Anime is kool, studying it is fun and watching is sometimes not a chore.
Also I've now decided to decimal everything because my MAL is filled with too many 7s I don't feel like changing to 6s. Probably because the gap between a 7 and an 8 is larger than a 6 to a 7 and thus I cannot articulate how I group shows I rate the same with conventional understandings of numeracy and so I have to resort to specifying the numbers, which would really only further complicate the issue but numbers are a silly idea anyway so there's little to be done.
Actually no, decimals were a terrible eyesore and a silly idea, my score system is now /100 because that actually makes sense.
The nature of these numbers and their explanations ultimately exists beyond what I can type below, I may give a 10 to a film I hope to never watch again, or I could reward a 3 for a work that is technically competent, but ideologically or philosophically intolerable. These sorts of sentiments are to do with complicated reasoning pertaining to the work, these blanket statements are not to be taken as some kind of ascription of ideal qualities, but rather a half-baked attempt to describe my expectations of that which would pertain such a number.
Actually, no again to the /100 shit, it's way too nebulous, just going to stick with high/low/mid etc.
10 - A ππππππππππππππ masterpiece that captivated me in such an indescribable manner, it's hard to really pinpoint what qualifies as a 10 as it embodies an almost ephemeral quality, but being a 10 is pretty unbelievable.
9 - An incredible piece of work and a favourite, probably grabbed a hold of me episode 1 and didn't think to let go the whole way through.
8 - An stellar creation that executed it's ideas well enough and had appealed to me in such a way that knowing I had watched it is a pretty good feeling.
7 - A wonderful piece of work who's good aspects eclipsed the bad, impressive conveyance of it's ideas, perhaps even moving or thought provoking, likely a few hiccups here and there, maybe something that made me raise my eyebrow in disapproval but no deal breakers.
6 - Fairly competent effort, had a lot to like or even love, but probably a tad that certainly wasn't worth loving, or if not that just not enough that was all that mind blowing, still a net good though.
5 - Does it's job, maybe a little more but there's not much to write home about, it's barely above average, and that in it's own way makes it a less interesting experience, still content I watched for what it was, though I'm not going to be freaking out over it, I wouldn't be quick to say I liked it, but I wouldn't call it bad either.
4 - Depending on the strength of the 4 this is either average or just barely below average. It had a few issues that prevented me from viewing it that positively, or just not enough good aspects that made it worth watching, though not offensive by any means.
3 - Low quality efforts that actively frustrated me whilst watching, any aspects that could have saved it are meaningless, in the face of its mediocrity, though I don't think I'm that angry or bothered that I watched it, anything from here on is definitely really bad.
2 - Entering the danger zone now, if a show is really a 2 I would've likely dropped it out of the gate, unwatchable, plagued with incompetence, though at the very least it didn't repulse me beyond belief.
1 - Offensive, repugnant, reprehensible, nauseating, if a show is this bad, then watching it is pretty much saying that I've done a crime to myself, if I really came across something this irredeemable I would be floored. To be a 1 you'd have to either offend me or have virtually nothing to offer me.

If I was to watch a middle school setting show it would have to be for another reason than the School genre.
I tend to like to start a conversation with everyone I invite instead of just giving you a random invite.
What show has surprised you the most this season?
