, there is roughly an equal amount that were left unexplained. With this, the show become a paradox. This, thus, create a divide between the viewers, in which one who isn't disturbed by it or the other that is unease.
To conclude, the flaws in the show does not affect me as much as it may have done to the other viewers. Hence, in my honest opinion, this show could have the potential to become a masterpiece. But the noticeable flaws are are keeping it from achieving the best and a position in one of the top place.
I'm aware of some bad reviews in this show. As a viewer and reviewer myself, your ultimate decision lies in yourself. And I am completely acceptable when others have different opinions as compared to mine. read more

Amagami SS was the first anime that adopted the style "Omnibus Format". Each heroine had 4 episodes arc in which their romantic confrontation was completed. By each confront's conclusion, the universe would reset to the initial world for the next heroine's romantic confrontation to begin. All memories of moments that happened during the 4-episode arc are also wiped. Photokano was successful in doing the same style.
However, Photokano which was aired in an omnibus format, used a different approach compared to Amagami SS. It used an introductory arc to let the viewers know more about the characters. Then, it approaches to appeal the viewers using the omnibus format.
Many would think that one or two episodes for each character may be too short. I might have to disagree with that.
The few episodes duration was enough. Even with the short duration, they've managed to deliver a well-developed character progress. Each heroine has drastically improve their relationship with the protagonist. Remember, at the end, the anime only has 13 episodes, with about half has been taken off for the introduction arc. If you're looking for a fully developed romantic anime, this place is not for you, please leave.
One thing I would like to mention which is the introduction arc. It's not very appealing and is superficial in expressing the show to its viewers. When I began watching this show, I was expecting this show might not produce great results. Although the omnibus format truly surprised me, the introduction arc didn't cause a great impact on me to continue watching it. In the end, one would think it's just an introduction. If the introduction were juicy, will it affect the main story and the climax? Ultimately, the decision lies on the viewers. For me, I'm fine with the advancement they used.
But again, this anime doesn't have many advantages. The only think I like is that they surprised me with using the omnibus format and the acceptable character development within such short duration. Other than that, I wouldn't say I'm very interested in the most other areas of the show.
In a nutshell, this anime is designed specially for people who are looking for an omnibus format style anime. If you like Amagami SS , this could be a wonderful gem for you. However, if you prefer a fully detailed romance anime, I suggest you drop this anime immediately.

Firstly, I would like to emphasis on the story. The story was beautifully written. It has a heart-rending feeling plus a special relationship between the main character and the female android to enhance the touch given to the viewer. Such elegant story was amazing and could grace anyone who watch it. Therefore, I would believe this story should receive a round of applause.
Secondly, the sound was slightly above the range of decent. I'll be honest here and I did not think the sound did as good as it should do. I know this may be an one episode show but my impression was the producer did not focus too well on this section. It's still acceptable but I think it could be improve.
Thirdly, the character development is one of my favorite. I understand that the development may be little but look again, this is an one episode show. I would believe that if this were a 12 episodes or more show, the development would surely be much more greater. Aside that, the personality and the way how they behave is very entertaining. It's very realistic and I felt I was almost drawn into the show itself.
Finally, I greatly enjoyed this anime. The anime has a pleasant, fun-loving and carefree sense. If you're looking for a short but sweet, sci-fi and touching anime, what are you waiting for? This is one of the few must-watch OVA!

Enjoyment? or Hatred?
I think that this people who watched this anime has split into two kinds. One, enjoyed most or every episodes. The other, disliked most or every single episodes. I belonged to the group that enjoyed this anime.
Comparing to other slice of life anime, this anime has a very unusual way of showing its storyline. The anime expressed the joy, comedy, its own story and "daily life" into a single form. And every episodes should have that special form. Hence, this is why I enjoyed every single episodes of the anime.
I would also like to state that I am attracted by the development of the characters. The characters are changing 'uniformly'. Thus, I could see the growth of bonds between each main characters.
Real life? Virtual life?
Another point I would like to say is the anime has the effect of 'real life example'. What I meant is that the anime does not stick too closely to anime (like things that happen only in virtual world). The anime shows me that every incident that occur, the characters thoughts etc are all based on real life.
Once again, I think this anime deserve a well applause of clap. I was astonished at the score for this anime. Anyway, I believe this anime has done a great job.
I apologised if my English has any incorrect spellings, grammar mistakes etc. I also apologised if my review is not understandable. This is my first review and I appreciate it if you would give your honest answer (helpful or not helpful). Have a nice day. read more
