That Free S3 soundtrack was great! I haven't posted anything about it yet because I want to listen more first. We have a couple more active members now, and one started a thread about classical influence on anime scores:

Okay Thanks

What type of soundtrack is it

Yeah, Tarja was fired right after that concert in 2005, it was a ridiculous embarrassing tabloid soap opera :P Both sides accused the other of being selfish, and it looks like Tuomas (founder/leader of Nightwish) was mad that Tarja chose an Argentino producer over him. That producer was the only one who jumped in to save her when a fan assaulted her on stage in Mexico in 2000 while the band just stood there, so no surprise she married him. After that they had a Swedish singer who wasn't classically trained and couldn't sing "operatic" style, she was good in her own way, but controversial. Then in 2012 they fired her and brought on Floor Jansen from After Forever, a longtime favorite of genre fans, and she can sing "operatic" but so far hasn't on the new material, which is really disappointing. Instead she uses the Doro Pesch "typical metal" style vocals.

I like a lot of Tarja's solo stuff, like this:

Not yet, but I will! :)

I like it! You've got a good atmosphere going with the choice of instruments and the bass/treble contrast, and I liked the way it would gradually get louder and then dramatically stop and leave only the keys, I always like that kind of thing. One old favorite example -

Glad to hear you didn't lost interest in Go Sakabe

Oh, I see. I hope Basilisk ends up online eventually.

Oh, cool :) Keep me updated.

I found this Kamen Rider Ghost OST via YouTube:

The one Amazon review says「内容は坂部曲と中川曲が半々で鳴瀬曲は少数?といった印象。」(I don't know Japanese, I read that through Google Translate.) But the files are all tagged with 中川幸太郎 Kōtarō Nakagawa as the artist. I do hear some stuff from the show soundtrack. Guess I'll never be able to tag it properly :P

Then there's this other Ghost movie:

Have you listened to either of those? IIRC you've basically lost interest in Go Sakabe until DAL 3. I was thinking I could click around the final episodes of his last anime, Basilisk: Ouka Ninpouchou, to see if anything sounded good, but I haven't yet.

I played 20-some levels of the game, liked it :) And then dropped my phone in a stream.

Re: the size limit, it's a shame MIDI isn't an option - you could fit in tons of tunes that way. :D I actually used to listen to MIDIs a lot when I was 15, since I didn't have any music library beyond a few game and film soundtracks, and I was 100% morally against piracy at the time. The SimCity 2000 MIDI soundtrack is an old favorite.

Oh haha thanks for clarifying! Anyways, it's a great OST :)
nDroae Sep 28, 2018 8:59 PM
Thank you! I'll start "promoting" it (by making my forum sig an image link and posting more than I usually do) soon, just want to get a few more threads up to get it "presentable." I'm really glad I'm not the only one who's posted there this year now, thanks for that. :D
nDroae Sep 28, 2018 7:39 PM
Cool, I just hope you never change your mind about that "reusing musical entities" quote that I've been pasting everywhere ;)

So far the only mobile game I've ever played is Kirara Fantasia :) I'll check that one out!

I've been spending all my time putting together stuff for that club! XD Really looking forward to being able to take a break! :D

I've taken over the old anime soundtrack club and given it the preposterous name "The Soundtrack Conservatory." I'll be posting some threads I've been writing for weeks, including some copy-pastes of conversations with you, so you'll be getting some notifications :) I expect you're still busy, but if you could drop in occasionally to comment on... anything, that would be great!
