Freesia (Manga) add
This manga is a story about an ex soldier that is nuts, and gets a job as a proxy enforcer in legal assasinations of criminals. But what this story is truly about is the effects of war, bureaucracy, and propaganda on both the collective consciousess and individuals, and how people delude themselves in order to deal with that.

It does so by following three stories at all times, the criminal's, the proxy enforcers, and the bits about the current state ofpolitical affairs, the latter not being directly explored, but being mentioned in such a way that if you are paying the minimun attention should notice.

Kaiba (Anime) add
This show is about the relationship between technology, humans and their enviorement, and how technology and the enviorement define what problems humans have.

Kaiba is divided into two "segments", first story/episode one where the world is slowly builded and the latter part where the actual plot takes part, between these two there is a tonal shift.

While the first has a more relaxed tone and focus on observing the wonders and scourges; the second half is more focused on human drama and the actual things that happened to the main cast; and how that relates to the current state of the world.

Visually Kaiba achieves both ...

Preliminary (80/120 chp)
I enjoyed the movie, and i heard the manga was better.

Its not, i couldnt even finish it.

The characters are even flatter than in the movie and thats saying a lot, the character relationships are just as articifial and forced as the plot progression, a lot of time is wasted on useless shit that doesnt further the plot nor helps worldbuilding.

On a more possitive note, i kinda enjoyed the art, and in the late chapters there is some top notch qual art, or so ive heard.

It has aged horribly, and the slow pace makes the characters n plot problems even more agravating.

Ive heard the last ...

Sangatsu no Lion is about the relationship of the characters with shogi, and with other persons, and how that defined them in the past, defines them in the present and will change them in the future.

Most of the screen time is used on character interaction, and visual tripy metaphores where the SHAFT influence really shines, that influence is also seen in scene transition and such. Conversations between characters are sublime, and the characters consist on one of the bests casts in all anime, period.

Furthermore, the tempo of the series is supreme, based more on the fact that they dont waste time in any episode. ...

Fire Punch (Manga) add
Its edgy, but it has a reason to be edgy.(this and the last line are the only important points here)

It is a story about a lot of things, as any good story should be; and never gets stagnated always keeping a good rithm. Needless to say, no moment is wasted as everything has a point either thematically narratively, to be funny or a combination or both.

Worderful management of scenes, delivering huge narrative and emotional (fire) punches.

Its not meant for everyone.

Im literally a fanboy of this manga, as you can see by the 10 i gave it, but I really have thought about the quality ...
