Bakuman. 3rd Season
add

These are two completely different series that share, however, a somewhat similar way to deal with friendship and human relationships. I personally think that even though the plots have nothing in common and Durarara's story contains mystery and avant-garde elements, while Bakuman focus on two young men's dream of becoming professional mangaka. In Bakuman 3 the set is a bit different already. Nevertheless, I would challenge fans of both Durarara and the Bakuman universe to get to know both series (and also the amazing manga of Bakuman).

They are both funny parodies of the original shows altough Kuragehime was already a comedy.

Urashima Tarou (1931)
add

This was one of the first "historical" (history-based) animations ever done, and it goes all back to 1931, and there's a first version from the end of the 1910's decade, I just can not find it anywhere to watch... If you ever wondered how the anime industry got to be this way, and actually have the oportuinity to watch Rurouni Kenshin, please go to YouTube and watch Urashima Tarou, it's only 2 minutes long.

Push
add

Although Nekojiru-sou is a little bit longer, both Neko and Osamu Tezuka's PUSH share deep reflections on human behaviour, and are meant to be watched with close attention and open mind. Nekojirou-sou may disturb some viewers.

Usagi Drop

Both want to be good drama shows, full of real life situations, and both fail in the process. Usagi is better than Ano Hi. Both are boring and overhyped.

If you pay attention to it, Puni Puni Poemi was already making the jokes you watch on P&S w/ Garterbelt, some years ago.

Random comedy in both.

If you liked

Soul Eater
add

Both handle the shinigami topic in a shounen-oriented way. I personally hated Zombie Loan, and kinda hated Soul Eater since episode 25 or 26. Still, if you enjoyed one, you'll probabily enjoy the other.

Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai

Both deal with the problems of otaku (in the true sense of the word). I think both of them are terrible, terrible anime, but If you enjoyed one you'll probably like the other, so don't mine my opinion, and give it a try.

If you liked
Black Lagoon

...then you might like
Canaan
add

If you enjoyed the action scenes of Black Lagoon, you'll probably enjoy Canaan. Although Black Lagoon deals with different stories every 2-3 episodes, Canaan centers more in its original premise. Both are recent anime with great animation and sound quality, and the opening songs (Red Fraction from BLagoon and Mind as Judgement from Canaan) are awesome. Watch'em both! :D

If you liked
FLCL

Bakemonogatari
add

FLCL is one of the wackiest show from the first half of the 2000's. Well, Bakemonogatari is one of the crazyest show's from the second half of the 2000, and both will often keep you wandering what the hell is happening in front of you. Bakemonogatari, different from FLCL, has some creepy and serious moments. Watch'em both if you still haven't :D

If you liked
Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou

...then you might like
Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
add

They're both shoujo anime, romantic comedies. Although Kare Kano focuses a little bit more in romance, especially on the manga, it's an anime with lots of comedy, like Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama. Both often make use of Chibi animation, like a proper Shoujo should be. Kare Kano is from the 90's, and Kaichou from 2010, so you might say Kaichou followed, in parte, the legacy of His And Her Circumstances. Watch'em both if you can! :D

Avant-garde in similar ways. Strange plots. Ergo Proxy created a whole new story, while Gankutsuou adapted the Count Of Monte Cristo to a futuristic world. Both Ergo and Gankutsuou are complex and will make you think a lot.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
add

Both GOTF and TM8.0 deal with panic and crisis situations. The first centers in the WWII, and Tokyo Magnitude in an eventual earthquake that strikes Japan. Also, the drama, sadness, and death are very important parts to it, and both will bring tears to your eyes, although, being Grave Of The Fireflies a movie from 1988, you need to enjoy old anime to like this one.

K-On!

Azumanga Daioh and K-ON share a similar feeling. The main characters are all girls from school, and comedy is an important part. Also, the type of jolly and sometimes random humour is very alike.

Kimi ni Todoke
add

You fall in love for both, altough Sawako and Yukino are very different: the first is very shy, the second wants to stand out in front of everyone, but it's de role of Kazehaya and Arima that really matters in the story. Just their presence create major changes in the girls lives.
