Hey everybody, I'm Yatahaze. You can call me Yata. A few years ago, me and some buds decided to put our anime fandom and habit of shouting opinions to good use and made an anime blog thing called For Great Justice. Sometimes people dig it, hopefully you can too. I also recently made a personal aniTwitter to compensate for the lack of consistent blog updates.
In addition, I write (and write about) music sometimes. Made a few solo EPs with a solo full-length currently on hold due to my schedule and some technical difficulties. More details on those as they come. In the meantime, you can check out my Sputnikmusic account if you'd like to get a hold of my music taste or read my music reviews.
As far as what I actually do and want to do, I'm a college senior fucking around on a small liberal arts campus. History major. Regarding other hobbies, I'm not much of a gamer or comic guy (though I do dig me some Florkofcows, and I used to build a huge-ass universe on Minecraft before I got locked out of my account cause I'm a fucking dipshit). Oddly enough, my family's seemingly genetic love for cars got passed down and I became probably the only liberal NASCAR fan on the planet. I may or may not be a (Red) Sox and Pats bandwagoner. Also I'm allergic to practically everything, so that's fun.
1: Completely irredeemable shit. Humanity's lowest point. The worst of the worst. 2: If there is at any point any purpose for anything in the work in question, it's elevated from a 1 to a 2. Regardless, it's still fucking abysmal. 3: Doesn't have any true merit and is pretty damn bad, but not outrageously so. Or maybe it is outrageous, but some element like visual finesse or narrative competency at least shows there was some degree of thought put into it. 4: Disappointing. Maybe showed legitimate promise at some point but ultimately squandered it too much to actively enjoy the end result. The Brian Vickers zone. 5: Slightly below average. Extremely hit-or-miss or consistently unremarkable but not truly awful. 6: The "dictionary definition of 'average'" zone. Shows that had an extremely good run but understandably fumbled in the end often end up here, as do forgettable shows I watched too long ago to realistically rate. 7: A slightly above average and/or consistently competent show that satisfies enough but could still use improvement. 8: Solidly above average. Decent rewatch material. Knows what it wants to do and might briefly stumble along the way, but it also swiftly recovers. 9: Fantastic. Would easily recommend and gladly rewatch again. Great shows that just barely aren't perfect enough to be a 10 and "classics" that I respect a lot but don't do as much for me on a personal level tend to fall here. 10: Absolute favorites. Essentially flawless, or to the point where any flaws are insignificant enough to not matter. Emotionally, thematically, and/or visually standout. Craftsmanship evident. The "saviors" (groan) of anime. Those "oh yeah, this is a fucking art form too" shows.
As a general rule, I don't include shows I drop during or immediately after the first episode in my dropped list. Just don't see any point in trashing something I barely watched.
