I haven't thought about Plastic Memories a lot since it ended, but even so it feels like such a unique and strange experience. I was happy to read your thoughts since they summed up my own so well.

Its... really hard to justify the plot. I have an interpretation that makes some sense of it even if it's not perfect. But Xamd is a show very early in my anime watching days, before the likes of Bakemonogatari and Durarara, that really made an impression on me and what I end up looking for in anime because it's priorities and focuses were very unlike anything I had seen up to that point. I think it's worth trying again in your case, but it really only holds up upon rewatch so that you catch all the details you inevitably miss.
