i did some reflecting and reading on the show since yesterday and i can understand your stance more now. i still enjoyed the show but i lowered my rating, even for the ovas, because the writing style of kore yamazaki feels more and more stale and formulaic to me.
still like chise a lot as a character tho.
it really is a big flaw how elias attempted human sacrifice just got him a humorous scolding by the end.

sounds to me like you expected too much and got tangled up in ideological questions the show couldnt answer for you, which was never really its intention anyway.

man emily neves plays inga so perfectly in the english dub i cant even listen to the original dub anymore.

ye i watched episode 0 first. maybe thats why the disconnect between the super tangled ep0 and the relatively straightforward ep1 happened.

watching un-go now and man, its really headdy and complicated. feels a little unnecessary.
but at the same time i dig the style of dialogue and the characters.
i doubt that i will love it as much as you do by the end, hoped that the past plot in africa or wherever they where would be expanded on.
idk maybe it will return to it but i kinda doubt it.
