Nice to meet you!
Thanks for accepting my FR😊
How are you doing?
Yeah, I do it while I'm using an elliptical or simply stretching. It's pretty efficient though since it helps me stay in shape and allows me to get through series I don't care as much to be fully focused on.
That's a fair way to go about it. Hope it clicks with you, but yeah, no reason to force yourself to keep going if it doesn't. I get what you mean about action in manga; it absolutely can be a nightmare to figure out what exactly is happening for some series. I think Oda does do a good job though!
Yeah, he was supposed to return from haitus mid. Nov or early Dec., but his injury flared back up and he's planning on taking at least another half a year off to make sure he recovers properly. Definitely hope it's not anything truly harmful long term!
Oh, I'm not up-to-date with the OP anime right now. I am with the manga though and I'd honestly recommend that over the anime, especially once you reach a certain point; the pacing becomes horrendously slow to compensate for catching up to the manga. Honestly, I'm just slowly catching up with the anime by watching an episode or two while I do my routine workouts, lol.
But anyway, the moment I got super hooked to it was episode 160ish (Skypiea). Ended up watching from 160 to 500+ in roughly 2.5 weeks (there's no way I could do anything like that ever again, lol). I think the anime does a fairly good job up until perhaps 400-500ish. Then the issue of the pacing starts to become really noticeable. So if you like it, but don't really want to go through with the huge episode commitment, I'd highly recommend reading the manga. The anime is a nice experience though before the pacing issue since the voice actors/actresses do a great job and the OSTs are pretty good!
To be honest, I think the beginning of ToG is just alright. The first season (78ish chapters, iirc), which is what the anime covers, is essentially one huge prologue. Once you get to season 2 though, it really takes off and becomes something incredible; helps that the art gets way better too! But I don't blame you for taking your time; series is on haitus until at least May since the author is struggling with health issues.
