I'm that one weird dude who likes old anime and giant robot shows. So get off my lawn kids because the golden age of anime was back in the 80s when they had money, many of the all-time greats were in their prime, there was no copyright, fashion was on point, there were no moe blobs, there were adult protagonists, they were actually trying new stuff, and it was generally awesome. Man, how did we go from awesome stuff like Angel Cop to endless CGDCT shows?
I also host a podcast about anime called the
the Chinese Cartoon Podcast, so please take a listen if you have the time!
Finally,
I have a blog that updates weekly called the Great OAV Watch where I watch loads of weird, old, and obscure OAVs. Currently I'm transferring across all of the old reddit threads but within a couple of months the site will be all caught up.

Cus do yourself a favour, and slip the 50 minute movie Brothers Grimm. The Golden Bird in there.

Best animation and backgrounds I've seen in 80's anime, and no one knows about it!
I only came across it by chance last night.
I highly recommend the recap music videos.
Hurricane Live! 2032 https://myanimelist.net/anime/5043
they're MTV-style sakuga mads set to the soundtrack. the two best parts of the show.
what better way to fix the pacing, then cut out 30 minutes of dialogue and story!?
I downloaded episode 25 of horrible's release. I can confirm that it is Venice of the Dead, i.e. special episode 1 or the true episode 6.
Unfortunately, there are only 2 of them [6 eps]
I don't know why though
I noticed here the dub and sub ep no.s are 2 off

Because of 2 OVAs - Venice of the Dead and Nonstop Rendezvous.
Is that these specials?

Flag not only is my favourite mecha, but is also one of my favourite shows ever. I watched that a month of so ago.
However Bubblegum was not for me, far 2 80's 4 me.
Can any of the many Devilman singletons be watched standalone?
The ova was also emulating Ken Ishikawa's later style, not Nagai's. Ishikawa originally had an artstyle closer to Nagai but it changed after the years. And yes, Getter Robo was a huge influence on TTGL. TTGL's script writer Kazuki Nakashima actually edited the Getter Robo Saga manga compilation, calls himself Ishikawa's number one fan and said in an interview, did a memorial address at Ishikawa's funeral, and that there is lot of Ken Ishikawan-ism in TTGL. He's even featured in the Getter Robo bible.
These fan videos show Ken Ishikawa's style.
