Oh, wow, I hadn't considered that! That's actually a really neat theory, and it would elevate the Date case above mere foreshadowing and minor characterization to something especially relevant. I kind of hope that the route that Gosho opts to take now, as it would have a lot of dramatic potential and elegantly tie Date into the overarching narrative.

I may in the future, but probably not too soon, as I'm currently working on several different blog posts about several anime. It is an idea to keep in mind, so thank you for suggesting it! As for KID and Mystery Train, Gosho said in an interview that the phantom theif is unlikely to get involved in BO affairs again, but I wouldn't put too much stock into what Gosho, or any author for that matter, says in an interview, so it's a definite possibility. Kid's parting line at the conclusion of the case, "Now you're in my debt" suggests something significant happening later down the line.

Welcome to Myanimelist!

Why, thank you, and your welcome! I appreciate your kind words. I'm flattered you made an account just to tell me that.

It's interesting that you describe Gintama that way. I have always assumed that it's a clever comedy and nothing more. You definitely have me interested in it now. I actually started it a while back but didn't get through the first episode. I had to attend to other matters and put it aside to return to later, but it never happened, and admittedly I didn't find what I saw terribly interesting or compelling. I did always intend to get back to it eventually, though (because I know a lot of good shows take a few episode to really hit their stride), but with my pace it probably would have taken me quite a while. Based on what you said (comparing it to Hunter X Hunter!) I'll move it up my priority list, and I'm definitely looking forward to watching it!

I have read some theories that considered the possibility that the reason Gosho refuses to let time in the manga advance beyond a few months is because that would reveal that Haibara and Conan actually aren't aging anymore, a reveal that he's saving for the end of the story (or close to it). It's an interesting idea and one I wouldn't be surprised to discover is true.

Hajime no Ippo I've heard a lot about, the other not so much. I appreciate the recommendations and I'll keep them in mind. However, I probably won't get around to them for a while, since I already have so many anime on my list that I need to finish.

Once again, welcome to Myanimelist! I hope I see you around.
