Well I will give you a couple really good Manga's to get you interested one's called Bloody Monday and the other is Rosario+Vampire but you may want to check out Doubt since its a Seinen.
And you don't have to use your imagination at all, the images are pretty explicits xD. Indeed there are more details in the drawings and maybe characters are more developed. But anyways I think that both are totally different thing, you should try reading manga once! ^^
