The movie is disappointing and tried to do more and failing in the end. Has it achieved what it wants to set out to do? No. The movie's half-baked, it wanted to tell a love story with a mix of science fiction but in the end, it's just a bog-standard romance anime. The "Science" in the movie could just be replaced by "Magic" and nothing different could have happened. There isn't any world-building and in the end, it just fucks us over by just saying that there McGuffin disappeared into some other dimensions

The Zero no Tsukaima anime is very mediocre although some aspects of the anime is somewhat redeemable:
The story is "ok" not at all great. The two main characters are fair they do have some good chemistry together The supporting cast are entertaining. So this is the part where I deconstruct and critique the anime: The story is average at best, this is because of the substance it gives like what's the motivation of the character main and the sub character. The 2 main character are somewhat common today, but something stands-out in the focus of the story instead of the Male protagonist, Saito, being the main focus it was ... |
