The second season of Boku no Hero Academia provides a nice take on the classic shounen tropes of the Tournament Arc & Exam Arc, and it's pure fun.

The thing that this second season has going for it the most is the character development, much improved from season 1. When I started watching this season, it had been quite a while since I finished the first, and going in, I barely had any recollection of Todoroki's character. By the end of this season, he was a fully-formed character in my mind and one of my favorites.

I'm a huge fan of Rumiko's work and I would say Rinne is a return to the style of Ranma and Urusei Yatsura. Which, depending on if you liked those works, could be a good thing or bad thing.

Personally I'm a huge fan of Ranma so I'm really enjoying this series! Just like Ranma, it has a unique and likable cast of characters and lots of comedy/hi-jinks. However, there's not much plot or character development. Don't expect much to happen with romantic development or any over arching plot lines. Code Geass R2, the sequel to the first season, is a flawed, yet addicting anime with a wide array of characters and a complex/sometimes-confusing plot. Personally, R2 is one of my favorite anime, but it wasn't as strong and solid as the first season was. However; it still offers a lot to the plate.
