At first i was also kinda didn't enjoy Monogatari that much, 'cuz i just started watching anime and i thought they're just talking and 1 year later i came back to series and now it's my fav Novel/Anime/Manga.
There's nothing big to worry about while watching Monogatari you just need to make sure that your watching the Novel orders not the anime airing order. You will get the best experience and if you want to watch by airing order.
