Simply this anime surrounds 3 main characters with many many other sub characters. The main character Gintoki is the hero of this anime, being a uniquely lazy hero who has this humorous charm about him which makes us all laugh and love him. This anime most DEFINATELY has the best arcs I have ever seen in any long running anime. Most arcs (eg. 9/10 arcs) or sub stories are all extremely well played out and written leaving me laughing or even tearing and crying in some episodes. This anime makes you love every character, as it is a long running anime, it creates depth with
...
each character, making you love each and every single one of them.
the only let down is that this is still a japanese cultured anime, having a lot of its humor and jokes made for only japanese people to understand which leaves foreigners wishing they were japanese.
All in all, a must watch anime.

Kokoro Connect, an anime centering around 5 highschool students whos lives are suddenly changed when weird events begin to unfold. This anime is quite appealing in many ways, as the first few episodes draw you in incredibly well with the first event that occurs between the 5 students. HOWEVER, the later episodes, even though good and entertaining, it is most definately not as engaging as the earlier episodes.
Firstly, what the anime does very well, is the trials and obstacles which the 5 protagonist must endure and overcome are very engaging and interesting to watch. The characters are also varied enough to appeal to a
...
greater audience, as well as having great visuals and music, the anime is well done, however what the anime lacks, is RESOLUTION.
Even with its unique characters, and interesting plot twists, the anime has too many holes, holes in the story which should have been explained and resolved through out the anime and the end. This somewhat ruins the anime in a way, as it seems somewhat incomplete, and too random at times.
I gave this anime a 4, HOWEVER, i was considering rating it a 3. Why? Because even though this anime is great, and is definately something i recommend for all its pros, this anime feels somewhat lacking and unmemorable towards the end, which is quite frustrating seeing as this anime is a good anime.
All in all, 4/5 overall, however my personal opinion would be, that this anime is lacking that something which would have made it GREAT. (The Kokoro Connect game has recently been released on PSP, so maybe the stories plot-holes can be filled :])

A Bridge to the starry skies, is an adaptation of the visual novel "Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi". The anime centers around 2 brothers, moving from the city to the country side due to the poor health of the younger sibling.
The anime is a cliche of romance and harems, as this is an adaptation from a game, therefore should be expected. Even with this, the anime does well, as the beautiful visuals is very appealing and quite outstanding in any standard of anime. The characters are different and varied enough that the heroines don't seem dull, therefore bodes well for a romance anime. I must
...
however say, that as expected from a game adaption, it isnt the greatest or the most outstanding romance anime, however it does well as a harem, and EXTREMELY well as an adaptation, compared to other game-to-anime adaptations.
All in all this anime is worth a watch if you like romance and comedy, it is quite cliched in many parts, however it works well with this. If you really like this anime, i recommend you try the game, as the stories of the other heroines are quite interesting.

This anime centers clearing on only a few main characters with sub main characters for each little story or episode. Having a uniquely different kind of hero and main character of the anime, being very nerdy and some what a very anti-social person clearly shows a major difference in the typical 'prince' or obvious outstanding hero the main character is usually played out to be. This was most likely the main pros for this anime as it works very well, using this unique character that is somewhat comical and relatively average looking non-socialist to play the lead role. With each harem or female sub main
...
character, they are created somewhat typically, however each somewhat different, therefore suits perfectly into this anime (must watch to know what i mean).
Therefore, a great anime which incorporates good comical humor that we all love as well as the romance and characters that make me want to see more and more of this anime.

This anime is by far one of the most entertaining anime's that i have ever seen. The anime itself is based on the sport of 'American Football', with this said, I was not initially drawn into watching this anime with knowing this alone. However after spending some time watching the first few episodes, i found myself stuck watching the entire series within a matter of days. This anime is by far one of the most entertaining and captivating animes i have seen, incorporating a large range of characters in the football team 'Daemon Devil Bats', from the quiet and underestimated main character, Sena who plays
...
as the Running back in the team, Haruma the Captain of the team as well as having a some what shady and evil back ground and many many other characters.
The most captivating thing about this anime is i think the range of characters and their unique and comical personalities which make this sport anime extremely entertaining. Also, the anime's theme itself relvolving around a sport allows it to build up suspense and tension in many of the matches, making you feel like your actually watching a real game! Having to watch more and more until the end of the match!
The storyline is based on a 'Gopher' names Sena, who unknowingly gains the ability to run extremely fast. He is made to be an incredibly weak main character compared to the regular main heroes in other anime's, however this means throughout the anime we can see Sena grow stronger and more reliable therefore making it quite entertaining. Not only does the anime show the growth of the main character, but this also allows us to know the main character in more depth, as this is a long running anime. With the growth of the main character and many of the other characters in the team throughout many matches and training, you can't help but literally cheer on the Daemon Devil Bats!!
Overall this anime, just hearing that this anime is a sport anime about football, don't let that put you off! This is an incredible anime, having everything an entertaining anime of this genre needs. I HIGHLY recommend anyone and everyone to watch this anime, even if you are not a big fan of anime of this genre.

Bleach, an anime centered around Ichigo, a "Highschool student-turn-Shinigami (reaper)" is a good anime.
Having a great main story-line with loads of action packed fight scenes.
HOWEVER, for a long running anime Bleach in all honesty is only 'Good' not Great. The early episodes of this anime proved to be one of the best and most interesting fighting anime's out there. The main story-line was great however the arcs (fillers) have most definately been stretched out much too long. The fillers in Bleach let the anime lose its momentum in terms of excitement. The fight scenes also sometimes feels too repetitive stretching out for 8
...
episodes sometimes which honestly makes the fighting seem a lot less intense as some fights can definately be made in half the episodes. The characters also are not very unique in a sense, several characters differ greatly from each other of course, however most of the villains and many of the shinigami are actually not entirely unique. Ichigo, being the protagonist sometimes also lacks what usually a main character in a fight anime needs; in all honesty besides the orange hair, he's not a very UNIQUE 'hero' as if you just change his hair color to black, he can definitely pass off as a sub character.
Even with these faults, the overall story-line in this anime as well as the excellent music and animation which is pretty much as good as it gets for any anime proves to make this anime a lot more captivating. However i still believe that this anime seems 'Over rated' as a lot of the time the anime can most definitely improve, luckily seeing as the later episodes after the 'Aizen Storyline' seem to be more fast paced which is perfect for an anime like this.
A great anime for those who love fighting anime (Naruto/One piece etc.)
However, my opinion entirely, it's only an average anime out there.

This anime centers around Haruhi Suzumiya, literally. The anime revolves around how her "friends" must endure their life at highschool making sure Haruhi is NEVER bored, sad, confused etc. or the world will end because she is God.
The anime had great potential, but for some unknown reason has many great reviews 5/5 stars etc etc. But I honestly cannot fathom, how this anime could rate so highly.
The story-line, though unique and interesting, even though confusing at first; you can understand it as you progress through the anime. As well as having an interesting concept, this anime would score highly for that, BUT THAT
...
ALONE.
The character, Haruhi Suzumiya, is presented to be loved and admired by many many people in her highschool; however after enduring the entire 2 seasons and movie, I honestly cannot see the appeal that a lot people have for this anime and its heroine.
Kyon (the protagonist) is a solid main character, however, his influence in the anime is pretty much reduced to nothing, due to Haruhi's character dominating the anime, this means the anime solely revolves around Haruhi alone which is it's first downfall.
I honestly can say that i have never seen a heroine that has ticked me off as much as Haruhi. She is a selfish, self-centered and egocentric girl, who is also simply a terrible person (Honestly, who really cares if she is 'cute'. Every bloody heroine in any anime can be cute and act cute. The CHARACTER is whats important!) She does not realise how selfish she is, nor does she grow any more humane, she does not have an epiphany or any realization even at the end of the anime, which i thought was the biggest let down, as the anime takes you on a journey exploring her character.
If you honestly like this anime, you some how overlooked Haruhi then, because i cannot, in anyway possible show any love for a character which seems to be more like the villain.
Simply a bad execution, to a good concept for an anime. All thanks to the terrible use of 1 character; visuals are great, music is good too, but the characters use is a bit lackluster, Kyon and the other sub characters are rather interesting to watch, however I do not believe this anime deserves the praise it has gotten.
If you disagree, i honestly think you should just watch more anime (A LOT MORE), and then watch this again, to understand where i'm coming from. You'd probably have just as much difficulty liking the anime to its fullest. (The movie however does change it up a bit, where Kyon gets his much needed time to shine as a main character, therefore making the movie a lot better than the anime in a lot of aspects.)
All in all. CHARACTERS ARE IMPORTANT. and how they are portrayed, should at least make more sense. (Having a highschool girl being a god that created the world 3 years ago, who is selfish, self-centered and not very likable is unique, but for the wrong reasons.) I really wanted to like this anime, as there is a lot of praise for it and I was expecting more, however not to say this is a bad anime, it is disappointing none the less.
Also, this is meant to be a mix of sci-fi and slice of life genre's, i'll be blunt: This anime cannot hold up on its own in either genre's.
If you want a sci-fi anime watch: Cowboy Bebop or Ano Natsu de Matteru
If you want a slice of life anime watch: Natsume Yujin-cho, Kimi to Boku or Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the slope)
After watching these great anime, I wont lie and say this anime is great or even good, it is only average. Sub-par. Trust me, you can't review an anime and say "Everything is awesome, just ignore the "Endless Eight" and it's definately 5/5!!" THATS THE SAME AS SAYING "This movie is awesome, as long as you ignore 40 minutes of the movie!!!" you just can't do that.

Natsume, a young highschool boy with the 'gift' of seeing spirits since he was a child. The anime shows the events that unfold since he moved from the city to a country town to live with his distant relatives due to various circumstances, as well as revealing Natsume's past as he goes through his everyday life. However what makes this anime so great, is possibly simply the atmosphere of the anime itself. The anime is written superbly, the writers are able to create an anime which gives a relaxing feel while watching; as well as being entertaining. The anime does not have a linear plot
...
or goal of any sort, which is rare for its genre of drama. Although it lacks any obvious story-line, it is obvious that after watching this anime, the writers goal was simply to take viewers on a journey through a kind hearted boys life; as he discovers more and more about himself as well has his ability to see spirits which he as always felt burdened by, he discovers that not all spirits are cruel, but some are loving, even more so than those who are living around him.
This anime deserves much more praise than i am giving it, being able to reach the heart of the viewers with each and every episode. Therefore it would be more than fair to say this anime deserves nothing less than 10/10.

First off this isn't the "BEST ANIME EVER"
With that being said though, it is still a great anime.
Sword Art Online, an adaptation of a short series manga worthy of being a recommendation on anyone's list. The anime revolves around Kirito, a teenage boy who is trapped in a virtual MMO game with 10'000 other players. The premise of the game is to fight up the tower of which they start in and reach the 100th floor, whilst avoiding death at all cost as dying in game results in dying in real life.
The anime story is quite solid, based around the concept of being able
...
to be in a virtual game (Body and all) is a great start (who doesn't want to be able to go INTO a game right?). The anime is solely based on Kirito's journey in the game, which is its first downfall however, seeing as the other characters lacked a lot of depth that they should have gotten (Characters such as Klien and Egil, look like such interesting characters, but almost seem like strangers since we dont know anything about them..) However it is understandable seeing as this is a short series anime. Another problem with the story was the time jumps, as said previously the anime is a short anime, therefore it was necessary to do this, however I think that most people, including me would have preferred if the anime continued longer; which would have allowed us to continue to watch the journey of Kirito AS WELL as the other characters in the anime (I'm sure there were much more adventures and monsters). The only other character that gets any sufficient depth would be Asuna, Kirito's romantic interest, which is also a nice addition to the anime as there is a lot of romance elements in the anime which is very well done as well.
With this being said, the anime still does remarkably well. With the first few episodes being extremely engaging and entertaining with the introduction to a virtual gaming world, as well as the loss of friends and comrades. However the anime does lose this momentum as it goes onto its latter episodes, which is probably due to the lack of depth the anime actually gave to the characters and the world itself. Seeing as the animation in this anime is very beautiful with vast landscapes and bustling towns, the animation and artwork alone can be compared to that of other top tier anime.
All in all, the anime does well as it was very entertaining to watch. With an awe inspiring world that SHOULD have been showed off more (I think most viewers didn't really even care about the artwork, as it was not emphasized much.) and captivating journey of Kirito and Asuna, with the emotional short stories of friendship and loss. Sword Art Online is a must watch on my list, however the anime leaves viewers with a bit of an empty feeling at the end which is the thing that stops me from giving this anime a solid 9/10, as everyone i believe, knows that this anime COULD have been and SHOULD have been even better. Therefore it gets 8/10 seeing as with all this said, it is enjoyable to watch.
