“No matter how many weapons you have, no matter how great your technology might be, the world cannot live without love!”
—Castle in the Sky (1986)
Score is really low due to lots of dementia shorts.
Personality type: INFJ
Emotions (=) Brain . I tend to listen to both sides while rating everything, although sometimes my emotional side prevails and I give really high scores to things, being able to touch my heart.
You can find detailed explanation of my ranking system right down below.
RANKING SYSTEM AND ALL RATING RELATED STUFF
Season is judged by its average result throughout all episodes and series is judged by its peak(highest rating throughout all seasons).
---- [Beyond bad or Reversed masterpiece] ---- It's really hard to make something this bad.Literally unwatchable, disgusting or anime that shouldn't exist
---- [Extremely bad or Barely watchable] ---- My eyes bleeded for 90% of time watching it, but I somehow finished it, there was/were some good character(s) or moment(s), that gave me hope that I will finally start enjoying it.There was a reason I didn't give 1 point, maybe a very good animation or nice music.
----[Very bad or Droppable] ---- It was hard to watch it, generic or stupid things or too much of fan-service and violence(typical shounen and isekai things, right?);it could be good at some point, but turned to shit or it was not good at all, but not that bad to give it 2 or 1
---- [Bad] ---- Not that hard to watch, but I just feel like I don't like it.Of course it also has lots of flaws and wasted potential.
---- [Indefinite or Average] ---- Don't know how to rate it, lots of mixed feelings.Average or forgetable.Common rating for summaries, ads and shounens.
---- [Pretty good or OK] ---- Not that forgetable, but could be much better developed, has a lot of wasted potential.Something between good and forgetable.
---- [Averagely good or Good] ---- Good, enjoyable and something that I will remember(at least not that easily forgetable).Simple story that reached its peak or smth that still has more undiscovered potential.
---- [Really good or beyond good] ---- I actually enjoy it.Characters(at least one of them is in my list of great characters) and plot are good.I was absorbed by things happening at some point.Still has a room to grow, of course.
---- [Insanely good or great] ---- I really enjoy it, but can't call it the masterpiece yet.Characters, plot, animation, voice actors, style - I like everything, but I just don't feel like giving anime a 10 yet.It motivates me or changes my vision of things.
---- [Beyond the rest or Masterpiece] ---- Life is a true masterpiece, nothing else can actually be called a masterpiece;Anime called masterpiece is something unique and brilliant with a really small number of flaws or they are minor compared to number of great moments and I just feel like giving a 10 is justified(3-gatsu no lion,Monster, Hunter x Hunter, etc).
Every score itself also has it's upper tier and lower tier. For example, Bakemonogatari is placed in lower 8, while Fate/Zero and Kill La Kill belong to upper part of 8.Also, JoJo has its own tier.
Anime is good(at least 7) if:
-It does its main job well: comedies have to be actually funny, thrillers have to be scary , etc
-I feel some strong emotions watching it/ enjoy it
-I remember names of characters after watching it
-I actually spend time watching it, not foresee all the storyline after 3-5 episodes
-Storyline is moving in right pace, right direction, not hard to watch
-Good psychological portraits of characters, characters and dialogues are good written
-Good production-wise(least meaningful criteria for me, but it should be at least watchable, also good production makes a lot of people think the series is actually good, when it's not)
Since JoJo is not right for any of the 7 rules above, here comes the rule number 8 : IT HAS TO BE A MEME
As you can see, most of Naruto related things are left without rating.I simply can't rate Naruto objectively.Naruto is my first "shounen galaxy" that got me involved and I knew it was an anime.I can't really remember what anime was my first. It was something from Miyazaki/Ghibli Studio movies or one of the tv-series like Pokemon, Sonic, Shaman King, Bakugan or Beyblade.
So, let's return to my first "shounen galaxy".Shouhen galaxy or shounen with really huge world or big shounen or legendary shounen or shounen with huge legacy or whatever you call it is a really long shounen that first got you involved in anime and has a special place in your heart.I don't know about current generation of anime watchers, but at least my generation(born in 1999-2000 +- 5 years)always had one specific huge shounen that was our very first and most remorable anime. For example, Dragon Ball, Naruto or One Piece. You may now understand, how trashy one of this anime is, but at the time you started watching it, you enjoyed every single episod, watched every single related movie or played every single related game. For example, I watched every single Naruto related movie,OVA,ONA,Special na played every Naruto related PSP(PlayStation Portable) game until some period of time and even read manga(only shinobi war arc though, because waiting for every episode once a week was really annoying(I'm a type of guy to watch everything at once or at least 2-3 hours worth of episodes at once, I can't wait for something). You just can't hate those types of anime, because there are so much good memories, discussions, friendships started because of watching it =)
Boruto is like a delinquent child for us, Naruto guys.Only its existence is a disgrace for all of our kind
I'm not into waifu concept, but I admit well-written female characters with some really nice and appealing traits and personalities.I may make anime girls personality types tier lists later, if I will have time for it.
Also, I'm not into hentai at all and find it totally disgusting
