If you enjoy metaphors, symbolism and interpreting stuff, you will probably like this show. Otherwise you will hate this anime's guts and shouldn't touch it at all even if many give it the all-time-classic rating.
Luckily for me, I adore metaphors so I was intrigued and entertained. However, there are still very tedious parts, especially towards the middle. In fact I considered dropping it but decided against that and I thank my past me for that as I now finally have food for thought during commutes again. This anime may have changed my outlook on the internet.
